Business Owner

Katy graduated with honors, Phi Beta Kappa, from UNC Chapel Hill and holds degrees in Latin American Studies and Portuguese. She attended cosmetology school at the Aveda Institute in Chapel Hill, and worked for a couple of area salons before opening her own business inside of The Executive Hair Studio in Apex.

She has had extensive training in many haircuts, including many different variations of the bob, curly hair, men’s cuts, razor cuts, and women’s short and long haircuts. She has worked with Aveda, L’Oreal, Redken, and Pravana color lines, and she is a certified Pravana Master Colorist. She has also taken many courses in creative color techniques, including highlighting, balayage, ombré, and color melting techniques.
