Cupcaking Desire

The butter cream frosting is simply the BEST we’ve had. We order cupcakes/​cakes every year for each of our birthdays here. We always receive beautiful and delicious desserts.
Alfajores are extremely delicious! I can never just buy one per person.

It seems like all the other bad reviews are because the cake is dry. I didn’t think the cake was dry — it was actually pretty good, but the rest of the cupcake is horrible.
We stopped by for a half-​dozen cupcake on a Saturday night: Fancy Vanilla, Strawberry Field, Choconilla, Red Velvet, Lovemetender and the Charlie Brown.
Don’t get me wrong, I *love* sweets, but the icing on these were over-​the-​top sweet. Like, hurts your teeth sweet. The icing on the Red Velvet was pure butter. It might as well have been a stick of butter on top of that cake. The Lovemetender is made with amaretto which is not a bad thing. But in this case, there is so much liqueur in the cake that amaretto is all you can taste or smell. It really ruins the flavor.
For the price, these are not good cupcakes. IMO, Baked by Amy’s is still the best option in North Austin.

I am so enchanted by this place, and so sad it’s so far from my house. Best cupcakes I’ve ever had, and trust … I eat a lot of cupcakes.
The owner was super nice and signs on the truck state that their products are made from scratch. You can definitely tell! I ordered a strawberry for myself and a chocolate for my husband (knowing that I would get to try his as well).
Cupcake to frosting ratio was perfect, and the frosting was the kind I dream about. I described it as «sugary strawberry butter, but in a good way.» The cupcakes are big, but not huge. The perfect size to not feel guilty about not splitting with someone else.
I was honestly blown away. I am so happy we tried this little truck, and I think that you should too.
I can’t wait to return!

We were dying for a dessert and up in this area the options are few. I had spotted this truck a couple of times and we decided to see what they had. The cupcakes looked good and we grabbed two to go.
I know I got the Thriller as anything with Nutella must go into my belly. My husband got the Dulce de Leche. As a cupcake snob I did not have high expectations, but they completely exceeded them. Moist, fresh cupcakes with original flavors that really taste great!!! The taste wasn’t masked by too much sugar, it was delicious. Not too much frosting, perfectly balanced. The woman who took our order was so friendly and inviting too. She loved that we bought the Thriller cupcake as it was one of her favorites.
I can’t wait to try something else by these folks. There were cookies and a couple of interesting pastries when we were there. I definitely am curious about the alfajores because of others reviews.

I had cupcakes made at Cupcaking Desire and was extremely pleased with the result. I brought in a picture of chocolate coconut cupcakes and the lady I talked to assured me that she could recreate them based on the picture and to my surprise the cupcakes were spot on and even better looking than the picture and really fresh and tasty. My husband really liked them and they were for his birthday. I highly recommend this place to others and will definitely return for more.

Was so excited to get a cupcake today but was sadly disappointed when I bit into my cupcake. I ordered a red velvet and it looked great but the cake was so dry. The only part that was good about it was the custard on top. Grabbed a monkey business cupcake and that one was dry too! The monkey business belonged to a pregnant girl that didn’t eat all her cupcake it was so dry. The strawberry shortcake was fine. The cupcakes are a bit costly too @ 4 dollars and some change. So was not worth it. Unfortunate.

Guys, this is a legit little bakery in a box. Don’t mind the super commercial food truck location at the domain. These cupcakes are the real deal. We tried the choconilla, dulce de leche, and fancy vanilla flavors and I’d be lying if I said two adults and a baby human didn’t finish all three in one sitting. The frosting (esp the buttercream frosting on that fancy vanilla) was so soft and creamy and sugary and delicious. The choconilla had a chocolate ganache filling (OMG) and the fancy vanilla had a WHITE chocolate ganache filling and I’m going to be dreaming about ganache fillings for dayzzz now. I wasn’t a huge fan of the dulce de leche but my hubs ordered it and he devoured it. I do not feel like I paid too much because those were super tasty, fresh cupcakes. But dang, I’m full.

This is probably the best cupcakes I have eaten. The lady was so nice and patient as we were taking our time figuring out what we wanted. We ordered a strawberry, vanilla, and two different types of chocolate cupcakes. We asked about the Brazilian tea and she said it was too good to describe (Good answer). E tried the tea bs it was delicious. We ended up ordering 3 more! Overall it was a good truck with a good vibe, good cupcakes, and good service!

Really good cupcakes but very expensive. The service is fast and the location is wonderful.

