This place is terrible after my family and I have purchased 4 vehicles. I work at a dealership myself and I never treat my customers as Herb Chambers does. I am still dealing with issues and they also forgot to give me the Key to my wheel locks! They are giving me a hard time about getting a key and are denying there is anything wrong with my ball joints. The service garage at my dealership took a look at my car and both ball joints are bad and according to the techs it looked like the tires were never rotated and the I need another alignment even though I had one 3 oil changes ago. My car also only has 32k miles and was bought BRAND NEW with 22 miles from test drives. This is ridiculous; and should not be happening. Stay away from this place including the sales person Matt Parzych who sold me the car in the first place, Emad Benelkour was the one who gave Matt the deal in the first place. Matt told me nothing about the vehicle and did not help at all on any deal. They are all money hungry and do not care what happens after you sign those papers. I have learned a lot from working at a dealership now, and I am livid about the customer service and the sales peoples knowledge. They will take advantage of anyone. The service there is terrible as well, as I have explained before.

So I did it. I could not buy another Toyota after this horrible dealership experience. I wanted one but refused to give my business to a company that tolerates a dealer like this one.
I bought a new Honda. Goodbye Toyota.

I bought a total of three cars at Herb Chambers over the years. The last was a Toyota Highlander SUV platinum with extended warranty. My wife had a problem with the rear seat. I took it to them a total of four times. Finally they gave me BS that it was a design flaw and refuse to honor the extended warranty. Bunch cook and liars. I hope they go out of business.

I cant even express the amount of hurt i am feeling due to this dealership. I feel so violated that someone would take stuff out of ones car? And Herb Chambers cant even call. I dont even want the car. I wish I could get over this, but it is consuming me.

Bought a used vehicle with high mileage for a 2014, was told it was a one owner vehicle, figured it was someone who drove all highway. Turns out after going through the glove box that it was a rent a car. Make sure you ask for everything when going there, don’t let them fool you.

Too bad can’t give negative stars! This place is horrible on I have never had such a bad experience at a car dealership in my life. First off they didn’t have the title to the car that they sold me because it hadn’t been paid off by the dealership yet (not even sure if they can do this). So the one to two days they told me it would take to register my car turned into a week at the end of the week they told me it would be at least another week. I told him I didn’t want the car anymore so they made a promise to make the first payment for me told me I could pick a check up the next day. The next day I showed up to give them my car as my trade-​in and take the check for my first payment and they told me at the last minute that they were unable to cut the check for me until after I make the first payment, which is fine but I had called two times that day packed both my kids up and drove out there for nothing. If they couldn’t do it they should’ve told me they couldn’t do it instead they told me both times we caught that the check was sitting there and ready to go. Fed up with the amount of lies I told him to cancel my order I didn’t want anything to do with the dealership they should me before I left that they hadn’t paid off my trade-​in and had not taking a loan out for the new car yet. Imagine my surprise when we can later I get a letter stating my loan for my trade-​in had been paid off after, days after, I canceled my order. I canceled my order on a Monday they paid off my loan and took out a new loan in my name on Thursday. Then I had to drive back down there to get it situated again. They are liars and they wasted my time. There’s enough dealerships out there I would recommend you to someone else.

I bought a car at Herb Chambers years ago, and along with it I bought an extended warranty. Now that I finally had a chance to use that warranty, I called the dealership to get the details on that warranty. Although my warranty was still valid, the dealership told me that they had no record of my purchase because it was too long ago. They told me if I did buy any warranty at the dealership, it must have been through some company that is now bankrupt. i asked them what that meant, and they said, «that means tough luck for you, it’s not our problem». I was livid at this «showcasing» of customer service.
I proceeded to call Toyota Finance (who the dealership assured me had no record of this transaction) who found my still, very valid, warranty details in about 3 minutes. The company had NOT gone out of business. Now, I have successfully been able to process a warranty claim at another dealership, but my faith in Herb Chambers is no longer existent. What a TERRIBLE dealership. Don’t trust them, and don’t buy there.

Recently went in for an oil change and tire rotation. Staff was somewhat friendly but very professional and timely. Was in and out in very little time

Truly the WORST experience ever. I picked a car I liked and wanted a test drive and the «couldn’t find the key». Just a trick to keep me there and create impatience. Long story short, I bought the car 6 months ago and they still haven’t gotten me the spare key. The second I signed the papers I was nobody. Had to chase them for everything agreed. Buch of scumbags there. Stay away.

I went to Herb Chambers Toyota in Auburn today to look at trading in my 2010 Toyota Highlander for a 2015 Toyota Tundra. I did my homework. I found out the price a price range for a trade-​in to be between 15k and 16k. They low balled the trade-​in value at 9k. They were not even in the ball park. It was just a poor way to treat a repeat client.
The whole process of finding out what my trade-​in value and the price of the new truck was 1 ½ hours.
I have purchased two cars from Herb Chambers Toyota in Auburn. This would have been a third. I don’t think I can trust them anymore. If you are thinking about using them, do your homework. If I didn’t, it would have cost me 6k to 7k.

