I highly recommend West Coast Auto for road service! (805)466−1070. I actually accessed them after hours through AAA – on a Sunday evening (⁶⁄₁₉) after their shop was closed. Instead of a «technician», which is what AAA normally sends, I was fortunate enough to get an actual mechanic named Daniel from West Coast Auto! He lifted my hood and was able to deal with a very rare car problem (pressure building up in gas tank – which prohibits you from being able to take gas, even when the tank is on empty.) Daniel was so helpful and kind and fixed the problem – even without access to all the tools and the garage – so that I could safely get back on the highway and get my daughters back to San Francisco. (Before he arrived, I was sure we were going to have to book a hotel, cancel our plans for Monday and hit a repair shop the following day. It would have been a huge pain in the butt and a big expense to boot!) I am still so grateful. I would definitely use them again for roadside assistance – or go to their actual shop. Daniel was kind, knowledgable and trustworthy. Just the kind of mechanic you want.

Was able to get a same day appointment for a smog. Their price was fair and lower then the other guys who had a $ 35 off coupon. They’re quick and professional. They were referred by Ernie at Tire King.

We broke down 70 miles out of town, on our way to Madera for a high school robotics competition. Fortunately for us, a tow truck from West Coast Towing quickly showed up and took us back to their shop where they were able to replace the radiator and get us back on the road in less than an hour!

Heading back to the Bay Area from Santa Barbara on 101, some idiot ahead of us lost a tire. With no way to avoid a bouncing/​rolling tire, we took it in the right front fender.
Their driver Nate was fast and patient with our kids. He got us to the shop quickly and got us looked at fast. (It was the end of their business day)
If we weren’t safe to drive, I had no problem being told so, and having them not be able to do repairs until tomorrow. On the other hand, if we were ok, I wanted to get back on the road.
The guys took a thorough look, explained the damage, assured us we were ok to drive back to the Bay, and patched up the bumper enough to hold until we were home.
They didn’t charge us a cent for the eval & patching.
I would recommend this shop if you live in the area, or if you need emergency roadwork.

This is amazing people! I surely wouldn’t go here to ever have any work on your vehicle. I had both front wheel bearings replaced on my 2005 Dodge Ram truck. I was in a bind because my truck was not drive able. After seeing that they did not replace them with oem parts and put aftermarket on. I decided to investigate the pricing for the part per what they charged me. So first I called dodge and a oem part costs 371 dollars. Then I checked multiple stores to check pricing on the aftermarket skf bearings they put in even Napa where they purchased them. Pricing ranging from 159 to 201 dollars. In which they charged me 390 plus for the part. Each. Which would have been approx price for both. I called to ask and they said it was for warranty reasons??? Warranty reasons. The part comes with a warranty no matter what. Then he goes on to say to warranty the labor??? You are a certified shop charging 100 dollars an hour. Wouldn’t you as a shop stand behind your work? Or if the job fails you have had someone pay for the repair ahead of time. If everything goes good then you scored huge money and took advantage of someone who was in need and stranded. I mean what would have you charged me for oem parts? Funny part is I would have been charged the same money going to a dealer and get oem parts installed. Then he goes on to tell me he paid 300 dollars for them when I could have got them cheaper. Hmmmm how many different excuses could you give. Instead of pretty much stealing in my book why don’t you get a Conscience and refund me some of my over payment instead of trying to give an excuse I would except. Run a honest business. Just like when I was sitting there you made the statement of let’s see what else we can get him for when the guy had a cable issue. Instead of making the statement of we need to make sure everything is good so he doesn’t have anymore issues. Totally amazing!!! It’s that statement that made me check out pricing. So if you are looking for a honest mechanic shop I would look else where. Price gouging in a hard economy is not good business. Better business bureau should also be aware along with triple A.

These guys are amazing! I went on a family trip to Carrizo plains last Saturday and my 98 Jeep broke down in the middle of nowhere!
Sean was the tow guy who saved our lives by towing us to Atascadero before dark.
Unfortunately, being it was already 7PM on a Saturday when we got there, and our Alternator was dead we we’re looking at spending the weekend in a motel… but an hour later Sean called and said that one of his guys, Marc, was willing to come in, open the shop and replace the Alternator for us.
Not only did they fix our car on a Saturday night, but they charged us the lowest rate possible, no overtime or after hours fee and had us on our way by 10PM!

My Sprinter camper got the flu and not only did these guys tow me, but they allowed me to stay over night in their lot. They then were able to fit me in to get my vehicle checked out. These guys don’t claim to be German specific, but they were able to fix a German-​specific issue which needed an OEM part compared to a Napa part. Many shops would not have had the knowledge they had. Very reasonably priced too. Fair at every angle was my experience.

Im a local who regularly uses their pressure wash station on el camino… the last few times ive dealt with issues at the station so i told them about my issues and they gave me a small refund, no questions asked. They have my business.

Love them. They are always so nice and helpful. I took my truck somewhere else, and they broke a part on my truck and refused to fix it. West coast got me in that day and fixed it fast! Never going anywhere else.

I would not recommend West Coast Auto. We brought our car in and told them the specific problem we were having. It took them 5 days to diagnose the problem. They told us they would call and let us know what was going on, but they never did. We didn’t feel like a priority. And whats even worse — Their diagnosis was completely wrong.

I called the car dealer about a 15,000 mile service for my car with a synthetic oil change and cabin filter change. West Coast Auto was more than $ 100 less! They give a AAA discount. I will be coming here for all my maintenance (my car is under manufacturer’s warranty for a long time) from now on.

I originally went to West Coast Auto because they had a smog testing coupon on their website. My car had a damaged sensor, causing a check engine light. They fixed the sensor and smogged my car in a matter of hours and I was back on the road. They did a great job for a reasonable price. I will definitely go back to them for repairs in the future. I highly recommend them. And don’t forget to check their website for coupons.

Yes, they fixed my Ford Mustang Convertible a while back and did a great job. I will come to them for my future car repairs. I would recommend anyone to bring their car or truck to this shop.

I was on my way home from a small family vacation with my sister and two year old niece when our car broke down. Everyone at West Coast made what could have been a total disaster into nothing more than an adventure story to tell my friends later. The staff was friendly and polite and went out of their way to help my family and I not only stay safe but comfortable as well. I am a little sad I’m not from the area, because these folks have more than earned my repeat business if I’m ever in the area again.

Excellent customer service! I was in search of a place to get my state smog check done and had been to 2 other businesses prior to going to West Coast and both of those businesses were rude, to rude to even give me an appointment! Customer service goes a long way when it comes to dealing with my vehicle. I don’t want to be ripped off! I will definitely use them again for all my car needs!

Found a coupon on line and saved $ 20 on my smog check. Passed and was out of there in less than 30 min.

Wow West Coast Auto is awesome. I needed to have my daughter’s car towed after it broke down, I called AAA and Steve from West Coast was here within 15 minutes and he was so efficient, professional, and courteous. Makes me feel good about people in this crazy world! I am happy to recommend them to anyone who needs a tow!

I spoke with Ryan, the manager of WCA & T, and he sincerely apologized for the service that I received. It turned out that he and his service manager were both gone the day that I was there and the operation did not go as smoothly as it would have, had he not been gone. I thought it was unusual for that kind of service from them, since, as I mentioned before, they have always provided excellent service. So, I’m changing my rating back to where it should have been.
