The Concord is a «family favorite» when we are in town. Such great pizza and drinks. My in-laws introduced us to «pizza and beer» night here many years ago and we keep coming back. The waitstaff(when we are there in the summer) is seasonal. Usually a college student, always lively, bright, engaging and very helpful. Always busy and full of families, usually with a line out the door. Get there early!

Great place if you don’t care what you eat. Had the pizza and cheesesteaks and various sandwiches from here and not one was any better than average.

First and foremost, Super friendly staff! Can’t go wrong with the service. Dining in is typically a good crowd, depending on season. But the food always comes quickly. Takeout is just as fast. Food is always hot. Beer list is mediocre. The pizza is delish! Probably my fave item on the menu. Love their Boardwalk pizza!

Have been here a lot. Service is hit or miss. Bar is basic so can’t go wrong. Food is usually pretty good. Service can be unpredictable due to seasonal staffing. Prices are reasonable for this type of a shore venue.

Ordered takeout for the family. I order a balsamic chicken sandwich & chicken parm dinner to go. When ordering my sandwich, I asked for sweet potato fries as my side. The phone person repeated my order, and he was very nice and pleasant. I got home and realized I was given regular fries. I wouldn’t have minded if they weren’t $ 1.99 extra. Was told if I came back now I could get my fries replaced which was ridiculous considering it took 30 minutes to get there and was already home. Didn’t anyone look at the ticket order? Asked if they could credit me next time, left my name and number, never received a call back. Oh well. Last straw. They can keep the $ 1.99 because I’m not going back. Food was just barely mediocre, sandwich’s chicken breasts were very chewy tasting possibly old leftover chicken and the chicken parm was fair at best. Sauce/gravy was very bland. Wouldn’t recommend it.

Appreciate the quick table and service on a Saturday night in August. The calamari was not the best(rather chewy) but the salad I had as an entrée(with almonds and cranberries) was very very good. The kids enjoyed their pizza too. It is a simple place but they were friendly and quick and helpful. Oh and the wine was pretty good for only $ 6 a glass.

Came in late after a wedding, checked if they were still serving, ordered still waiting after 35 mins, waitress never even came back to refill drinks, granted it is later in evening, but to proclaim #1 at the shore, not even close, still waiting for some food, the stuff that came is mediocre at best, maybe time is factor, but thumbs down here

Typical of the shore, average at best. The service was slow, even on a very quiet weekday in the summer. The food is typical bar stuff, burgers, steaks, wings, fries, etc. Sandwiches go for about $ 12-$ 15 and they definitely aren’t worth that. They do have a bunch of TVs which is nice for watching a game. Nothing really special about Concord café though.

Stopped in here at about 3:30 this afternoon for a bite before heading home and the food was good. The service was not so good. Not because the server was inefficient, quite the contrary, she was excellent. The place was very understaffed. Ashley was our hostess, server and busboy, not only for us but for the entire restaurant, and while I understand that times are tough for business owners, I do not understand why a business owner would hurt his business by cutting staff to the point that people are walking out because they can’t be seated. I watched people wait ten minutes at the door waiting to be seated then leave while Ashley was picking up orders from the kitchen and waiting tables, bussing tables, answering the phone and cashing out checks all alone. She was a one man band and that only works onstage. She never even saw the people at the door because she was so busy waiting tables and picking up orders from the kitchen. She had a great attitude through it all and the Concord is lucky to have her.

Have eaten at Concord for years and always had a decent meal. Not so tonight. I had the absolute worst cheesesteak I have ever had! It was tasteless and the chicken was mushy. Onion rings were no better. Think I’ll be going to Bradley’s from now on to get cheesesteaks to go

The cheese steak and sirloin sandwiches were good and a great portion sizes. And the 2 large pizzas for $ 18(before 6pm) is a steal. We found the service to be good as well but we were there for the early dinner crowd. Good affordable family friendly place.