SHADY is the only word I can think of when it comes to this dealer. CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH…
I asked for an out the door price on a vehicle which I received but something did not add up.
the vehicle was a 2015 Toyota Corolla sport plus the pictures that came with the vin number showed that it had a push button start and heated seats. I received a better quote from Boch Toyota south and went there to test drive the vehicle and see if they really could beat herb chambers quoted price… the first thing I noticed was that there was no push button start nor heated seats. when I brought this up to the sales person he flat out said only the premiums have push button start and heated seats to this I decided to call herb chambers and see. I called and was assured that the quoted price was for a vehicle with push button start and heated seats I went back to the sales associate and he asked if I had the vin # for the vehicle and he would look it up on the Toyota manufacturers website. He came back with the print out of the vehicle and low and behold it not only had no push button start nor heated seats it also had a smaller package included in it than the one I was looking at.
I will never do business with herb chambers it is the shady tactics like this that give car salesmen and bad name. I find this very deceitful and buyer beware if the use these under handed tactics to get you into the dealership what other tactics will they use to cut corners and waist your time and money .

I bought four cars from these guys over the years. You’d think there would be some consideration. Went in to buy a fifth car using two of the cars I bought from them. They were all very nice and seemingly very sincere when they learned of our need to go to one car, but all of a sudden those two cars were not worth anything close to what Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, NADA, and True Car said they were worth for this specific area. I guess this time the car I wanted is in demand so loyalty was trumped by profit. One of the salesmen told me they couldn’t sell one of my trade ins for the amount valued because it was too close to the price of a new model. Problem is I found the same year car being sold for much more than that impossible amount on their own listings. Disappointing is too kind of a word.
Update: Changed from two stars to one star. As I expected I heard from this dealership. But the call did not go very well. Thinking there might be another chance to make a deal, I initially tried to treat the call with a little bit of light-​hearted humor, but that might have been a mistake. It was not received well. My review was taken as an indication of being «upset». I tried to state that I was not upset, but «disappointed», and the caller did not accept that stating he did not want to argue semantics with me. Uh oh. He stated, in an angry tone, I «WENT ON THE INTERNET, SO I MUST BE UPSET!». And then the admonishment started. «FIRST OF ALL THIS IS A BUSINESS!». At this point I told the caller that I did not like the tone the call was taking, that I felt I was being scolded, so I terminated the call.
So, I dropped the rating down to one star. Apparently everyone at that dealership is not nice, So now that pretty much negates any chance I would ever return there for anything, including service.
I’ve been using reviews as a guide for buying things for years. Finding them useful, I submit reviews of my own. The above is a «review». And I won’t be scolded for telling the truth.
Newer Update: During the visit I reviewed above, one of the salesmen told me that they could not offer me the trade-​in value I obtained from Kelley Blue Book (19K) because that value was too close to a new vehicle. Why would someone pay that when just a little more would get them a new car.
Well, in the most recent copy of the Webster Times, the dealer has 4 RAV4s listed at $ 21,558. Mr dealer, why would anyone pay that when just a little more will get them a new car?

Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere! I made an appt to purchase a vehicle from another lot, it was supposed to be there, inspected, and ready to go. I showed up with my husband, one yr old, and FIL as my cosigner. First, the car salesperson I was working with never showed and then they let on the car was being inspected and I had to wait, fill out paperwork for a car I had never seen in person. I waited an hour while the salesman gave us the run around. Finally, I had to ask if the car was even there, he finally admitted it was not! We left in a huff, and the manager chased us down in the lot claiming he could get the car there ASAP. Why wasn’t it there at our scheduled appt time? They have no issue lying to your face and they dont deserve your business.

I bought my sienna from kennedy lidonde, the whole experience was excellent, this is my second vehicle from your dealership and I can’t say enough about kennedy, the next car we buy will be from him.

Avoid the terrible dealer. I wanted a blue Sienna van with all wheel drive. Not a complicated request. We agreed on the price and they promised to locate the car. I left a deposit. I didn’t hear from them and every time I called they said they were still looking. I went online and found the exact car I wanted at Harr Toyota in Worcester, 5 minutes away. I bought it there for a much better price and the sales people at Harr were great. I am still waiting for Herb Chambers to refund my deposit, although they promised to refund it 2 days ago. Avoid these crooks.

Can I leave less than one star??? These idiots know nothing about the finance industry and have zero ability to follow direction.
I instructed them that they get one pull on my credit report… and they yanked it 8 times, lowering my credit score for 2 years until those pulls will go away. they did this, even after I told them that the deal would be impossible to do as the car I owned is too underwater, and I was only giving them the one shot as a gamble.
Since then… they call me nearly monthly to try and get me in again. Each time I explain to them exactly why the deal is impossible to do at this time, and each time they are insistent on being able to get it done.
They are either ignorant about the way the world works, or they are indifferent to the needs of the customer, and only care about themselves. I wouldn’t go back here if they gave me the car for free…

In all my years of buying vehicles, I personally think that this dealership is one of the best.

