Kp Indian Grocery

I didn’t plan to come here but I decided at the last minute to cook some indian food, (also known as food where I’m from) and I quickly needed some vegetables and spices. I rarely cook so (this would be the 4^th time in all of my existence) so I went to the nearest Asian grocery mart I go for pre-​cooked foods and they didn’t have the main things I wanted in stock.
Sad and in despair, I was ready to give up and get fast food when I decided to drop by here for the hell of it and I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did they have the items I wanted, the prices were fair as well. The store was clean, vegetable and fruits section were fully stocked, the store itself was bustling with many customers and the cashiers were cheery and helpful; he asked if I found everything and how my day was going! Anyone who frequents non-​expensive desi establishments can attest to how rare that is! Usually, you’d be lucky to get a hello and a smile!
I took out a star as some of the items didn’t have prices/​labels on them. Other than that, I will definitely come back to do my ethnic shopping here.

After visiting to Apna and Gandhi Bazaar went to KP on tuesday evening and recommendation from a colleague and it turned out be a pleasant surprise.
They have fresh veggies on Tuesday’s and Friday’s and prices are cheaper compared to Gandhi/​Apna bazaar, so highly recommend if you are in North of Austin.
The staff was also very helpful, every time we visited this store.
No 5 stars because many items are not tagged with a price so you keep guessing the price and their is minimal staff to help. hopefully they will fix this soon :)

they started just now may be but place is so full of dust. and pricy, i like Taj indian groceries much okay compare to this one… the place nice place in Austin is Man Pasand but is in south i miss it. recently i moved to north and explored all Gandhi bazaar yack… i wish man pasand also in north.
i checked couple of flours and a dollar or 1.50 $ extra compare to other places.
only thing i saw was veggies were fresh… so i go only for veggies :)

Nice little place to do some grocery shopping. Very cute and something to go and explore.

Well the store has opened again and I have been going there for a while now… yet again the grocery store is a winner not just with me but with my husband too… Keep up the great job guys!

This grocery store is closed for good. They don’t list this on the website they are closed so I was not happy to see that I drove all the way over there just to find out that they are out of business… wasted time. Had to go to another one on Lamar.
