Called Friday (12.11.15), talked with Jeff Allen & Mattie Vuelta about finding a Van for my business. Mattie found just what I was looking for at their Danvers, MA location and had it in Auburn to check it out on Monday (12.14.15). Mattie & Jeff make the buying process easy & hassle free.
Also, kudos to the service department. Before test driving the the van, I asked service if they could provide a Lube, oil, filter & rotate the tires on my 2015 Santa Fe and they took it right in. The wash and vacuum was a much appreciated bonus.

Where to start
1^st visit: I bring my 2011 sonata in for recalls. (Rear control arms and transmission selector wire). Everything goes fine I take it home. Then very next weekend I replace my brakes in the rear.
Come to find a lug nut was stripped so bad I couldn’t remove it. I wasn’t able to tighten it again either. (Not the worst part). I bring it back in and they cut the lug nut and replace the hub.
The service manager felt it was necessary to mention that the mechanic couldn’t take credit for his lazy work and had the audacity to accuse me of doing it.
I complained to customer service. They didn’t care. All they cared about was me giving a bad report of the service rep.
Thinking I’d never go back to this dealership. My airbag light ended up lighting up. (Dealership only problem). So I sucked it up and tried again.
WOW
2^nd visit: So I make an appointment for 11:00 am.
Drop it off at 5am.
Write on the slip that I need the clock spring replaced and I planned on picking it up at 3pm
I didn’t get any info til 1:50 when they called me to tell me I was right the clock spring was broken. And… It would be an additional 120 dollars for them finding out what I already knew.
I told them I would call her back to give her the ok to still do the clock spring. If they were even going to have it done by 3.
I call back not five minutes later. She’s not at her desk so I leave a message to call me again.
Didn’t get a call back. And at 4pm went to pick my car up. No apologies, or anything. Just a lot of people that didn’t know anything.
While there I over heard another customer on the phone asking about the status of his car. The service team said they had no idea where his car was. Didn’t even know if it was there.
It’s a long post. Sorry. Just not happy.

I had a terrible experience trying to buy a car here. Avoid Herb Chambers Hyundai of Auburn at all costs! I negotiated a deal with them through emails and was very detailed. I was made sure they agreed to everything before I drove to the dealership. Of course, once I got there they changed everything. I actually pointed to the copy of my email (which they had printed out!) and said, «So your are telling me that this deal that you emailed me right here doesn’t exist?» and they said, «That’s correct.» I was a bit dumbfounded. Maybe they expected that I would stick around and still buy a car from them. I left and bought the car at Herb Connolly Hyundai of Framingham. It was an excellent experience. No problems at any point. There are plenty of Hyundai dealers out there, stay away from Herb Chambers Hyundai of Auburn!

Update: Sorry, the service manager did say she could try and give me a discount on the breaks but couldn’t say how much and didn’t sound definite. Regardless, the bottom line is that I should of been credited for the repair that was mis-​diagnosed. And they couldn’t refund me because my part they thought was causing the noise was already in the dumpster. I run a business and I would never charge for something on a hunch that was not the actual problem. The discount was not definite and I don’t feel confident having them continue to work on my vehicle. Also, not sure if it did actually get a oil change. I was charged but no sticker in the windshield to confirm the date or mileage. Sorry, I just don’t feel like I got good customer service and was taken advantage of.
And a week later my check engine light came on again.

This has been the worst dealership to get service for my vehicle. I made an appointment a week ago. I arrived to my appointment 30 mins early. I even followed up with a phone call 3 days prior to my appointment to confirm I needed a new tire. I waited for over 3 hours with no update on the status of my vehicle. I am completely dissatisfied with the length of time it took to service my vehicle & the overall level of less than mediocre customer service I received while here. I wouldn’t recommend this dealership to anyone! If I could rate them zero stars I would!