I was cold called to come down and talk about a new vehicle. My wife and I went down and walked around and found a vehicle we liked and started negotiations process. Now, if anybody expects to walk into a dealership and just point at a car and say «give me your best price» has got to be insane. It’s a business and they are trying to make the most money from each customer they can. So go prepared for a conversation. When we left, we were happy, we got the vehicle we wanted, and we didn’t go over our price.
The salesman followed up with everything he said he would. Even called a month after the sale just to make sure we were happy with the vehicle AND if we had any questions after owning it month. That really impressed me.

Herb Chambers Toyota of Auburn, MA is staffed by liars and people without ethical integrity. I negotiated the price of a new Toyota Tacoma on-​line, and then went into the dealership to discuss the details. My salesman was John Bellofatto, who was generally nice and apologetic about everything that I am about to describe.
So, I negotiated the terms of the lease aggressively, and came to an agreement with Stephane Jovin (Sales Manager). At this point, I was transferred to Shawn Merrick (Finance Manager), who brings up the paperwork and shows me a monthly payment based on purchasing the truck at full MSRP of $ 34.5k, instead of the negotiated price of $ 31k. When I proceeded to explain that this was not right, he called in his boss, the General Sales Manager, who tried to make it seem as if I was confused and didn’t understand basic math (I’m a mechanical engineer), and also couldn’t understand why I was upset about this. So, magically the numbers changed and they brought the monthly payment down to what had been agreed.
So, I signed the lease agreement and the State of MA vehicle purchase contract and left the dealership to wait for a call when my truck was ready. They called back 5 days later, saying I had to come in and «re-​sign the lease agreement», which is a classic car dealer scam if you google that phrase. So, I go in, and after waiting for over an hour, Stephane Jovin (Sales Manager) comes over and tells me that the lease didn’t get approved by the financing company, so they need me to sign a new lease for $ 100 more per month. I asked him: «So, you filled out all the information for a lease agreement and a purchase contract and signed it without running my information through the leasing company?» and he says «Oh well, I guess that was a mistake on our part». To which I replied «What I know is that the State of MA Vehicle Purchase Contract that you signed is a legally binding contract and any attempt on your part to not honor it constitutes a breach of contract, so you have two options: 1. Give me the deal I negotiated, without any changes, or 2. I contact my lawyer and sue the dealership for breach of contract».
So, he walks away, and talks with his boss, the General Sales Manager), and then comes back over and says «We called up the dealership General Manager (Dan Bortolussi), and he agreed to take a loss (what a joke) on the truck and honor the original contract… as if they are doing me a favor.
So, not only are the folks at Herb Chambers Toyota of Auburn, MA dishonest, they also engage in illegal activity to try and trick people into new contracts. I’m lucky I did my research and realized the scam they were trying to pull. Do not give them your business; they are highly unethical and a bunch of scum bags.

**Now that we’ve owned our car for about 18 months, I wanted to write an update about their service center as well as the recent purchase of another car.**
Service Center:
We bought the extended Toyota Care and have had all routine service done at this location and our experience every time has been great. In particular, Martin Dodd, has been wonderful to work with. Even though the interaction time I’ve had with him has been very brief during check in of my car when bringing it in for service, while entering all my car info into the system, he fills up the time with great conversation. His overall cheery attitude and excellent customer service really brightens the day. :) Jessica Cantwell has also been very helpful with scheduling appointments via email and always gets back to me very quickly about available dates/​times. Even though we moved about an hour away and could have our car serviced at a Toyota dealership much closer to us, we will still continue to bring our car here!
Purchase #2:
We were here for a service appointment and a couple days prior, we were contacted by Kimberly Gerolomo about interest in purchasing our 2013 Camry back from us and that we could discuss the details while waiting for our car to be serviced. We ended up taking advantage of the opportunity to upgrade to a 2015 Highlander, and our experience, just like when we bought the Camry, was excellent. Dhimitri Lako was our sales consultant and he was extremely friendly, helpful, and great to work with. He really listened to what we wanted and never pushed us to upgrade to a more expensive model or suggested a different car). He worked very hard to get an extremely fair price for us and made sure we were happy with the car. Would definitely do business with him again!

We called quite a few times to make sure they had the exact car we wanted, the sales person was being very nice and promised they had the car and willing to match the price with the other dealership.
So we drove an hour to this place, we sat down and the sales person went to check the availability of the car, came back and told us it was just sold, really?! I don’t believe this crap. They wasted our time and gas to come all the way here, typical business switch and bait, knowing we had a particular combo we wanted it.
Extremely poor customer service, staring from the internet sales manager, didn’t have a custody to give us a call the car is no longer available, only if I believe it.
This is just not a right way to do business. They are all liars there. Where is the negative star button here?
