Get Maid Already

We used them right before our 2010 BBQ party awhile back. Since I just had a baby at the time and a 5 year old, cleaning as well as we normally do wasn’t our number one priority, so I decided to use them and they were great! I wanted to make sure to bookmark them to use again in the future, which I definitely am.

Moving out from my last apartment was a trip. From the movers coming a day late, to a truly bizarre experience trying to use a new cleaning service, I was asking myself tough questions like, «What karmic debt am I being made to repay right now?» and «Am I a bad person?»
Working with Get Maid Already was refreshingly easy, pleasant, and affordable. After recounting the weird experience with my original cleaner at work, my colleague Phil recommended that I look these guys up. They sent a team of two that did a bang up job. When they finished earlier than expected they actually charged me less than the original estimate. With the Unilocal deal (recommended) it was a steal. The best part? They did such a great job that we got 100% of our deposit back, even after living with a dog in the unit for two years.
I will update the review to include the name of the two women who came to my apartment. They were on-​time and super friendly and I would welcome them back into my home anytime.

Great experience with this service! The cleaners were prompt, professional and thorough. The fifth star goes out to great service. I had a Unilocal voucher, which I didn’t realize was only good if you had minimum 2 hours cleaning (my place was about 1.5 hours), they honored it anyway since the minimum wasn’t brought up when I booked. Much appreciated! I do recommend Get Maid Already for cleaning services.

I’ve tried about four or five cleaning services in Austin and this one is the best. They are CONSISTENT, honest, friendly and a great value. Once, they refunded us because they cleaned our home in less than the estimated time. Another time, they called for authorization because they thought it might take a little longer, but they didn’t end up needing the time. The checklist they leave is great and I use it myself when cleaning for guests.

I would not recommend this cleaning service-​for anything! I hired this company to do a «move out» cleaning for our home, which we were selling. The prospective buyers did a walk through of the house, the night the «cleaning» was allegedly done. My realtor called to let me know the buyers were very upset about the cleanliness of Laundry room and other areas in the home. To say I was stunned, would be a major understatement. I went to the house the next morning to see what they were upset about. OMG the laundry room was not cleaned at all. Several rooms in the house were not even vacuumed. The garage was not swept, one of services I specifically asked to be done. There was cat vomit left in two of the rooms. One of the bathrooms still had stains in it. The space where the refrigerator had been was not cleaned at all. I could go on and on about things that were not cleaned. This non-​cleaning almost stopped the closing on the house. I called Get Maid Already and Niki said no one could come until later that day (my closing was at 1pm). She called back and said they could come over, but it was 11 and no way could they finish all that needed to be done. My wonderful neighbor and I did the best we could to actually clean the house. I sent pictures of everything that was not done-​you would think they would be embarrassed to take any of my payment. That is not what happened. I disputed the charge. They responded to the dispute, and were paid. Unbelievable —
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY– you will be disappointed

Great service! They make everything easy for you. Staff is very professional & friendly. They are quick but everything cleaned well.

After reading the «response» to my review I’m even more disgusted.
«We can’t know for certain that this task was even communicated to us.» Really? You needed me to tell you to clean the doors? Maybe I should have just been present the entire time to make sure you cleaned what you were supposed to clean. Note to self.
Why didn’t you just refer to your own list of what a move out consists of (it’s listed here on Unilocal since you’ve apparently forgotten)? Or better yet… maybe the person who called me to ask about what could be left off since she «wouldn’t have enough time» (still don’t understand what takes so long in an empty apartment… EMPTY…NOTHING IN IT…) should have been taking notes… so she knew what I had approved to be left off. Thereby alleviating any confusion on what she was being PAID to clean.
It’s your JOB… it’s what I HIRED you for. So you’re supposed to do what I pay for… not make excuses for a poorly done job after the fact.
As for the snide remark about my review being overly lengthy… your response was even longer. I’m sure after reading your flowery, condescending response, people can read between the lines and see that you seem like you care about the customer until that customer is unhappy… and then you tell them, basically, that you don’t care, it’s not guaranteed because I didn’t want to pay MORE MONEY.
Also, you can see by my history I rarely give out 1 star reviews. I’m not one of these people running around trying to ruin businesses. If Josh had even slightly attempted to make things right, I would have been ok, but he didn’t…which is reflected in the 1 star review.

