Established in 2005.

This business was started in 2005 as a one man project. Today, Grasshopper Lawncare services over 200 clients a year and employs 7 people.

I have been using Grasshopper for about a year now and I really like them. When I worked from home and they arrived they were courteous and the crew got in, got the job done and were out — and were always so polite.
Recently they were scheduled to come on a day that ended up being rainy. The next day they came but because I didn’t know they would be able to reschedule me that quickly, I didn’t unlock the gates to the back, but they did the work on the front yard. And after Ted and I communicated via email about it, he had his crew COME BACK OUT that same week to do the work in the back! This is customer service.
I appreciate Ted and his commitment to his customers. Plus the yard always looks so great! And the name of the company is super cute!

I have been using Grasshopper Lawncare for 5+ years and highly recommend their services! They make everything so simple, do a great job, are honest and reliable. Just signup online, tell them how often you would like your service and they’ll get it done. We use them for regular mowing and landscaping service, plus seasonal services like leaf removal and mulching.

I recently needed some general yard cleanup — mowing, trimming bushes and small trees, and some miscellaneous yard work items. Ted was able to accomodate my tight schedule, and sent Tim and his crew. The five of them arrived on time and after going around the yard to confirm with me what all I wanted done, they got right down to work. They worked quickly and efficiently, and all of them were very courteous. They exceeded my expectations — I am very pleased with what all they did, and I will definitely use Grasshopper Lawncare again.

Ted and his crew at Grasshopper have done great work for me since 2009. Ted’s communication about upcoming service or recommendations via email is great. He offers many types of additional services like fertilizing and weed suppression that are ‘green’ and healthy for the environment. His crew knows the nuances of my property and takes extra care. I even use them to clean my gutters! They’re awesome

Grasshopper is great! Ted runs a good, honest business. He gets folks on a schedule that puts the work happening on the day before your recycle pick up day. That way, if there’s brush or clippings to dispose of, they don’t sit there any longer than necessary.
He also offers an option to space out service or even cancel during the winter months (which I just did). All I have to do is email him back this spring and service and billing will start right back up. He was very upfront about that process and unlike some people, was not upset or mad about me doing so.
Another huge thing for me is communication. Ted always answers emails in a timely manner and is very friendly and professional.

I started using grasshopper when our lawnmower went kaput and the weedeater caught on fire. I jumped online, made my request and the guys came out and took care of the lawn a few days later. I received and email confirming my service and since have received and email the day before they’re coming out to remind me and also to see if there is anything else I need.
I think the best part is the day after they take care of the lawn, Ted (the owner) sends out an email to follow up and ensure everything is up to par.
One of the times they came out I felt that a mow wasn’t really necessary since we live in Texas and nothing was really growing– I asked Ted if it would be possible to have the crew clean up old dead leaves and things from my driveway instead and it was no problem!

I hired Grasshopper to do a one-​time mow when the grass got too long for our old-​fashioned motor-​less push mower to handle. The crew came out quickly (about 2 business days after signing up online).
After the work was finished, I felt that there were some problem areas that could have been done better. Our yard is probably harder than average to mow, but after voicing my opinions, Ted came out to personally check things over and make sure all our concerns were taken care of.
Ted is a super nice guy. Very professional and quick to respond to emails. I would recommend Grasshopper for their great customer service and ease of use.
