Jim Ellis Collision Center

Even though Jim Ellis Collision Center is a high-​volume repair shop, Brent Martin and David Bissette gave me the individual attention that I needed. Not only did they pay for my rental after my insurance coverage lapsed, they also thoroughly cleaned and detailed my car. They also gave me moment-​by-​moment updates on the status of my car, and returned my rental car to Enterprise after I picked up my vehicle. My car hadn’t looked that clean since the day I bought it. Thanks Brent and David!

I couldn’t be more pleased that I took my vehicle here! I usually take my car to the Jim Ellis dealership around the corner for routine maintenance and I was so impressed with their level of service that I decided to take it to the Jim Ellis Collision Center when someone rear ended me. I got my car back today and I am VERY satisfied with how seamless the repair is. My car looks better than it did before it got hit! It did take a while to repair my vehicle but I would rather have quality than a rushed job any day! This was my first accident and my first time having to deal with a collision center. Naturally I was very nervous when I began the process because I didn’t know what to expect. Brandon and Hunter definitely made me feel very comfortable when I handed my car over and made sure to call me every step of the way to keep me in the loop. Even the guy at the front counter with the glasses (can’t remember his name) was very nice and has excellent customer service skills. Overall my experience was great! I have NOTHING bad to say. If I ever needed a collision center again (hopefully I won’t) I would definitely choose them again! Thanks guys!

Someone hit my wife’s Q7 in her work parking garage. Nothing major but enough damage to have the bumper repainted. Asked around and was told Jim Ellis Collision does good work.
I was warned that they could be slow. I decided to take a chance since my wife was traveling for work and didn’t need the car for a bit. Got an estimate and scheduled a date to bring the car in. Was quoted an estimate of 12 hours and was told it would take 4 – 5 days.
Dropped the car off at 8 AM on August 18^th.
Fast forward to Thursday September 27^th, no call from JE. There was a lack of communication during the entire process. I never got a call from JE with updates. I had to call to find out the status.
I’m told the car was finished but it didn’t meet their quality standards so they have to repaint the bumper. This of course was bullshit, my guess is they hadn’t even started it. I asked when it would be ready and I was told next Wednesday September 2^nd.
Fast forward to Wednesday, again no call from them. I called and they said it was still not ready but it would be ready Thursday the 3^rd. Thursday came and went. No call.
Friday the 4^th, I called the guy first thing in the morning. I was told that the repairs were done and it was going to the detail shop.
So at 3 PM on Friday the 4^th, 17 days after dropping off my car to have the rear bumper painted, I was told it was ready to come pick up. The only good thing is they did a good job, paint looks great.
So if you have a backup vehicle and you don’t care how long the repairs take to complete, take your car to Jim Ellis Collision. If you want your car back in a reasonable amount of time and get good communication, go somewhere else.

Hands down the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had in my entire life. I brought my car in for 2 small repairs in June. 4 days later I was called to give me an update for the timeline of 12.5 business days which would have put my car ready by mid July. And then I was never called again. In spite of repeated calls and messages no one EVER called me back. I had to send my boyfriend to get an update which makes me concerned that I was taken advantage of a as woman. I was literally called when the car was ready for pickup in 35 minutes SIX WEEKS AFTER I DROPPED MY CAR OFF at the collision center. It was disappointing to be treated so poorly and not only will I never use or recommend the Jim Ellis collision center for body work or repairs, when I’m in the market for a new car I will NEVER consider Jim Ellis as a dealer. Truly truly terrible experience and service.