Just left the restaurant after over a hour. The waitress took our order and provided drinks and disappeared for over 30 minutes. No refill no explanation on why the food was taking so long. At one point I walked around the restaurant and every employee was missing including the bar tender. When the waitress finally returned(with no food) we asked for at least refills, which she didn’t bring but the host brought 10 minutes later. When the food arrived it did not arrive at the same time(took 10 minutes in between delivery to our table by 2 different people), 2 of the orders were wrong, and the food was very dry and barely warm. Food is defiantly over priced for the quality. Once we received our food, our waitress never returned to the table. To pay the check I had to go find the waitress and wait while she rang it up. As a side note, the man seated at the table next to me said he knew the owner and the service was terrible because she wasn’t there. I don’t recommend anyone to go to this restaurant unless they have a lot of time to spare.

Great little place to stop in for happy hour drinks and snacks! Drinks are made well and the food is typical bar food. Parking is limited and the prices are fair(typical prices you would expect to pay at the shore).

Consistently above average. Pleasant servers. Cheese & chicken steaks would benefit from crustier rolls. French fries are tops.

It is busy, with good reason I think. I didn’t think it was cheap, $ 11.50 for a cheesesteak, $ 6 for wings, $ 9 for Jalepeno poppers(yes, very healthy eating) but the drinks were weirdly priced — $ 4.50 for a gin and tonic, $ 5 for a Blue Moon. But everything was really good. Pizza’s looked good. Bartenders friendly and efficient even though they could have used another set of hands it was so busy. People waiting outside for a table even tho it looked as though there were some avbl. I would def go back. Esp since I agree with Jeff D — not a big fan of restaurants in Avalon either. And — what is it with the summer work crowd in Avalon? Privileged kids being MADE to work? I dunno.

Favorite place for burgers and catch a game on the island. Always busy, but what great place isn’t. Most recent glory was the crabcake sandwich. Not too pricey for a place serving on an island that must be built on gold.

Always busy, whether it’s the off-season or a weekend in the summer. Burgers and sandwiches aren’t bad, but pizza is the way to go here(in my opinion). Concord is a nice place to watch a game at the bar or get a casual bite to eat with a group.

Previous reviewers have been correct the food here is reasonably priced and overall it averages out to be decent quality food, but the service is quite abysmal. We, a party of 6, got in at 5:30 and were told that it should only be 15 minutes for a wait. We were quite surprised that it was such a short wait for such a large party. We assumed that a table must have just cleared out and that they were busing it in order for us to sit down. That assumption of ours was stark wrong. Instead of waiting 15 minutes we waited over 45 minutes for a table to clear. Thankfully this was probably the worst of our service woes, but it certainly was far from the last. The waitress we had repeatedly bent herself over the table and in front of several of us in order to place food or drinks and also did the same when removing food or drinks. This would have been fine if she had asked us, warned us, or apologized for reaching right in our faces, but she didn’t. Another minute issue was that the food came out very sporadically. Despite having asked for an entrée salad to come out the same time as the side salads and appetizers, all three came out at separate times. Thankfully, the food, for the most part, was quite good. The roast beef sandwich was great according to two members of our party and the entrée chicken Caesar salad was also good. One odd thing was that a side salad that was ordered with Caesar dressing instead came with a distinctly different — when compared to the chicken Caesar’s — dressing, though we couldn’t determine what it actually was. One gripe with the food other than the mystery salad dressing was with the burgers. One member of the party ordered a well-done burger and I ordered my burger medium. When the burgers came out, however, both burgers were exactly the same level of doneness. Both looked like they were medium-well, mostly cooked except for a dash of pink. It’s just odd when we expected one to be more cooked and one to be less cooked. To top it all off the waitress only never actually came back to see how we were doing with our food or drinks. We had to ask other waitstaff to bring her back out so we could get refills on our drinks and also the check. She wasn’t even the one to bring out the check, but she did come back out to pick it up as we left. As I before, other reviews of this restaurant are correct. Just keep in mind that the waitstaff is bad. The food is just fine, especially considering the prices that other places in the area charge for similar quality food, but you’ll need to be prepared for poor waitstaff. Had we had a better experience with the waitstaff this review would have likely been a 3, because the restaurant in general is quite average. The below average service really easily knocked it down.

Overall not a bad place. I am not a big fan of the restaurant scene in Avalon. So for a reasonably priced, decent meal, I will come to the Concord. Pizza and sandwiches aren’t too bad and prices are kept under control. I have heard good things about their burgers. I plan on trying one when I return this summer.
