Available Movers

Beware of Available Movers. Having used several moving companies, I have very low expectations – Available Movers was far worse than expected. Not only did Available Movers not show up during the two hour window, they never showed up. On two occasions, the movers lied to me, and told me that they were driving to my apartment. After the two hour window, they simply did not answer their phone. Dispatch could not locate them. Thanks to Available Movers, I wasted one full day (and the next day that I had to take off in order to fix their mistakes). The next moving company I used showed up earlier. What a contrast! I would never use Available Movers in the future, even if the move was free. Be careful!

We booked the moving days a couple of weeks before. On moving day three guys came on time, after calling and letting us know that they are on there way. They worked really quickly and moved our 1 BR apartment to the new 2 BR in 3.5 hours. The price was the best quote we got, and the estimate of Sam that the move is gonna take between 3 and 4 hours was correct. During the process I got a call from Sam that wanted to verify that everything goes well!

I have changed my review for available movers as the customer service has actually been fantastic. After having an issue with some missing property, I received a call from the owner Sam. He assured me everything would be taken care of. Sam let me know he questioned the crew about he item and in the end replaced what was lost. Sam really cares about the customer and the experience with available movers. His team was very professional on site and easy to get along with. The team completed my love in less than the allotted time time that I had actually paid for. If I had to I would definitely recommend using available movers for another move as it meant a lot to receive a call from the owner himself to make sure all issues were resolved.

We had a great experience with available movers. They are very professional about their timings and commitments. They are very friendly and accommodating and very eager to help. All our material arrived safely and we are very happy with their performance. I will definitely use their services again when I needed, and have no hesitation in recommending them to my friends and family. We wish them all the best.

These thugs over priced their estimates by double! I questioned it at the end of the day and they threatened to charge my credit card anyway. Then I noticed they damaged some of the boxes marked FRAGILE. I then I wanted to open up the boxes to make sure they didn’t break anything, the guy said he would charge me $ 150 an hour extra for that, and said if anything breaks they have insurance. But the insurance company didn’t refund the $ 750 worth of damage because I didn’t open the boxes with them in the room! FRAUDS!!!
More like AVOIDABLE MOVERS!

I contacted Avaliable Movers a few weeks ago about helping me with my move. The guy i talked to was very nice, gave me a reasonable price and assured I would be well taken care of. I decided to hire them for my move, I was a little skeptical only because I am a woman and I have a ton of stuff and I was afraid something would get broken. Luckily I picked a great group of guys, they all were very polite and handled every single one of my item as if they were their own. Everything was taken from point A to B in a reasonable amount of time and they left every thing just as they had found it. I will defiantly be using Avaliable Movers in the future they have certainly earned the #1 on my go to list when it comes to moving.

We’re jewelry designers and we were worried about finding the right moving company to handle our furniture, displays, tools, and other jewelry related equipment. We moved our office with Available Movers and I couldn’t be more pleased with their service. The moving crew were punctual and handled everything with attention to details. Every item was packaged with care and organized well for the move. They truly gave us 110% and didn’t leave until our items in our new office were perfectly situated exactly where we wanted them to be. I would highly recommend Available Movers for all residential or commercial relocating needs!

I have moved 3 times in the past 3 years. My move on October 31^st was the best experience I’ve ever had. Keith Jones, Eric, and William were the 3 hardest most professional movers I have ever dealt with. I had all my furniture put into a storage unit. These men packed my unit even before I finished filling out the paperwork for the unit. And they did an excellent job. My move was painless and uneventful which for anyone moving is 2 thumbs up. These 3 men deserve a raise and praise from there boss. All movers should take notes from these 3.

I called AM roughly two weeks before having to move (several states away), and was taken care of immediately. The gentleman who set-​up my move (via phone), was very professional, informative, and fast. A week before the initial move date, I requested a minor reschedule – by a few days, and AM was quick to accomodate that request.
The movers, Dimas and Cecilio, arrived on time and with great demeanor. The men worked at a quick pace, and immaculately packed my things into the moving truck (see photos). On delivery day, Dimas and Cecilio arrived in excellent time, after calling me before their departure to give a heads-​up. My belongings arrived in excellent condition, and were quickly moved into the new apartment.
I recommend AM, as well as Dimas and/​or Cecilio, as a low-​drag, efficient and professional service.

Sam and his company made my move painless! From the original estimate to the final move everything was on time and professional! Dimas (the foreman) was so nice and led his crew of George, Sean, and Harold. I expected to be stressed out, but never was! The price was very fair and it was a pleasure to do business with them! If you need to move, CALL SAM!

After 4 years it is now our second time around using Available Movers and couldn’t be more pleased. We got full packing services since we have such limited time to do everything ourselves with our busy schedules and the kids around. Our satisfactory experience is all thanks to such a wonderful crew who were very courteous, friendly, and very professional. The head guy Dimas assured everything was properly packed, handled with care and delivered on time. There was a slight delay for delivery but it was traffic hour and we were stuck in our car at the same time so I can’t imagine how much harder it is to get through with a truck. So happy to have your service! Highly recommend you!

Damaged our furniture, not just cosmetically… some beyond repair. Sales guy who sold us the quote lied, moving guy tried to hustle us and they were 3.5 hours late. Whoohoo!

