We’ve worked with Mandy on multiple occasions and it’s always been a pleasure. She’s organized, always on top of every detail, and our mutual clients have always been stress-​free in their planning process thanks to her assistance. She’s the perfect blend of a laid-​back yoga instructor and a seriously talented project manager, but she also can style the heck out of all of my company’s lounge pieces. She’s more than worth your investment!

Mandy came as a referral from a friend of mine who used her for her own wedding. After talking with her once, I booked her right away as our day-​of coordinator. Wow, so thrilled I did. Leading up to the wedding day, I felt totally comfortable leaving things in her hands. She was such a pleasure to work with: ORGANIZED, affordable, knowledgable of the wedding industry, creative, and a calming presence in what could’ve been a hectic day without her. My bridesmaids even noticed how calm, cool, and collected she was. On the rehearsal day, I handed Mandy some new décor items, and said «see what you can do with these». Totally last minute. And when I showed up to the venue the next day, it was perfectly done with what I gave her the day before. Mandy made sure we were taken care of, and my husband and I are forever thankful to her.

WOW! I can’t say enough great things about Mandy and Modern Whimsy Events. I found Mandy online after I had already spoken with several planners from the area. Immediately when I spoke to Mandy, I knew she was the one. She is amazing to work with all around! I literally felt like my best friend was planning my wedding. She is so easy going, thoughtful, nice, knowledgeable, and she is a yoga instructor! My now husband and I worked with Mandy from afar since we live in the DC area. She was very organized and she always had valuable information to share. Mandy also has an incredible ability to ease your stress and keep you calm throughout the wedding planning process and day of. My bridal party and I did wedding day yoga with Mandy. I can’t begin to explain how amazing this was! I felt so great all day because of this. The rest of the day went absolutely perfect! There were so many tiny details that needed attention that day and Mandy took care of all of it. My husband and I worked with her as early as a year before our wedding and felt truly at ease with her on our team. We unexpectedly ended up moving from Austin to NYC six months before our wedding and Mandy was able to jump in and do site visits and check in with our vendors when neither of us could be there. She made sure to check in with me despite the distance and I always felt like she had our event under control.
Mandy is also the ideal wedding planner because she offers day-​of yoga. Honestly, I can’t tell you how much that one hour of practice set the tone for my wedding day. Waking up and connecting with my bridesmaids through yoga really helped us find calmness and reflect on the collective meaning of the day. With all the accumulated stress of planning a wedding, it is so worth it to find those quiet moments of clarity with your very best friends. I could not recommend this higher.

We hired Mandy as the day-​of coordinator for our May 2014 wedding. It was a big fat Indian wedding, and she did a fabulous job learning about the ceremony and the traditions for the wedding. I live in NC and she did a fabulous job staying in touch via email and phone. She was always great with her responsiveness and professionalism. She is really easy to get along with and wonderful to work with.

Let me start by just saying Mandy is amazing — as a wedding coordinator & as a person. It was a genuine pleasure to work with her on my wedding in May. I never thought I would hire a wedding planner but I got married at a relative’s home & figured I might need an extra set of hand. I can’t emphasize enough how happy I am that I hired Mandy.
I thought working with a wedding planner would be stressful & honestly figured it would add a lot of steps to the small friends & family wedding I had pictured in my head. Mandy was the opposite of anything I expected in a planner & she made it so easy to share ideas, ask for suggestions & often she was the first to suggest letting go of a step (for example — favors) if it was essential to my vision. Based on everything friends have told me about the week or two before their weddings I know it was basically a miracle that by Thursday the week before our big day I was basically done making decisions. Nothing is more freeing for a bride after months of planning then simply directing people to talk to someone else. Mandy made all of that possible by keeping me from stressing while also being insanely organized to know who/​what went where & when. Getting rid of all that week before stress meant I got to sit back & enjoy my family, my now husband & our wedding day. I could not have pulled off my wedding without her & Mandy helped deliver a wedding beyond anything I could have imagined.

