Excellent service from making appointment to completing inspection. We were out of state and needed a thorough and comprehensive inspection and we got just that. Report came in quickly and we were able to use it to negotiate needed repairs prior to closing.

Thorough and professional quality. I am so pleased with the home inspection by DBL Check. After Jason inspected my home, foundation, porches and carports, he discussed his findings with me so that I would have a thorough understanding. He took dozens of pictures and used them in our discussion. In addition, I promptly received a 42 page report with the pictures and verbage we discussed. vI have used their report to discuss issues with contractors. I feel much more confident discussing what needs to be done because of the report. I would do the home inspection with DBL Check again in a heartbeat. Great value for the money.

Jason came out to do my home inspection almost 8 weeks ago and I’ve been thinking about how I need to write this review ever since but got caught up with buying the condo and moving in — Suffice it to say, to think about a review for such a long time — He was phenomenal! I’ve kept his name and number and will not only use him when I consider buying any other home, but I definitely want to have him come check out my house every couple of years!
He was so friendly and helpful — My boyfriend and I tagged along through the inspection and he was so kind in explaining what he was finding and even suggesting ways to get these elements fixed. His report was great and was a huge help in closing on our place. You’d be crazy not to hire these folks in your option period!

We are now under contract for a different property, and Jason completed our inspection. He showed up promptly, and I tagged along for most of the inspection. He alerted me to issues as they arose and explained how we should maintain various aspects of the home. At the conclusion of the inspection, he gave me an overall assessment of the home and how it compares to other homes in the neighborhood.
Because of some items that came up on inspection, my realtor and I wanted to schedule HVAC, electrical and plumbing professionals to look at the house the next day. Jason turned around our report very quickly so that we could show the contractors the report.
Overall, I was very impressed with the customer service, professionalism and thorough inspection with DBL Check. Highly recommended!

Jason Henley and DBL Check were very professional. Before the appointment they were in contact with me via email and telephone to check to see if I had any pre-​appointment questions.
Jason, both on the phone and in person, was friendly, approachable, helpful, incredibly thorough and spent time explaining his findings. Afterwards I felt very confident that I knew exactly what I was buying and how to fix the issues in the property he inspected.
Jason took many photos and went through them with me and took as long as I needed to understand what he was explaining. The report was in my email box within hours and described the issues in layman’s terms and what the fixes would be. Combined with photos that had arrows to show what it was referring too, means that I can keep going back to the report to remind myself what needs to be fixed.
I would not hesitate to fully recommend DBL Check to anyone as my experience of them was that they offer an outstanding service.

You won’t find a better inspector in Austin. I have had 5 inspections done with Aaron and his team and he has saved me a lot of heartache by allowing me to avoid the true money pits. True, every home-​especially older ones, have issues. And Aaron will find them all in very extensive, yet easy to assimilate reports. Lots of photos, detailed call-​outs, and also easy recaps in the major areas of house systems. His reports also educate you as to WHY a particular issue is of concern. If feel like I’ve had an excellent education by working with Aaron.
And, I’m happy to report that I finally found the right home for me, sure it had issues, but I’ve gone in with eyes wide open and have a great plan in place thanks to Aaron and his team. DBL Check has the right equipment to properly test your systems – which in my case meant they found an issue that even the professional electrician missed at one of the outlets. I was able to negotiate an new electric panel and other plumbing fixes, which certainly compensated me for the cost of the inspection.
On a personal note, these guys are just great to work with. Smart, low-​key and good humored. They are reliable and professional in all ways. The stressful process of home buying was made much less so knowing I had Aaron on my side. Needless to say, I highly recommend DBL Check!
Note: Just make sure you book them early in the process, so you can get them in early during your option period.

If I could rate 5 million stars I would! I can not communicate strongly enough on how pleased I am with the professional and thorough inspection I received from Jason at DBL Check. His report was amazing, clear up close photos with notes explaining the repairs needed. Nothing got past him. Jason also has the best personality! From the moment I spoke with the DBL Check office I was confident I was in great hands. I could not be anymore pleased with DBL Check!

Jason Henley and Aaron were invaluable in the purchase of our new home. We heard through a recommendation that they had great reviews on Angie’s List so we called them to come and inspect a home we were purchasing. They worked it out so they were able to come out during our contract option period. They showed up on time and completed a very thorough inspection. We are so grateful they did because they found so many problems and we were able to get out of the money pit that house would have become. Since then, we put a bid on another house and of course we called Jason and Aaron right away. They, once again, arrived on time and gave us the most extensive and comprehensive inspection. And I love that they took the time to explain everything in the inspection. They really exceeded our expectations and were polite, trustworthy, and professional. Aaron came out to inspect a home my husband and I had purchased and he was a pleasure to work with. He was polite and professional, easy to chat with, and he allowed me to tag along on his thorough inspection of the house the entire time (a few hours) and explained everything in layman’s terms so I could understand the importance of some needed repairs. His awesome thermal imaging equipment identified some major leakage in the duct system of the house, which ended up being a major repair we negotiated with the seller before closing. The final inspection report that Aaron provided has proven incredibly useful, as we’ve been able to forward it to repairmen and contractors to get estimates and prioritize repairs. We’ll definitely be contacting Aaron again for any future home inspections!