After wasting an hour in this place for nothing I had to leave with no deal. These guys first said that they will get me the same price which we discussed over the email since I was done with negotiations. After making me drive half an hour in, they say oh it was a mistake even after having the price written in email and discussed over the phone.
I was ready to put down the down payment and pick the car. Anyway who cares there loss I got myself a new car anyway.
Not to mention there sales rep was more busy talking to other people on the phone and joking around and showing us his facebook friend way to go.

I have now dealt with Marty Reardon 4x. he is absolutely fantastic.
We got a used Hyundai Sonata here and it was a great experience. we went back when we were going to get an extended warranty on that same car.
It wound up it would be cheaper to buy a new one than waste the money on the extended warranty. he took the time to show us all the payment options and went to the finance dept. and talked prices. He did all this knowing we might not be buying a car. but he took the time anyway. no pressure.
We bought a brand new Sonata, and within 2 weeks we went back and traded in my Toyota for a beautiful red Elantra.
We even took in my Mom for her new car. Marty has the patience of a Saint, my 71 yo mother is not tech savvy yet he took extra time to show her everything she asked about. and when she couldn’t make up her mind between the Elantra or Sonata, he took her out to test drive them again and sat and explained it all again to her.
Best car buying experience I have EVER had.

Update on my previous review:
I will never return to Herb Chambers Hyundai of Auburn, and I strongly recommend to everyone to go somewhere else to purchase your car.
I was at the dealership a total of three times– once to purchase my vehicle, the second to drop off the title to my trade-​in, and lastly to pick up my vehicle.
Despite those three visits, somehow the team could not get it together to have all the proper paperwork in order. I was interrupted twice at work and once again at home to sign forms that were wrong or not given to me. I purchased my vehicle on February 17^th. I was just notified today (March 13) that a form was incorrect and therefore a new form needed to be signed.
This process has been such a hassle, especially for the purchase of my first vehicle. I will be telling my friends and family not to go here.

Consider me impressed… I live in Long Beach, NY and was a victim of hurricane Sandy. I started looking for a new car about a week after the storm hit and had no luck on Long Island. So I reached out to a fiend of a friend of a friend (essentially no one). I got a hold of Josh Head at herb chambers… I explained to him my situation and told him what I was looking for… this is where it went weird…
He told me give him a day to find the car I was looking for (and Elentra limited) it took him 6 hrs to get back to me. He called me back and after about a half hr of finance discussions we came to an agreement (which was approx $ 40/​month less than I could get down here on a 3 year lease).
We arranged for me to pick up the car on a Saturday, me taking a bus up Friday and heading home Saturday. My car wasn’t ready, because I messed up the insurance dates, so Josh gave me a rental to talk to NY. I took it home on Saturday and on Tuesday they sent a driver down with my new car.
I was ale to et a car at a great deal with an investment of time totaling about 3 hrs… thank you josh. I will be back in 3 yrs to do our
next deal.

I brought my Hyundai SUV here for almost two years — the customer service and service department was always friendly and great. As a matter of fact, I’d still be bringing my vehicle there now if it wasn’t for the Service Manager, Bob.
I had the unfortunate luck of dealing with him and I haven’t been back since. He is extremely rude and condescending. He speaks to you as if you are a child and this was all over the phone. Once I showed up, he was «busy in his office».
My vehicle is being serviced elsewhere now and it’s too bad because everyone else at that location… from the girls at the front desk to the customer service to the mechanics are all professional and friendly — great to work with. But Bob the Service Manager is the reason I give someone else my business. This dealership should consider looking closer at his work practices… maybe listen in on a few phone calls.
So go at your own risk — you ‘ll be happy until you have to deal with him.
Update 6÷14÷12: I just got a call from the dealership. They weren’t happy with me writing a review… the voice said «I see you’ve been on the internet again». I told them not to call back. Wow — that’s nice and professional, huh?!