I went to Jim Ellis Collision one year ago to have my car serviced. I was quoted 2 weeks time for work to be completed, but it took 4 weeks. Nonetheless, I was pleased with the work completed.
Unfortunately I had another fender bender requiring repair. I took my car to the shop for an estimate, with the insurance adjusters estimate in hand. I scheduled an appointment to have my car serviced. Fast forward two weeks and I pull up to the shop to drop off my car. I’m informed that this shop does not service my particular car. I was shocked and frustrated for several reasons. How do you look at the vehicle in advance and schedule a date of service for a car you don’t service? Mind you, my car was serviced here 1 year prior. Clearly you didn’t order any parts prior to my appointment to drop the car off, or you would have caught the glitch and called. I am completely frustrated with this poor customer service and waste of my time. You don’t suddenly remember or casually forget a certain car cannot be serviced at your shop. Empty apologies do not give back my wasted time. In this instance there’s no concession that could be offered to poor customer service.
Fortunately, I don’t have to bring this car back to this shop.

My experience with Jim Ellis was two-​fold. I took my car in after damaging my front bumper from tire debris to get an estimate and was told it would be 2 weeks before I could bring it in for repair. In the meantime, I was told that it was fine to drive.
I made the necessary arrangements and got a Hertz rental (on site) reservation and was told that although I was renting at the economy rate, they would get me ‘something nicer’.
The day came to bring it in, and I was told that it would take 5 or 6 days, and meanwhile this ‘something nicer’ car turned in to a Focus hatchback that had horrible transmission issues.
Initially, my assigned person’s communications with me were very limited, I had to wait until the next day at the end of the day to hear about a status report (was a voicemail that didn’t include an estimation of completion), and I called the following day to see when they would be done with the car. No returned calls. Weekend went by, I called again on Monday — twice — both in the morning and in the late afternoon and left messages. No returned calls. This was at the 5 day point and I was having to pay out of pocket for my crappy rental. (Oh, by the way, I called the first day about my rental and mentioned it had transmission issues, and I was completely dismissed.)
So I sent an email to the manager, and he immediately called me and made a very frustrating situation right. It turns out the guy who was in charge of my car was out sick, but it still doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t have been contacted, at least by someone else while he was out.
The manager really stepped up to the plate, and did everything he could to make things right– and I am very grateful that he was such a wonderful person to deal with.
I hope that more of his employees can follow his example. I’m giving them 4 stars because the quality of work was fantastic, and because of the manager. Otherwise it would have been one star.

Unfortunately, I had three no-​fault accidents that allowed me to use JIm Ellis Collision. My rating is overall based on all of these experiences.
The first experience was a bit problematic. I had an unresponsive advisor (who turned out was leaving the company which may have been part of the issue), which I believe led to significant delays in the repairs. As soon as I got the manager (Brent) involved, he jumped in and got things taken care of. Brent texted me and responded immediately to all of my phone calls or texts (even on the weekend). His service was outstanding and the reason I went back when I had the second and third issues.
When I got the car back from this first experience, it had some type of mechanical problem (would just shut off when idling) that was not happening prior to the accident and no one could figure out. Yet again, Brent got involved and worked with Jim Ellis’s service center. Of course, we could not replicate the issue when it was in the shop (it was a fairly random occurrence) After about three return trips, though, they finally figured out what the problem was and got it taken care of.
After this, I had another red-​light minor fender bender (someone hit me from behind) and a parking lot ding (fortunately, the person left a note). Both of these experiences were excellent, in part because I worked directly with Brent who made sure I was well-​taken care of. However, all of the staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful.
The only constructive feedback I have is to work out a better situation with the rental car service. Going back and forth from the Enterprise location way up (north) on Peachtree-​Industrial was not convenient.
I do recommend this location, especially if you have a VW or Audi (or other Jim Ellis purchased vehicle).

I had the best experience here. I was involved in a no-​fault fender bender and needed to get my bumper replaced. The reps were so helpful and pleasant to work with. It made a stressful situation much more bearable.
There’s a Hertz rental center on site and they had a car waiting for me as soon as I was done filling out paperwork. I was really impressed!
I hope you don’t have a need for a collision center, but if you do, this is a good one!

Impressed that this business read my review and reached out to me and wanted to know what’s behind it. Too early to tell if this will solve the issue, but appreciate that the company actually pays attention to this forum.