I wish I could give this company negative stars. SO HORRIBLE!
Where do I even begin. First things first, they never showed up at the day/​time they said they would. And when I called they tried to blame it on me, saying I didn’t confirm the time – they called me one time and never left a number for me to call back. Then they tried to charge me an extra $ 350 for «expediting» the shipment that evening. Absolutely horrible. When I tried to complain, I was passed around to 5 different people, was sent over to a full voicemail box, etc. After a cross country move, this was the last thing I wanted to deal with.
Worse? When the boxes did arrive, they looked as though they had been dropped from a three story building to the ground. Completely mangled, partially opened. They «lost» one box of all my dishes, pot lids, and serving bowls — good stuff I had received for my wedding. And they had NO explanation.
What did arrive was a completely mess. Almost all of my artwork — which I paid a LOT of money for and/​or were personal creations done by me or family members — was nearly destroyed. All of the frame glass was broken. A few of the canvasses were ripped. Glassware (champagne flutes, wine glasses, water glasses), broken. I have to go out and buy all new things…
PLEASE, I beg you, do not use these guys! If you want your things to arrive in one piece, please avoid Available Movers at all costs. Incredibly disheartening and frustrating. I don’t complain often, but I had no choice this time around.

So I’ve used Available Movers Twice. Back in January they moved my stuff from my apartment to my storage unit. The guys were awesome and I had no issues.
2 weeks ago I called again to have them move the storage and an additional pick up into my new place. They arrived with a truck that was over half full. I spoke with Sam the owner about it and he said «Everything should fit». I explained that it clearly wouldn’t and I stated that the storage would barely fit, let alone everything else. This lead to the move taking many extra hours as the truck had to be packed perfectly to fit the storage contents. Then we had to drop off everything and go to the next location.
I kept Sam updated all day with the delays and what was going on and he told me he’d make good on it. At the end of the day (8 hours of moving that was estimated at 4.5 and previously done in 3.5) Sam offered to take of 30 minutes of time. When I spoke him about it he said «You don’t think the guys should be paid for an hour of work?» I said «How dare you take the money away from the workers, you’re the one who sent a half full truck, take responsibility». He told me not to tell him how to run his business.
I tipped the guys well because I do believe he actually stiffs his workers on the hours. Sam has no integrity and you should not use his company.

You apologize for any inconvenience I may have had? This is the man who yelled at me over the phone, talked over me and kept saying «you win, you win» and told me that I was the one stiffing his employees?!?
We barely fit the storage unit which you had moved in! You had the size information on that move and you knew that there were additional items like dressers and a couch.
As far as sending a 4^th guy, that didn’t create anymore space in the truck. Also your 4^th guy was a trainee who may have done less work than I did on the move. He also took a trip to Dunkin Donuts for 25 minutes while I was continuing to pack stuff from the storage.
As far as you saying «customer’s discount has no reflection on the employees pay» that’s not what you said on the phone to me. You said «you don’t think the guys deserve to be paid that hour?» to which I said «How dare you blame this on them, take some responsibility for sending out a half full truck». You then said «Don’t tell me how to run my business».
It’s truly amazing how two faced you are. Yelling and acting like a child on the phone and then posting this. You’re pathetic and you have zero integrity.

I hired Available Movers to move a small one bedroom into a storage unit 4 blocks away because they offered a very reasonable price. Maybe my experience was a ‘one-​off’ because most reviews below are positive but here’s my moving day story:
— I was given a 1 – 4 pm window… movers arrived at 5:15
— at 3:45, dispatcher called me to tell the movers will be late
— at about 4:15, the truck driver called to tell he’s running late. When I mentioned that it’s somewhat inconvenient for me, the driver exclaimed (most likely upset) «Do you still want me to come?» [doy, I still want you to come! My lease expires in 6 hours!!]
— When the movers arrived, no one was apologetic
— The truck had some other people’s things… when I asked how they would know which stuff is mine, they told me there’s a barrier [there was no barrier!]
— It looked like they were in hurry because I was most likely their last job of the day and as a result a lot of my stuff was ‘man-​handled’
— They threw my stuff in a storage locker in a very disorganized manner and when they were done, they asked «can you please verify that all your things are ok» [yes, because in the mess, I can totally tell whether my flat screen is cracked]
Very disorganized, unprofessional, and I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND.

Keith and the crew did a great job moving my stuff. It only took 3.5 hours to move a small 1 BR. Everyone was on time, courteous and efficient. The prices are competitive, too.

The worst company ever. Stacked several hundred pounds of furniture on top of my heirloom dining table. Of course, when it arrived all six legs were broken.
The driver had me fill out the bill of Lading before unloading otherwise I would never have agreed to any of the terms. He even wanted his tip before unloading.
There was no inventory, the truck got lost and arrived 3 hours late because they didn’t have a truck GPS that would help them avoid the parkways of NY & NJ. This is a NY company!
There were no apologies — they told me to file a claim at
. That’s there way of not accepting responsibility for their actions. I sent pictures of everything to
and after 6 months, what did they offer but $ 72. The table was destroyed.
My advice: (1) avoid these guys (2) sign nothing until you have a full accounting of your furniture and belongings. I may still sue them… the entire experience was so unprofessional