Real pleased — the place was spotless and was in such good shape that we didn’t owe anything to our old apartment. Price was reasonable and you get your money’s worth. Get Maid even stayed a little longer and didn’t charge us for those extra minutes. Definitely gonna call them again.

I’m going to put this as plainly as I can… DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.
I hired them to do a make-​ready cleaning of my house prior the closing of the sale, but only after talking to their owner Josh on the phone about my concerns based on other Unilocal reviews. He assured me they would send their best crew, do a great job, and if we were not happy, they would fix it.
Josh estimated it would take 3 hours to clean my house, plus or minus. After three hours the cleaners called and told me they needed two additional hours to clean the two spare bedrooms after she assured me everything else was done. These bedrooms were NEVER USED and the doors were kept closed. I told the girl it was ridiculous to say it would take that much time to clean the unused bedrooms, and that I would only authorize one more hour. I told the girl that if she needed more time she would need to call back and explain what they couldn’t get done. She agreed and never called back.
When I got home, I discovered that the invoice showed the job was completed, but they had charged me for 4.5 hours– half an hour more than I agreed to. I was thinking– no big deal, as long as the job was done. Upon inspecting the cleaning, they had done a TERRIBLE job. Here’s a list of issues.
1. The wood blinds were cleaned, but the windows behind them were not, they were filthy.
2. The floors were cleaned, but they didn’t scrub any spots off, forgot to mop the laundry area and pantry, didn’t clean spots around the sink, stove, dishwasher, or washing machine. Whatever product they used to clean the floors left them sticky and showing every footprint across them. (The house has all bamboo flooring and tile in the wet areas.)
3. The walls were not dusted AT ALL– there was significant dust and cobwebs left around the house. Ceiling fans were dusted, but poorly.
4. The shower was poorly cleaned and still had stains
5. They did not do any spot cleaning on the walls as was promised.
6. The products they used smelled terrible– like chemicals. It gave me a headache to stay in the house.
7. Blinds and windowsills in the stairway were completely ignored
When I called Josh to complain, he told me IT WAS MY FAULT the cleaning wasn’t completed b/​c I wouldn’t authorize them to work the additional time– because apparently half an hour would have fixed all of the above issues. (??) He also refused to come look at the condition of the house b/​c it was «already 5:30.» He told me he would only come fix the issues if I paid him for his time– Some kind of guarantee, huh?
I hired this company because they offered a competitive price and offered to do things other companies didn’t– such as spot clean walls– and because they offered a guarantee. I also incorrectly assumed the work would be inspected by a supervisor. Josh refused to even come look at the work. The will was for OVER $ 320!!!
Now, I’m going to have to hire someone else to come in and re-​clean. Get Maid Already might have lower rates, but they made up for it by being terribly slow and having horrible costumer service. When I told Josh I would write this review, he said he didn’t care, he would just counter it, as he has all of the others.
Save yourself a big headache and don’t hire this company.

We used Get Maid Already when we first moved to Austin last spring. It was easy to make the appointment on the phone, and they were friendly and flexible about working with our realtor to get access to the house (we were moving back to Austin from a temporary out of state location).
The place was empty, so it was a «make ready» sort of cleaning. They did a pretty good job. The biggest «misses» were the harder to reach high spots (tops of cabinets. top shelves in closets, and corners of high ceilings). I think if we’d been there to oversee the process, we’d have caught the missed spots before they left. To their credit, they offered to come back out, but by that time we’d already moved in and it just wasn’t convenient to have someone come in at that point.
I’d use them again, but I’d want to be around to double check the results.

I found Get Maid Already on Unilocal and hired them for a Move Out to get our house ready to hang over to its new owners after closing. Our crew did a great job. I didn’t provide a ton of instruction and was really happy to see they hadn’t overlooked details like the fridge, oven and baseboards.
The service ($ 175 with a $ 25 coupon) was a little more expensive than I thought it would be, but with everything else going on during a move $ 200 is a small price to pay for having one less thing to worry about.