I first want to say that I love my Tiburon that I have purchased and this review does not reflect the Sales Department during my purchase of the car. This has to do with the Service Department and the lack of respect they show for their customers.
I purchased my vehicle back in the summer of 2006 and still own it to this day. Going back to 2009 I had put a decent amount of mileage on it when I ran into a mechanical problem with the car. I had 93,000 miles on it which according to Hyundai was still covered under warranty. I went to Herb Chambers to see if my problem was covered under this warranty. I was told that it would take about an hour to inspect the car and that it would cost me $ 100 if the problem wasn’t covered under warranty. If the issue was a warranty issue then they’d fix it free. Being in a bit of a time constraint to get this fixed I told them to go ahead and look at it. During the first 5 minutes of me waiting in the waiting room, I was talking on the phone to my father who told me his mechanic was available to give a free diagnosis that day. Knowing that, I went to the Service Rep I was dealing with and asked for my car back. He told me that the mechanics were finished inspecting my car (a total of 15 min for inspection… not the hour like they told me) and since it was completed in such a fast time he was going to reduce my fee to $ 50.
Now I know $ 50 doesn’t sound like much and while it’s petty and cheap, I paid it and took the mechanics report to my father’s mechanic who after test driving the car itself laughed when he looked at the diagnosis from the dealership. The dealership basically told me I was going to need work completed to attune of $ 850 — $ 1000 (not covered under warranty). My Father’s Mechanic simply diagnosed the problem as being an alignment issue along with 2 loose lug nuts on my tire which is what was causing my car to rattle at high speeds. His total cost to fix was $ 50.
After finding this out, my father and I went down to Herb Chambers Hyundai to speak to the Service Manager and voice frustration and hope to get the $ 50 back or at the very least receive an apology for the misdiagnosis. The Service Manager (who I believe is still there but will remain nameless) was very rude and stood fast that his people made the correct diagnosis and that our mechanic was WRONG… even though the car was fixed and drove nicely to the dealership. He also stated that I was already given a fair discount by not getting charged the full $ 100 to look at it.
Knowing what I know now, I will NEVER do business with any of the Herb Chambers Dealerships that are located in Auburn Mass… I know of people who had bad experiences at the Toyota Dealership too.

I Love love love my Hyundai. This is not a review about the car.
It’s about this dealer only-​They gave me a bunch of coupons for service and oil changes and told me they would be good at any Hyundai dealership. It’s only after I tried to get service closer to my home that they told me they were worthless.
And when I tried to discuss this with Auburn Herb Chambers I was quickly dismissed.

Recently stopped in to take a look at the SUVs as I start to think about a new vehicle.
It was a busy Saturday afternoon. The place was packed. I spent the first fifteen minutes being ignored and I had no problem with being ignored for a change.
Finally got caught as i was walking on the lot. A salesman got a hold of me and took me to the far reaches of the lot to show me a few vehicles. He wasn’t pushy. Didn’t even ask for any information from me. Great I thought. No constant phone calls trying to get me to buy. He did give me some of his time and was quite helpful in answering a few questions.
Not the kind of experience you expect when you are looking for a car.

I did all my research, got a good price and then called Herb Chambers because they said they would beat any written price by $ 200. They told me they would and then when I got out there they tried to sell me a demo model with 2714 miles on it at full price. The thing wasn’t even cleaned out and still had crap from the guy who had been driving it in the armrest and glove compartment. When I told them that the only way I would take the car was at a steep discount they offered to take $ 300 off for a car that had been used for what must have been a few months. When I explained to them that it was a used car, they told me that because it had never been registered it was still a new car.
They are either incompetent, stupid or were trying to screw me. Odds are all three. Needless to say, I will not be doing business with herb chambers in any way ever again.

Last month when i was researching compact suvs i stopped in for a minute to test drive the Tucson. After 3 hours of them pressuring me to buy anything on the lot, and then them giving me a bunch of numbers that made no sense. I finally got my car keys back and ran for the door.
I feel bad for anyone that walks into that place that hasn’t done their research.