We hired Mandy as our day-​of-​coordinator for our September wedding and we couldn’t have been happier! She is down to earth, easy to work with, on top of her ish, and fun.
I interviewed a few wedding coordinators and not only did Mandy’s pricing come in at the most affordable, she was also the only one who didn’t pressure me at all to change any of our wedding plans. She’s very respectful of the couple’s wishes and works her booty off to ensure that everything is done the way you want it. From the first time we talked, I definitely felt like she got our vision and was more than willing to put in the work to make it happen for us.
The day of the wedding she had a TON of things to juggle and everything went incredibly smoothly. I wasn’t aware of a single thing that went wrong.
Don’t hesitate to hire a day-​of-​coordinator (and especially don’t hesitate to hire Mandy!). You will NOT regret it.

Absolutely Perfect! I used Mandy for our day-​of-​coordinator for our wedding on July 13^th and she was so helpful. In general, she did the timeline for all of the vendors, coordinated table placements, decoration set-​up and break down, ceremony lineup, and at your beck and call for anything and everything. All of my emails were responded soon after and full of information. But the most important part is that she made sure that everything would go smooth and seemless to ensure that you and your groom are not stressed out. I am serious when I say our wedding could not have been more perfect. It was a perfect reflection of who we are.

My daughter selected Mandy MIllican as her wedding coordinator to help corral her wedding arrangements from Chicago on 10÷6÷12. Cost: Approx $ 1000, and I have to say it was the best $ 1000 we could have spent. Her services included coordination and timing of all of a moderate-​sized wedding at a top-​of-​the-​line venue, photographers, caterers, wine, etc. as well as keeping everything moving on the day. She was knowledgeable, reassuring and cheerful during the rehearsal and Day. She made sure that people were in the right place at the right time, that the couple was fed (!), and that everything was picked up at the end. I’m a control freak; Mandy made that look GOOD. I am a self-​professed DIY Wedding bride. I certainly scoffed at the idea of spending money we didn’t have to get a coordinator. But after reading some suggestions that if you don’t get a coordinator at least designate a family person, friend, relative, dog to be the wedding manager… I had second thoughts. Thankfully, that’s where Mandy came in.
Modern Whimsy is amazing. There are not words sufficient enough to describe how incredible Mandy and her team were. From the very beginning Mandy was attentive and helpful far beyond what I expected from a coordinator, let alone one that we were getting at a discount for a prize we won and for just day of coordination. She went FAR above and beyond what I think any one person would do and she was instantly a friend in the end. The details she stayed on top of were just incredible and perfect. Letting go of the reins for this OCD person was difficult, but I couldn’t have asked for someone better to trust with my vision and allow to orchestrate the wedding of my dreams.
If you’re getting married and don’t want to have to worry, stress, or cry on your wedding day, hire Modern Whimsy. The best investment we’ve ever made was for that peace of mind on our wedding day. Honestly.

We just finished having our wedding in Austin and worked closely with Mandy on day of wedding coordination. From the first moment we got on the phone, we knew she would be great.
First off, Mandy’s experience means she thinks of all the small details you might forget. In the weeks leading up to our event, she came to us with small questions that had a big impact. She also did all the background work to organize details like flower delivery, scheduling conflicts and floor plans for the caterer. She was also able to help with a few etiquette questions that we had — always a plus.
For the rehearsal, that attention to detail had her even pointing out small details like moving a microphone so people could see us kiss. She came to the hotel to drop off and pick things up in advance.
She made herself available during the process via email, phone and text — all the ways we like to communicate!
During the entire process Mandy was upbeat, helpful and made us feel like our event was as special to her as it was to us.
Fees were also right in line with what I expected — excellent value for money.
Now, we just need to find another event that she can help us to plan! Would love to work with her again.

I have had the great pleasure of working with Modern Whimsy both as a photographer and as a bride. I couldn’t be more grateful for the service they provided to my husband and I. Mandy helped me to pull together all the aspects of our wedding! We contacted her just weeks before the wedding date needing help and guidance to see us through to our special day. I am using the services of Modern Whimsy Events for my wedding in October, but I chose to write this review before we even got to the wedding date. Mandy (½ of the Events group staff) is so fabulous. I hired them for day-​of planning and she has been there at every turn! She is always available by email and always is willing and able to meet up to discuss wedding stuff :) These girls are fabulous. They’ve got great ideas, as well.