Very dry cupcakes heb has fresher cupcakes. Very over priced. So dry not worth the time to try or money. Absolute Waste of money.

Cupcaking desire is an adorable little truck parked in the Lone Star Court in the Domain II. It’s really hard to miss the pink striped truck, and the cupcakes in the display always look so good, I finally decided to try one. The lady working the window was really nice, though it took a lot longer for me to get my cupcake than I thought since it wasn’t busy.
I had a strong craving for a cupcake and was really disappointed by the cupcake I got. I had the chocolate fudge cupcake and it was super dry. It was beautiful (I wish I had taken a picture), but as soon as I took it out of the box and started to unwrap it, it started falling apart. Bummer.
I did try the alfajores, and those are pretty amazing, but in general, I prefer cupcakes, and this one just didn’t do it for me.

We were visiting Austin from Dallas. My daughter has to try all the cupcake places when we travel. She said she’ll eat here again. She liked it as much as Sprinkles in Dallas. Wish there were little bit more selections but for a food truck, they are doing a good job. No cakeballs today. Maybe you have to special order?

They have some of the most creative and delicious cupcakes I have ever had. They also have the best chilled milk to go along with it! We stop here as often as possible for a sweet treat. The owners are so nice and truly take pride in their business and customers. I love that every time I go they always have a new flavor to try. Definitely a must do if your in the domain area.

Pretty yummy cupcake, I had the strawberry one, I wish there were more flavor choices when I was there and options like buy 4 for $ 10 or something like that. Really cute truck and nice set up. Would definitely buy another.

Underwhelming.
This is based on their Tres Leche cake ($ 3.25). Maybe it was a couple of days old, but this cake was drier than a regular cake. Devoid of all moisture, which correct me if I am wrong… moist is a key factor of a Tres Leche cake.
Next time, I hope to try the cupcakes.

I was really glad to stop at your ‘cupcake truck’, named «Cupcaking Desire», this Thanksgiving weekend.
I agree with you that the Domain, where you moved to a week ago, is a much better location than where you were for a couple years on the side of the road on 620, with your potential customers whizzing by at 60mph. It’s certainly better for me, since you’re just a quick jaunt off Mopac. When I enter the Domain from the Braker light, you’re just on the right past Dillards, next to the convenient Lone Star Court boutique hotel parking lot.
But I have a bone to pick with you: Your biz name, and that people call you a ‘cupcake truck’ do you a great disservice.
When I first saw the pics folks were posting, I was like… Yeah, what commercial kitchen is she making this stuff out of? But, no… You technically run a full-​blown ‘mobile bakery’. All the magic is done on wheels. That’s a pretty freaking amazing thing to attempt, much less pull off as well as you do.
Sure, the prices aren’t what I’m spending at the local Mexican or Asian hole-​in-​the-​wall bakery. But sometimes you don’t need a third cheap (and mediocre) pastry, and just want to spend a little bit of time getting to know an alfajores.
And I did. Sure, maybe it was because my wife was out of town. But the alfajores’ creamy dulce de leche filling, sandwiched between two light but pleasingly crisp butter cookies, which i had while sipping a warm coffee in front of a roaring fire while listening to Barry White, and…
Wait. Back on topic.
The alfajores? Legit. The chocolate croissant? Even more legit. I assumed at this point that the cupcake I bought (the «Lovemetender») wouldn’t live up to the hype. But the almond/​Amaretto-​ey cake, with that decadent butter cream… *sigh*
You have as much passion (about ingredients, about doing things the right way) as I would expect from a Brazilian of Italian descent. And it shows. I can’t wait for you to get your Domain-​based feet (well, wheels) underneath you, and ramp up your menu, and start offering your daily no-​gluten option for my wife, and have the other items on your menu for me to try. And I’m intrigued by seeing what «hummingbird-​flavored» means, as I’ve never tasted a hummingbird before. But I’m willing to try.

I had the Fancy Vanilla and the Choconilla. The cupcakes are great in taste the chocolate cupcake was better than the vanilla to me. The icing is amazing. The service was great, the price was comparable to the competition at $ 3. Next time I’m looking for a cupcake I will definitely support this local cupcake truck. I was impressed by the design quality right down the packaging. The taste is great not overwhelming sweet and not heavy. the chocolate flavor was very memorable also. I don’t have much to say beside give it a try! I’m not a cupcake expert, but these was pretty damn good. I’m looking forward to trying the other varieties