I bought my car from Jim Ellis and had a pleasant experience, so when I had a fender-​bender in July I decided to take it to Jim Ellis Collision Center. I have had the worst customer service at Jim Ellis Collision Center. I brought my car by for them to look at and see what parts needed to be ordered, etc. The guy helping me wanted me to leave my car at Jim Ellis before they ordered the parts to ensure I would use them to fix the car. I informed him that I had set up everything through my insurance to have my car repaired at Jim Ellis and I could not afford an extra week with a rental car. His response, «the insurance covers the rental.» (My insurance covers 80% — not worth a week extra of a rental).
They have a Hertz on-​site, which is very nice — one of the other reasons I chose to get my car repaired at Jim Ellis. However, I called the day before to reserve the rental, told the Hertz representative that I would be there first thing in the morning. When I got there at 8:15 am (15 mins after they open) — there was no car there for me. He had to run all over the place, drive to another location, and he brought back a car that had an expired license plate. So, I had to wait about an hour to get my rental car.
To be honest, the Hertz chaos did not really stand out because the customer service was so poor from my service technician. Being a female, this was not the first time I have been dismissed by car service technicians. There was also a male customer in the shop that morning, who received excellent customer service from the same service technician I was assigned to.
I was informed my service technician would call the following week to let me know when my car would be ready. The following week, I heard nothing from him. So, I call and inquire about my car… In this phone call I am informed that the «repair was more than they thought and my total was now $ 7000). Please note, this was a fender bender in a parking lot, two doors needed to be replaced… not sure there was too much other damage needing repaired — especially since I got estimates from two other places for $ 3000. So thank you Jim Ellis, for going ahead and doing extra repairs, doubling the cost from what was originally estimated, with out discussing this with the car owner.
Three weeks later, I am still with out my car. I have called and left 2 voicemails and e-​mailed the service representative — no response. This is the first and LAST time I will ever use Jim Ellis Collision Center.

If I could rate this place a zero, I would. It has taken me OVER 2, plus a few months, to have my car repaired correctly… and it still HASN’T been repaired. I was referred to Jim Ellis Auto Collision through my insurance company in 2011 after my accident. Being this was a repair that was supposedly «guaranteed», I’m thinking that if I experience the exact same problems in the exact same area that Jim ellis would repair without question. That isn’t the case. After my initial visit the car seemed to be working fine. Then about 3 weeks passed, and I began experiencing issues with the exact same problem that I went in to have repaired. i called MANY times to speak with a manager, or get a simple answer saying they would finally complete the repair. After finally being forwarded to someone that had no idea of what my complaint was his answer was Oh we cant help you. Even though we understand that the car is doing the same thing, and I see it with my own eyes we cant diagnose the problem. Therefore we cant help you. had I had time to go to the actual site everyday I would have, but I lived too far, so calling had to suffice. Months had passed – and I continued to get the run around. I kept calling back to speak with a manager or general manger, at this point all I got was the run around. Messages of people saying they would have someone else call me back, or a manger would contact me at some point. None of this ever happened. Finally one day i did speak with a guy that said he was a manager. Sure enough he told me to bring the car in and no matter what they would find the problem and repair it. Especially since it had been an insurance claim. I take off of work, and drive almost 2 hours to this place, i what do I get? I got the run around as usual. Then found out that particular manager no longer worked there – this was in the span of 2 weeks time! i had given up for a while (even more months had passed – mid-​2013), until my car got worse, and i found the time to actually go to the place. I called and just happened to end up on the phone with the present manager. She scheduled me to speak with another service adviser and I eventually took the car back in for repair. They did claimed to have done something new and replaced some crap, and not even 2 days after picking up my car, i continued to experience the exact same problem. Now (present day) they are telling me they cant do any diagnosing and don’t know what to tell me. They wont pay for any diagnostics and that I will have to find my own place and pay for the diagnostics there and call them (jim ellis collision) back and they will then decide if they will repair. What type of customer service is that? The last visit was just before Christmas 2013, and I called the manager again and just as expected, she was supposed to return my call twice and I still have not heard from this woman. I had to call her back NUMEROUS times only to hear, «Oh I didn’t call you back because I really didn’t know what to tell you.» What adult representing a major company such as this says something like that to a customer??? And I am STILL waiting on her return call and today is 1÷15÷14. I am beyond disappointed. I will not, and I mean ever, refer this place to anyone that I know.