They were late, but it was ACL weekend and I live in Barton Hills so as expected. I noticed a shelf that they completely missed that is covered in dust, but the overall job was well done. Place is clean and without a single dog hair from my roommate that just moved out. Place looks good, not I just have to keep it that way.
½ baths count as whole baths for the price which is a little lame, but overall I am satisfied.

I’m nearly 2 months late in putting this up but I just found myself recommending them to a friend and realized I never gave them credit where it was due!!!
Price: I got a clean out service for a 1400 sqft apartment with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths (2 hours) for close to $ 200 even. And it’s a real deep clean that’s worth its weight in gold when you’re trying to move and are so totally over all the chores you have to do. My home wasn’t downright filthy, but the toilets and oven especially needed love. If you need more than the 2 hours, you will have to pay for it, but still it’s worth not having to do yourself :)
Crew: The crew I had were very polite and thorough. We did have to point a few things out on final walk through but we had a total chaotic nightmare with the movers having to come hours later than expected so the house was not completely empty as required for this type of cleaning. That they were able to roll with it and still do such a stellar job blows me away. And the touch ups they did without complaint. I was not charged any damages upon move out for cleaning. They did a great job.
Scheduling: Josh was super friendly on the phone and very responsive by email. I had no issue working everything out.
Customer Service: I can’t underscore this category enough for making or breaking a business for me…
The crew did arrive a little late but that was mostly due to trying to find my location which is difficult for even my friends on a good day. When I alerted Josh, on a Saturday no less, he called and found out what was going on and communicated back. I let him know when they arrived and he responded. That dedication to ensuring follow through of your employees shows pride in your reputation and the willingness to do what it takes to recover when mistakes happen (because we’re human and they happen).
We had an issue with the oven door breaking during the deep clean (due to old springs in the hinge and then trying to finagle it back in). There was ABSOLUTELY no hassle from Josh on taking care of the damages. I got the bill from my apartment, and he cut me a check. No push back, no delays. It was such a tremendous relief not to have to worry about paying for that.
Now that we are in our new home, we plan on using them a few times a year for deep cleaning tasks and I will gladly recommend them to anyone looking for a professional team.
Note to apartment folks: Try to schedule their visit about 5 days ahead of move-​out. They do guarantee the work to come back and re-​clean, however most complexes won’t accept their services for cleaning infractions and will hire their own and bill you for the damages. And if they’re like my old complex, once they do final walk-​through, you don’t get a chance to go back in and fix anything. So have them come out early, go through your checklist of move-​out items and make sure everything is done and call back if needed. We stayed on site with the crew and went through the checklist before they left. We had no issues on move-​out and I would be confident in having them do it again — but mistakes happen so double check to protect yourself.
I’m VERY pleased with the service I received beginning to end and would highly recommend them to anyone with cleaning needs.

I have a pretty clean home as it is, I just needed a good deep clean, all of my surfaces are de-​cluttered. Two girls and 3 hours and they completely missed obvious kitchen counter surfaces and skipped an entire room all together, like completely. I was so upset that I had spent the money to come home to a house that was still dirty. Wouldn’t recommend.

