Absolutely love Fricanos! They did the impossible, and made me like pickles haha. I always get the chicken pesto salad sandwich. So delicious! The bread is pretty hard so be careful because it might scrape the roof of your mouth. The portions are huge but you can always get the sandwich in half, or get the full and eat the rest for later! Side note: They play their music pretty loud so be prepared to speak up.

Had the Pauls Reuben. My husband had the Pauls spicy Reuben sandwich. Both were great. Would come again!

Fricano’s is a MUST. My favorite thing to get here is The Madison with a side of the Italian Pasta Salad. They always play the best music inside and there’s patio seating outside as well. Fricano’s is just a great place to eat great food and hang out, and it’s my favorite restaurant on the drag by far!

Hands down the best sandwich shop in town. Loyalty program is a no brainer because it is always great to get back there. The turkeys and cheeses are all so good. Also, the black and white cookie makes me feel at home(NYer). So nice here as well. Great seating outside on a beautiful day

Such a great sandwich! I got the Turkey special and loved it! I think the reason why their sandwiches taste so good is because their bread is made in store and fresh. Also, their sandwiches are served very hot which makes it taste even better! I would definitely come here again!

Delicious sandwich and pasta salad! The salad was definitley over priced for its portion size but it was light and fresh. The Cajun sandwich had a kick to it but was really good. One thing is that if you get the sandwich toasted, the toast rips through the roof of your mouth because it is so toasty and sharp.

If you want a huge, New York style Sammy full of flavor and fix ins then fricanos is your spot. Located in the heart of west campus, be prepared to leave with a full and happy stomach. I love how they now have half sandwich options, so I ordered the ultimate roast beef half on wheat. Perfectly toasted and sauced, and with a variety of veggies to make you feel slightly healthy as well! I’ve also made my own sandwich before, which was just as delicious. Quick, yummy, filling but slightly healthy– no wonder Fricano’s has made it on to multiple«Austin eats» list!

Sandwiches, am I right? This place is perfect to pick up some lunch before eating lunch at Pease Park. I was impressed with the efficiency of this place and the well mannered workers. I love the Madison, which is has pesto, tomatoes, mozerella and basil leaves. The portions are big enough to split into 2 meals. If you want a yummy sammy, this is the place to go.

I always order the Ainsworth… basically they prepare a random combination on the spot… and it ALWAYS turns out to be DELICIOUS.

My go to lunch(and consequently dinner, because each sandwich is easily 2 meals for me) spot near campus – there are 3 vegetarian sandwiches on the menu and you can build your own if you don’t want any of the specials. In order of personal preference: Veggie Reuben, JJ’s Veggie, and The Madison. The Veggie Reuben doesn’t particularly stand out on the menu but the ingredients work beautifully together and it is one of the most memorable sandwiches I have ever had(1000 island, sauerkraut, swiss, etc…). JJ’s Veggie is a close second – be sure to get jalapeño cream cheese on this sandwich. I’m not an avocado person at all, but I will gladly eat the avocados in all 3 of these sandwiches. Get everything grilled!

It’s rare that I crave a sandwich, but Paul’s Spicy Reuben is my jam. So much meat. Such an epic sandwich. The mix of peppers and sauerkraut is happiness between two lightly toasted slices of bread. I’m fairly certain that you could serve me the sliced peppers and sauerkraut into a bucket and I’d be happier than ever, but putting that mix on a sandwich is just deliciousness overkill. I’m in love with a sammich. Duuuude.

I absolutely love fricanos! It’s super close to campus and super delicious! There’s also a variety of seating inside and out. I’ve come during their busiest hours and there are still tables available. I normally get the Madison which has pesto sauce, avocados, tomatoes, mozzarella and basil leaves. It’s absolutely amazing!!! The portion size is fairly large so it’s about 2 meals for me. I haven’t tried other sandwiches but I will be back soon to try the Reuben! Definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area and craving sandwiches.

I rarely order sandwiches and if it wasn’t for a working lunch this week I may have missed out on how good Fricano’s Deli is. The sandwich portions are huge! I could only finish ½ of my Turkey Special. Next time I will order the combo of ½ sandwich and side salad for $ 8.75. I didn’t indulge in the chips and soft cookies they were served with but my coworkers surely enjoyed them. The Turkey Special is served with shaved slices of turkey, crunchy cucumber, fresh sprouts, smear of avocado & provolone. If you are looking for a filling deli lunch near the drag(or have it delivered) Fricano’s is a solid option.

I love this place. For a relatively quick, very filling, and affordable meal on campus, I think Fricano’s is hard to beat. I haven’t ordered anything here that I don’t enjoy; however, I default towards the Reuben. Free wi-fi, a frequent eater punch card(I FINALLYFILLEDMINE!), and TVs make Fricano’s an even better spot. Just be wary that the shared parking lot is good for an hour. I believe my review is #400 — like others have said, come here.

Well, after a run of good things, it seems some summer staff has ruined the deli. I was the only person in line and waited 15 minutes for my sandwich … which was burnt. Super. The cashier was also pretty helpless when I asked about using my receipt to get my loyalty card stamped later(Bc id forgotten it).

This was my go-to sandwich shop during my college years. After they relocated to west campus, people went nuts. Why? The sandwiches here don’t get old because there are so many things to get, especially the spicy ainsworth. Leave it up to the cook to make a sandwich creation that you’ll probably like. Note that this is only for those that are brave enough to try something new. In terms of portion sizes and cost, a meal is around $ 8-$ 10. Expensive you might think, but the sandwich is pretty big so you can save the other half for another meal or snack. They have a 1 hour parking lot, but you can also park out on the street nearby. Be careful though! This sandwich is lethal. The roof of your mouth will be pretty cut up because of the bread.

Tip: Sandwiches are heavy and very filling but i wasnt a big fan of the meat, kinda tough. The Flyin Hawaiian is actually pretty good! I was a little dissapointed. The reviews made this place sound real good. I ordered the Flying Hawaiian which has bacon, jalapeño, pineapple, and ham. Actually a good blend of flavors and pretty spicy! The ham though was kinda tough to bite through. We also got the Turkey Special which was good according to my wife. We also got the Pizza sandwich for the kids but the meat was way too hard for them to eat. They kept pulling it out of the bread. Finally we told the kids to just pick out the meat and eat it separate. Place: the inside is small and ecletic(its austin!) and there are some tables on the outside deck. Service: the girl at the register was nice and knew her menu well and was helpful. Price: expect sandwiches to be about $ 8
