Sam has been amazing. He always answers his phone, text thus making communicating with him simple. Plus, he is polite! Sam came right out for an estimate and it was more than fair and honest. He also was extremely accommodating with our schedule. Even though I have chosen not to paint, it has nothing to do with Sam. I highly recommend him. He works with his son, whom also is a very pleasant young man.

After calling about 6 other handyman services — few of which ever got back to me, I was thrilled when Sam at Austin We Fix It picked up the phone himself when I called. He was also one of the few willing to come out and look at the property and give me a bid — which was very reasonable. He worked quickly & efficiently —replacing some kitchen tiles that were broken during a plumbing job & repairing the drywall that had also been cut out during the same plumbing work. In fact, he went beyond simply patching the drywall (which is what I expected) and instead replaced a huge piece so it would be more consistent. I was very happy with his work & will call on him again!

Sam installed a storm door with a built in doggie door for us this past weekend. It only took him a few hours and everything looks great! He showed up on the day he said he would, he answered my calls or returned my calls within a reasonable time. He can do just about anything: Floors, bathrooms, kitchens! Give him a call!

After working with a lot of handymen, I can tell you Sam Tuttle of Austin We Fix It is the real deal. He is honest and hard working. He is also a good guy. Even though he was booked solid, I had a leaking water main and he made sure to fit me in and get it fixed. I have used Sam on multiple jobs on more than one property and my only wish is that he was less busy so I could get more of his time. The other good thing about Sam is he is honest about what he can do, vs. should not be doing. I’ve worked with guys that say that they do it all, and turns out they do. They do it all… wrong! Sam Tuttle, owner of Austin We Fix, is an expert carpenter and jack of all trades. He installed a over scaled pivot door with perfection, painted inside and out of our home, installed door and cabinet hardware and cab fronts among many other projects. My husband and I recommend him highly and trust him.

The closet/​linen room adjacent to our master bedroom/​bath is about 136 square feet with an irregular lay-​out. A pipe broke in the wall soaking the wall studs, carpet, pad, insulation, sheetrock, baseboard. After having a plumber repair the pipe, my dog Lucky and I were very fortunate to run into Sam Tuttle during a walk through our neighborhood. We asked him to take a look at the repair/​remodel job we wanted.
He replaced several large holes of sheetrock and taped/​floated/​texturized/​painted that area. He painted the ceiling white and painted all of the walls Techno-​Gray 50% to match the walls in the master bed and bathroom which we previously had painted.
He removed the damaged rug/​pad/​nail strips and replaced with tile/​grout to match the bathroom tile perfectly, having to make many tile cuts.
He replaced the damaged baseboard and replaced/​caulked/​painted all of the baseboards and the added shoe molding, making impressive, perfect cuts to follow the walls.
Sam is a skilled master at all of these various tasks and a very dependable person. There is no sign of a patch anywhere, and the work is more professional than someone who advertises him/​herself as a a professional painter or tile setter or carpenter would do. And he recycled tile boxes and cleaned up the paper masking afterwards! The closet looks better than it did before the pipe leak. We are really amazed by it.
Sam is a really nice person to have around, and he was with us for over a week, because each of the tasks required some waiting period for paint/texturizer/‘mud’/tile/caulk/grout, etc. to dry or cure. He had to drive for over an hour from his house for each visit. He is willing to work weekends to get the job done properly. He charges reasonable prices for all of the hours he spends on the job and in locating perfectly matching baseboards, grout, etc. and in driving to and from the job. He carefully saved all of his receipts to share with us.
We look forward to calling on Sam again when another pipe breaks and/​or we have storm damage or think of something else to remodel. Sam also received the seal of approval from Lucky who is missing him today. Thank you, Sam, for making a great experience out of a scary one.

Simply, Sam is awesome. We will always use him for remolding and anything like that.
We bought a house and closed on it wanting to get it painted. We wanted to move in within two weeks so we were calling tons (more than 10 contractors) and he was the only one that was able to do it on our time line. So, we hired him.
I’ll admit I was nervous about him since he is a one man band, but we needed it done and he did not require full payment up front, just enough for supplies to get started. So, that helped a lot. However, I’m a worry wort so I was still worried.
But, Sam was awesome. He always answered his phone or called back within an hour or two, which put me to ease. He had no opposition to us coming out to the house to check on the work, and actually encouraged it. At one point the living room was taking more coats than expected, so he requested more paint (just to be clear, this was NOT his fault… the previous owner painted the living room DARK PURPLE… almost black…), BUT, he also said we didn’t have to pay him the amount due at half way completed since it wasn’t actually half way completed. Once he did that he had earned 100% of my trust.
In the end it came out AWESOME. His constant communication and not requiring 100% payment up front is how all contractors should be. We will use him for all remodeling related things from now on.

Sam Tuttle is very talented. A true professional, he was punctual like a Swiss watch and totally thorough. After sizing up my bathroom ceiling, Sam and I went to Home Depot and bought building materials for $ 50. He is cheerful and takes pride in each small job I asked him to complete. Sam is more than a handyman, performing «old school» artisan tasks and using all the right tools. By himself, Sam does better than a crew of unmotivated workers, at a fraction of the cost. We even re-​used lumber that most contractors would toss into a dumpster. He easily saved me $ 1000 in one weekend. Sometimes a resourceful one man band — with focus — is all you need.

Sam put in some bamboo flooring for me after my house got water damage from a busted toilet pipe. He did an awesome job! The floor looks flawless and the freshly painted trim boards look great!

Sam also does work at my rental property whenever an issue arises. He’s always prompt when I call him, and he always does a more than satisfactory job.

Sam did a great job installing cabinet pulls throughout the ground floor of our home. He came the day after I called and performed high quality work, very efficiently. He was friendly and trustworthy — I will definitely call him again.

Sam truly blew us away with our french door install. His turn around time from when we contacted him to completion was 2 days. The quality of his construction skills was top notch and the doors were hung perfectly.
As a mom I really enjoyed his people skills with my 5 year old. He made my son laugh several times which was nice, and his assistant is his twenty something son who was also very personable.
Very pleasant experience and we will probably use him next on our kitchen remodel project.