I’m writing this negative review for two reasons — 1) I had a poor experience with this company and I feel other people should know that their supposed «guarantee» has a few caveats (2) The cleaning crew made a $ 20 mistake that I got charged for and the owner refused to refund me the charge.
I purchased the «Apartment Move-​Out» package from Get Maid Already. I spoke on the phone with the owner, Josh, to schedule my appointment. He assured me that the cleaning was «guaranteed» and that if I was charged for anything, Get Maid Already would be responsible for it. Unfortunately, when his crew failed to clean something on the Apartment Move Out cleaning list — and I got charged for it — Josh did not follow through with his claim.
Apparently, the definition of «guarantee» according to Get Maid Already means that Josh will bring his cleaning crew back to your apartment to REDO the job. It does not mean that they will compensate you for any charges you receive because the cleaning crew didn’t do their work the first time.
So, a few things need to happen:
1) You need to schedule your initial appointment far before your lease is up — allow enough time for them to potentially come back to clean your apartment again
2) You need to perform a thorough inspection of the apartment, just like your leasing office would do and hold them accountable.
3) If you find a mistake, you need to reschedule another appointment with the maid service, have them re-​clean, and then you need to reinspect… OR ensure that your apartment will allow an outside cleaning crew (other than the one they likely contract with) to redo the apartment after their inspection — something my apartment was unwilling to do.
I was not present, so I could not check their work until after they had already left. When I came back to inspect the apartment, I noticed a few things not done to the specifications — some floors not swept, some cabinets not cleaned — but most noticeably the oven wasn’t cleaned. I had the cleaning crew come the day my lease was up. I had no choice but to turn in my keys with the dirty oven as-​is, and hope that Get Maid Already would stand by their work.
I emailed Josh when I returned home and notified him of the items. His response: «I am sorry to hear that the job was not completed. Please let me know if there is any issues with the leasing manager and I will make arrangements for a team to touch up what was missed. The Move Out cleans are guaranteed, so please don’t hesitate to let me know if there is something we can do.»
Well, I had already turned in the keys — thus, releasing my claim to the apartment. Further, the apartment doesn’t consider their bill a «warning» where residents are allowed to come back in after the fact and clean up whatever they’re going to be charged for! Josh insists this is the policy of most apartment complexes — and that my apartment is to be blamed for not allowing them back in to fix their mistake. I doubt this. In fact, by the time I received the bill, it had already been re-​cleaned and someone was already living in my apartment.
Despite the fact that HIS crew didn’t do their job fully, Josh maintained there was nothing he could do and he wouldn’t refund me the $ 20. Instead, he continued to blame my apartment complex for not letting them come back and redo their work — missing the point they should have done it correctly to begin with. Finally, he ends with this statement, in which he apparently thinks it’s OK to make mistakes every once in awhile: «Remember ALL services and products have flaws from time to time. Businesses’ reputation should be based how they respond, and how they treat their customers when something is wrong with the product. I think we are hitting on all cylinders here.»
Unfortunately, I disagree. After spending $ 150 on an apartment move-​out package, the true cost was $ 170. I am in shock that a company would be so cheap as to lose a customer for $ 20 and further, simply to refuse to do the right thing.

They came to my rescue this week. I was moving out of my apartment and wanted someone to clean. I had purchased a Living Social deal with another company. They completely missed the appointment, were not available by phone and wanted to re-​schedule a week later. Not acceptable.
So I called the Get Maid people. They were friendly and very accommodating. Got me in the next day! (I did use a Unilocal deal and that was painless as well).
Everything was clean as expected. They even did a couple things extra that I asked for with no upcharge and no complaints.

Their customer service is great. My Unilocal coupon wasn’t going through, but I needed to make the cleaning appt, so I went ahead and paid the full price. I inadvertently gave them the wrong address as well, but the next day, I got a refund for my Unilocal coupon and confirmation on the address change. In the midst of rushing last minute to find a cleaning service for my apartent, it was huge to have such prompt and friendly customer service.
Unfortunately, they showed up over an hour past the planned time (Website says they should show up within 45 minutes). However, I understand that the cleaning time can vary, so it wasn’t too big of an issue.
Everything was pretty spotless for an apartment move out. My bathroom did have a few spots that they missed, but overall, they did a great job.
Incredibly easy to make an appointment, great customer service, and professional. I’d hire again if I need them in the future.

These guys made my condo look like a prettier twin of its usual self. Gleaming floors, vacuumed carpet, nicely hung towels, clean tile in the kitchen, no errant kitty food near the bowl, no dust on the bookshelves or blinds. In short, a place that’s habitable.
As you can tell from the above, I «got maid» and it was awesome. Really reasonable (esp with a Unilocal deal) and they do an excellent job. Got all the corners and little spots that I’d totally forget to clean. They also showed up early and texted me when they were done.
In short, two really professional, nice cleaners showed up, made my place sparkle and saved me the hassle of doing anything other than an online payment. That’s a good day in my book.
