Quality Inn & Suites

This is the worst hotel experience I have every had. I got into my room and smoke detector is in the freezer. Yes in the freezer. The room smelled like mold. I also had cigarette hole in my sheets. It only gets better after getting back to room after long day at the masters my bed was stripped and not made and my room door was left open. I went front desk and explained the situation to them and they no explanation and no I am sorry nothing. I would rather sleep in my car than this place.

I checked in after driving 7.5 hours at 12:30am with my daughter. I was walking to my room and noticed a sign posted on all pillars that stated «attention guests all rooms will be steam cleaned from March 29 to March 30» I went into the room and the smell of cigarettes was very prevalent. I used the bathroom, which was fairly clean and headed back to the room. I noticed the sheets didn’t cover the matress and I could see blood stains all over it. I went and looked and there were blood stains, bed bug feces, and bed bugs crawling all over the bed. I lifted the matress and there was cigarette ashes all over behind the nightstand and bed. I immediately grabbed my stuff off the bed, and saw there were bed bugs crawling on top of the bed. We went straight back to check in to make staff aware of the condition of the room, the staff did not seem surprised of the condition of room or bed bugs. The staff did not offer me another room, not that I would have taken it. The staff stated my money would be refunded, and I have a receipt that states that. I then spent the next 1.5 hours trying to find another hotel room because all the hotels where booked in the area. I finally found a hotel 13 miles away and had to pay double what I had already paid for the room at Quality Inn. I got to my new room at 2:20 am and had to be up to travel by 6am. I then called into customer service the next morning to make a complaint and got no where with the customer service representative. She stated that since my room was refunded to me she could not place a complaint. I was extremely dissatisfied not only with the condition of the room, but even more disheartened by the service of the quality department. I then checked my bank account and was charged twice for the room at Quality Inn. It cost me 350 dollars to sleep for 3.5 hours due to the conditions of the room at Quality Inn. There is obviously a bed bug problem in all room, ad steam cleaning room is a treatment for bed bugs. DO NOT stay here unless you want to take these unwelcome guest home with you, they are a nightmare to treat.

We had a reservation for one night for an appointment scheduled for the next morning to be over between 10:30 and 11:30 AM. They said they could not check us in because they had overbooked and this had messed up their computer system, but they were able to give me room key cards anyway. When checking in, I specifically requested additional time to check out (by 12 noon) on the following day, because my appointment would possibly run until 11:30 (including travel back to the hotel). The staff member checking us in agreed that this could be done without additional charge.
The room was a little musty, but clean and comfortable — about what I expected for the price. The staff was courteous and friendly, at that point. I was prepared to give them a high rating for a budget place to stay in Augusta, GA. Then at check out, they refuse to give us an invoice, I guess because of the problems checking in the previous day, so I did not question it and trusted the hotel to be honest. Later, I discovered in reviewing my credit card statement that despite being promised that we could check out by noon, instead of 11, they charged me for an additional day, first claiming that we had checked out a full day later than when we actually checked out and then later that we had checked out after 1 on the day we actually checked out.
We checked out at 11:57 on the day scheduled — I checked my watch when my wife went in to return the key cards. As I was done with the morning appointment early, we could have made the normal check out time, although I am not sure that would have made a different to a hotel that «mistakenly» enters the wrong check out time when calculating room charges anyway. Regardless, even if we had checked out late, which did not happen, charging double the daily room charge for a few minutes of additional time after check out would be pretty outrageous.
I called the hotel about the issue, the staff member took my phone number, stating that she had to check with the manager and would call me back. The hotel never called back. So I contacted the group that owns the hotel and associated brands and their customer service refused to respond to my complaint about what I believe at this point were dishonest business practices, insisting that I had to work it out with the hotel itself. What is the point of having a customer service department for the hotel group if you have to go through the hotel anyway!
All in all, I feel very ripped off and we will not be staying in a Quality Inn or their associated brands ever again and will be not recommending them to anyone. Terrible customer service by the group running these brands and what I believe to be a deliberate attempt to take advantage of me by not providing documentation about the check out time and using that as an excuse to charge me for an extra day.

While we normally like Quality Inn’s; this location was run down and dirty, the «smoke-​free» room stank of smoke, the bathroom counter was scored by burns, the staff seemed scared, and the computer system used for checking-​in guests seemed to be broken, or at the very least difficult to use.

If you’re a contractor and your company is on a budget, you may get stuck here… Be warned!
The Good: It’s centrally located. They have kitchenettes, they have a warm breakfast available every morning.
The Bad: My coworker had roaches in his room. The kitchenettes ARE NOT FURNISHED (read: you have to bring your own plates, pots, pans, utensils, etc…), I had to fix the AC unit in my room.

A friendly, helpful staff makes up for most of the drawbacks.
Cleanliness is OK but would be improved by deep cleaning the carpets. Don’t walk around barefoot unless you like black feet or socks.
The free breakfast is generally alright; especially the juices, yogurt, and fresh, make-​your-​own waffles. The pre-​cooked, frozen eggs and biscuits are“iffy.” IF they are properly heated and IF the cook keeps ahead of demand, everything can be pretty decent.
Except for rooms adjacent to the kitchen and laundry, noise is not an issue.

Nice room. Free WiFi, refridge, sink, counter 2 element stove, microwave. The room was clean and inviting.

Okay, so this place wasn’t the greatest.
I spent four nights here… and I resorted to turning off the water supply to the toilet because the damn thing would NEVER stop running.
I realized that water conservation doesn’t seem to be a big deal here… so I didn’t freak out all California-​tree-​hugger style… because the girls at the front desk seemed like they’d throttle me if I complained.
After my second day — they started warming up to me and actually were pretty pleasant. Still, I didn’t want to complain about anything in my room, because I was afraid to upset anyone.
…the breakfasts were okay. Much better than your average continental breakfast that’s provided at most hotels. I ate a TON of biscuits and gravy. The ingestion of the most biscuits and gravy in consecutive days of my life took place here. I will forever remember that with a slight fondness. SLIGHT. FONDNESS.
…the eggs had sugar in them. I was confused. I don’t normally like my eggs sweet, but hey — when in… not Rome, do as the non-​Romans.
I really liked being able to make my own waffles though… that was fun and exciting…
Even cooler, if you have your family and are traveling on a budget — they have a full size fridge and a stovetop that you can use in your own room. …just make sure to pack a pan or something. o_​O?
They’re also pet-​friendly… it’s a reasonable one time fee — I didn’t mind so much.
Overall, I’d probably never come back here — but I’m not gonna knock on the place too hard — I got what I paid for — and that’s all that mattered to me.