DBL Check (Aaron and one assistant) performed an extremely thorough inspection on a 100+ year-​old home I’d restored before I listed it for sale so that I could be on top of any repairs that I’d overlooked. Sure enough, he found a few hidden oversights that turned out to be extremely important to repair, not only for re-​sale, but for anyone’s safety while living in the house!
After this inspection, I’ve decided that a periodic inspection of my home is imperative and I will definitely call DBL Check again for the next one.

I’ve purchase many properties and can tell you that I have never met an inspector that even closely measures up to Aaron.
Recently he saved me from what could have been 10s of thousands of dollars in repairs on a house I had under contract. I knew this property had «issues» but his keen eye spotted much more. He provides a detailed reports and followed u with me.
I highly recommend Aaron… but please don’t over book him… save room for me :)

We had read so many good reviews on Unilocal that I was convinced that I should choose DBL Check to do my home inspection. We had an 8:30 scheduled and he arrived at 8:15 to get started. We were present during the home inspection but let him do his stuff so we wouldn’t get in the way. He took his time and spent close to 3 hours on the inspection. After that he sat with us and went through each and every detail by showing us pictures that he had taken. As promised he sent us the report by the end of the day. It is a very detailed report with pictures and he summarizes all the major findings in the end.
In short we were very happy with this service and highly recommend Aaron. He gets booked up pretty fast. We wanted him in on a Mon or latest by Tuesday, but the earliest we could get him was the coming Friday. We’re glad we waited. So make sure you call as soon as you decide you need a home inspection.

Showed up on time and took his time checking the house from the inside out. Very detailed and great report with pictures noting each thing that needed correction. I was lucky nothing major was found, but the thermal camera pointed out where the insulation needed redone.
Aaron was polite professional and I would use him again.

I hired Aaron for a pre-​closing inspection for a new construction home. Aaron was extremely thorough and caught many issues that I would have missed myself. He even did a thermal imaging test (to test for areas of poor insulation) for free (included in new construction inspection). Another service he performed (also included in the inspection) is foundation level measurements. This would be useful later on to see if the foundation shifted (common due to our soil). He then created a detailed report of his findings with photos, which made it easy for me to forward to the builder for correction. Aaron even came by again to DBL Check (pun intended) that a tricky repair was done correctly on his own time. I have since recommended Aaron to several friends who were purchasing new homes. I will be hiring Aaron again for my pre-​warranty expiration inspection.

We are in the process of purchasing a home and encountered time constraints to schedule an inspection. Without an existing relationship with a home inspector, we consulted Unilocal in search of someone competent that could complete the service in a timely manner, after those recommended by our realtor were unable to commit within the short time frame. With nothing but excellent ratings, we chose to contact DBL Check. Aaron was very prompt in responding to our inquiry and explained his services in detail. He followed up quickly with questions and returned calls as promised. He arrived at the house earlier than the scheduled inspection time and stayed until we were comfortable with his report, leaving no questions unanswered.
Aaron’s use of technology makes his inspection state-​of-​the-​art. Two techniques of his inspection process that made him stand out above others were the compu-​level tool for foundations and infrared camera detection technology. Though the home we’re purchasing is only five years old, there were foundation concerns due to settling. Aaron was able to assure us that previous issues had been resolved. He also verified that the home is adequately insulated with his infrared camera.
Not only was Aaron’s inspection thorough beyond our expectations, he was a pleasure to work with. By the time we finished spending the morning with him, we felt like we had been advised by, not only a highly credible professional, but also a friend that truly had our best interests as home buyers at heart. He explained everything in complete detail and assured us that if there are any questions or future needs, he will eagerly assist us in anyway possible, including providing documentation from his inspection.

Last night, when we walked into our house, it smelled like electrical fire. Not that I’m an expert on the matter, but a plasticky, chemical-​like burning smell, without any apparent flames, sparks, or smoke, does make you darn suspicious of an electrical fire. We opened the windows and turned on the ceiling fans. Although the smell disappeared, our anxiety didn’t.
This morning, I called Aaron at DBL Check, and he was at our house within a matter of hours, just to make sure we weren’t in any immediate danger. While he assured us that our outlets and wiring were all currently fine, he did point out a few other items that needed to be updated, and he will be connecting us with an electrician right away. Back when I bought the house in 2004, either the inspector then did not stress these items enough, or he didn’t mention them at all. He should have made it blatantly clear, though, just the way Aaron did today!
The most probable cause of the electrical smell was an overly-​dusty fan that we cleaned before Aaron showed up this morning. (Fun with sly, intermittent problems…) Regardless, we’ll have an electrician showing up soon, and soon we’ll be on our way to being anxiety free.
