I sincerely hope that my fitness tracker is underestimating my calorie expenditure. If not, the Alamo Dog with grilled bell pepper and onions is about an hour on my bike. The bun and shaved fries are another two. So I can either never eat this again or spend far more time riding. Does anybody know where I can find a butt pillow for my bike?

Tried this today and it was a total mistake. Sign said to ask about specials. I did. The«daily special» is that they promote a particular item — no discount or bonus, just encourage you to buy. I went for their signature BLT($ 8) and fries. 30 minutes of sitting in the heat before it finally arrived. Not exactly swamped, just me and a couple of ladies already seated, waiting for their order. Bit into it and got a mouthful of undercooked very fatty bacon. Gross. It was thick bacon and probably good when crisp. I pulled off about ½ the sandwich and tried again but still chomped down on globs of fat. Actually had to spit it out and then threw the rest away. On the bright side, the fries were great. And the owner/manager had come around checking on us earlier. She was nice, said the guy taking orders was new and she wanted to double check what we had ordered. I should have pushed for a refund but couldn’t get anyone’s attention and had already been there far too long. When I left, the ladies who ordered before me were still waiting on their burgers. I won’t be back.

I Came here one evening with my wife. We had ordered two burgers and chili fries and to our dismay we only received one burger with the chili fries. The guy who was working that night was very rude as he gave my wife the food he slammed the window and didn’t say anything. Once we pointed out his mistake he seemed to be pissed that he had to make another burger. We were the only customers and then another guy had ordered following us. After the last gentlemen had ordered a lady from the apartments came out and wanted to order and the guy said they were temporarily closed? even though they had an open sign on the window. I feel this place must be short staffed especially around the evening time from 6 – 8 pm. We had arrived at the Domain around 5 pm and seen he was the only employee at that point as well. The reason why I dropped it from 4 or 5 stars to 3 is simply because of the employee being rude, otherwise I would have raised it as the food was pretty decent.

The Mac and cheese sounded great, but they were out despite it being the early afternoon on a Friday. I was told the gumbo had«gone bad» so that was off the menu. My server suggested he could whip up some pulled pork tacos and I said that sounded fine. He suggested fries and with a lone star my total was $ 13. Food came out quickly enough. Tacos were just pulled pork on a tortilla with iceberg lettuce and chopped tomato(despite being called pico on the menu board). I felt like it was dry and noticed that the menu said the tacos came with a chipotle dressing that was missing. I asked for a side of the dressing, I don’t mind mix ups, but then was told they were«out» of the dressing as well. I was pretty offended that an incomplete menu item was suggested to me. And without the dressing the tacos were a complete waste of money. The fries are like the ones you get in a bag in a vending machine and there is no ketchup at the location. Awful meal. Confounding service. I felt cheated out of 13 bucks(w/a $ 1 tip for what I won’t ever know). Would not recommend.

I won’t be returning. 40 minutes for Mac and cheese off the«Quick Bites» menu, and profuse apologies for having to take care of the«VIP» group of about 10 before me… Yet they waited just as long, if not longer, for their food. That aside, the«Roasted poblano mac and cheese with chopped bacon and sour cream» came out as barely passable, plain mac and cheese. Maybe you’ll have better luck, but I remain sorely disappointed.

As Domain residents, we have been looking forward to the opening of The Feed Store since early spring. We were stoked to have a food truck so close by, as well as an additional rotating Austin truck they told us would be added to the mix. Visit 1: Po’boy and fries. Kind of disappointing. Moving on, because we really want this to work out… Visit 2: Credit card machine is down. We don’t happen to have cash on us. Our bad, no biggie. Next? Visit 3: Stevie Ray Vaughn’s brother is in town and apparently wiped them out of food? Just our luck. Visit 4: We arrive. Truck is clearly open. Wait 15 minutes. No one shows. We try to call the hotel to see what’s up. No one answers. We give it another 5… And give up. So far, incredibly disappointing. Heart-breaking, even. Our tummies are empty and our expectations dismayed. Despite the enticing menu, we will not be wasting anymore evenings hoping for service. What’s the point of a local food truck if we can never take advantage of it? Hopefully the hotel guests are receiving better service, I guess.

Pretty good and fresh food. I’m a sucker for their fries. Their pulled pork tostada also was tasty(see pictures) and had a lot of flavor. The sauce was pretty good too! i want to come back on a Friday and try out their veggie pizza!

Hours Breakfast 7am-10am Lunch 11am-2pm Dinner 4pm-10m So I walked up to this trailer in front of the Loan Star Hotel after seeing it open for about a week now. The guy who greeted me was so kind and friendly. I ordered the Mac and cheese 16ouz portion It wasn’t very cheesy but very tasty with the bacon and sour cream topping. The portion was huge for $ 4. Gumbo 16oz $ 4 It was pretty good but I probably won’t order it again. It seemed to have a gravy type consistency/base. It was filled with chicken and sausage. red and yellow bell peppers, okra, onion. The burger was huge. $ 8 ½lb or more with roasted peppers and queso fresco. It was cooked rare so I will ask for it med rare next time. I feel the patty could have been seasoned more bit the beef tasted like a good quality meet. The queso fresco was not my favorite pairing since the patty was somewhat bland. It came on a toasted bun. Over all I liked this place. It’s affordable, especially for the domain. I will be back. Their breakfast menu looks good. I can’t wait to try their chicken and waffles.