Unfortunately I have had to take two of my cars to Jim Ellis Collision in the last few months and both times have been a great experience. I worked with two different reps and both were very pleasant, answered all of my questions, and dealt with the insurance companies. I had several updates via phone and email throughout the repairs and they hit their deadline date for both.
They also have a Hertz on-​site if you need a rental car and an Enterprise not too far that will pick you up. Very Convenient.

Terrible! I hit a dead animal while visiting my parents in ATL. Took it here to get a quote. The guy barely looked at it before giving me a price. He missed tons of damage and parts that needed replacing. It only gets worse. He told me I was fine to drive it back to Indiana. Once I got back I found out the car shouldn’t have been driven that far and the radiator was about to fall out because it wasn’t supported by the piece that it should have been (that part was broken in half). Worst of all, the guy ahead of me in line (you pull your car into a drive-​thru style service bay) decided he needed to back out. The worker there started directing him to back out around me. I ran over and said I’d move my car but the employee said «No. It’s fine. I’ve got this». He then directed the guy straight into my car, further damaging it. All he had to say was «oops». There’s not a chance that I would take my car here again and I would recommend that you don’t either.

Driving up to Atlanta on I-​85, I hit a piece of a blown out tire in my brand-​new (still hadn’t received the plates!) Mazda3 hatchback.
After getting over my initial wave of terror, I looked over the car. Punctured bumper, broken undercarriage, but it seemed structurally OK. My insurance (GEICO) let me choose whatever repair shop I wanted. I figured I would choose a Mazda-​certified shop that would get the proper parts. And it was absolutely the right decision! I stayed in constant communication with the staff, who always let me know exactly what the situation was in terms of the damage and the approximate length of time the car would need to stay in the shop.
Bottom line, when I did finally take the car out, it looked as if nothing had ever happened. Seriously, you wouldn’t know that there had ever been any work done or that there were any replacement parts on the exterior, the paint job was phenomenal!
Some of the reviews here complain about the length of time they take. To be honest, the whole process took about two weeks start to finish, which was a little long. However, about a week of that time was on account of GEICO’s needing to get an agent out to the shop; if I had just paid for the damage myself, it would have been done in about half the time. Leaving that aside, though, for me the most important thing is the quality of the work. And Jim Ellis Collision does an amazing job. Good things take time, and if you care about your car in the long run, in my opinion it’s worth spending a little extra time and money for the job to be done right. And even leaving that aside, the staff was both friendly and professional, they returned the rental car for me and gave my car that was in the shop a thorough wash. If I ever have car trouble again, Jim Ellis is first on my list!

No one likes to deal with companies after a wreck, but the Jim Ellis team made it easy and took care of me from the moment I walked in the door. I hope I never have to visit again, but if I do, I know where I’m taking my business.

