I heard of Escom through my mother, who had a security system placed in her home around 6 years ago. My brother and I both had the security systems installed at our homes last year. My brother had the fire alarm installed as well, fortunately for him. During December, I received a call from my brother to please go over and check his home, as the smoke alarm had sent him an alert. As I drove up, I could see flames on top of his stove through the window. I was able to extinguish the flames with only damage to the stove. Yesterday they installed the smoke alarms in my house as well. Great folks and a great product. I highly recommend their service to everyone. Putting in those smoke alarms was a whole lot cheaper than rebuilding from a burnt pile of rubble, which was what would have happened in my brothers’ case.

I met Jeff Banks almost 18 years ago when he came to install a security system after a serious incident in my apartment. Since then every house I have been in he/​ESCOM continues to recommend the appropriate security system– designs and installs. His son Kyle has taken on much of this responsibility now. Kyle Banks (and his father Jeff before him) are the best. We bought our home six years ago, which was built in the mid-​1980s, and did a complete remodel. The original alarm system was still installed, which only allowed one code. While looking through all the papers concerning the house that the seller gave to us, I found the original invoice for the installation and thought what the heck, I’ll call but I’m sure this business is long gone since there are almost no local alarm/​security companies anymore, just the huge national chains like Brinks. Amazingly, Jeff answered the phone! He came out to our house to talk to us about a new system — and he remembered installing the original system. He has a mind like a computer and was fascinating to talk to. So these guys have been in Austin a LONG time and have extensive experience.
He and Kyle got our great new system installed, including motion sensors and glass breakage monitors. We’ve had Kyle out several times since to make small adjustments, and he has always been friendly, professional and efficient. Escom also works with a very good monitoring company if you want your system to be monitored.
Folks, when it comes to your security system, go local. Call Kyle and he will explain why this is so important — and why you do not want to use one of those huge companies, especially if your system is going to be monitored.

Been a happy customer for years now. I’ve had everything from a full hard wired smoke alarm, to multiple ethernet drops around the house, to heavy duty LCD TV mounts and stereo conduit run through our brick fireplace, to infrared cameras for baby rooms, and not to mention years of security alarm monitoring. These are MULTIPLE installs over various times ranging from months to years apart and each visit was literally perfect. They believe in hiding every wire and blending seamlessly… and it’s true… it’s like a ghost passed through the house and a high-​end solution was magically delivered. This is how service should be!

BJ came and hooked up a nice security system on our home today and the cost was very reasonable. Showed up when he was scheduled and told us about the different systems they sell, there was no hard sell, very nice guy and very well informed. We think we got a great package for a reasonable price, for a lot less than other companies.