Where to begin…
So some moron rear-​ended me while he was texting and driving as we were poking up I-​85 one day. I take my car, a 2011 MazdaSpeed 3, into JE Collision on Tuesday Oct 11. Jason tells me it should take about 3 days to tear the car down and determine what hidden damage needs to get fixed under the rear bumper cover as well as work on the crease in the passenger side C-​pillar. From there they will advise me of what steps are coming next. A week goes by, no update. No calls whatsoever, no advisement that an adjuster had seen my car, no advisement of damage, no nothing. I call Jason on Oct 18 and leave a voice mail requesting the status of my car. He calls me back a couple of hours later and says they have it all stripped down, are working on it, and that it will be completed and ready for pick up on Monday (Oct 24). Monday Oct 24 rolls around… almost 2 weeks have gone by… Once again, I have to call to get a status on my car. In the morning, I leave a voice mail asking for the status and what time should I be there to inspect the car, hoping to go by on my lunch hour. Two hours go by, no return call. I call again… the phone rolls over to voice mail. This sequence repeats up to about 12:45pm and after my fourth call, I send an email as well. Jason finally calls me back about 45 minutes after my email. He now tells me that the body work is done but they need to put the windows back in the car. He further tells me it’ll be ready tomorrow. Now it’s Tuesday, officially 2 weeks from my initial drop-​off, Oct 25. You guessed it, I have to call again for a status… I called around 10am to find out if I can go get the car on my lunch hour. Jason actually answered the phone this time! He says now they are waiting on some moulding/​emblems to be shipped in. HUH!!! He wasn’t sure if they already got there so he said he would call me back with an update. About an hour later, he calls back and says they have not arrived and that they were still waiting on those emblems. He then tells me it could be up to 530pm before they get delivered and that he should get an email when they come in. UNBELIEVABLE… He didn’t even offer an apology! I tell him that I am not happy that I have had to chase him around for status updates and broken delivery promises, and all he says is «I know. This car should have been out 4 days ago.» So now, I’m really steaming. I tell him that I am really hot and that I’ll call in later to get an update. He didn’t even try to offer to call me back. Once again, I have to chase Jason down to get my updates… This saga isn’t over. I’ll update this review once I actually see the workmanship on my car but based on my customer experience so far, These guys have really soiled the Jim Ellis name (I bought my car here too). I won’t be back here for service or to purchase a vehicle after going through this mess.

I got into my first car accident about 700 miles away from home in my brand new VW. The people over at the Jim Ellis Collision Center were absolutely awesome during the whole ordeal.
I can’t say enough about Larry, who kept me updated about the status of my car with phone calls, emails, and photos. Its really rare to experience that level of customer service! Larry was the one that walked me step-​by-​step through the whole process. I had about 3,000 questions and he took the time to answer every single one of the them. From handling the insurance process, to the estimate, to helping arrange my rental, I was well taken care of.
As for my car, she was returned as good as new… I mean, absolutely NO indication that I’d been rammed into! They made a frightening experience that much better with their level of service and commitment to their customers. All that being said, fingers crossed, knock on wood I won’t have to be back!

Jim Ellis recently did some minor body work on my Volkswagen and it was a pleasant experience from start to finish. From the estimate to pick-​up, the staff were courteous, professional, and efficient. The final product was also flawless and the estimate was right on target.
I would definitely return here in the unfortunate event that I ever need future collision repair.

Let’s just say I had a «mishap» with my 2007 VW Jetta and brought it to Jim Ellis Collision to make it pretty again. When I called and spoke to Gabriel about the repairs, he was very helpful and informative about the process with my insurance company. He told me each step to take, which I did, and the process ended up being seamless.
Turns out this location is actually just a drop off /​pick up center and the repairs are done at their Peachtree Road collision center. As I work in the area of Windy Hill, being able to drop my car off here was convenient and all of my dealings were with Gabriel who knows the meaning of customer service.
Thanks Gabriel and Jim Ellis Collision for making my ride pretty again. Yay!

Probably, the worst service experience (s) I’ve had and latest episode will finally lead me to another service provider after 3 years of false hope…
Paid 200 bucks to have a «wire connection» fixed on my ABS. A month later, exact symptoms, and was asked for another 300 to fix the wire harness. They offered to split the labor. thanks, but no thanks. 500 bucks to fix a wire, that should have been fixed the first time, was confirmed by another service provider to be an excessive rip-​off. They still ask why I’m not bringing in my VW for a tune up there…
