Didn’t realize it was the last night they were open. Out of specials, poor table service and sub par meals. Told sever that mussels weren’t opened and couldn’t eat… offered to give us a dessert after the the check had been delivered. Won’t go back

What a great dining experience! Light music playing and modern, candle designed atmosphere. Extremely attentive staff that worked as a group. The menu is diverse and not just your typical grilled or broiled fish entrees. Everything looked so tasty on the menu! I had the Arugula, fig, goat cheese salad with vinaigrette. …fabulous! Dinner was the Salmon, done to perfection with great flavored sauce accompanied. Others at the table had Short ribs and they raved about the dish. All dishes were big, full sized. Right now they are running a Restaurant special, 3 course for $ 39 and wine special with that offer. Loved it!

Great appetizers but unfortunately it went straight down hill from there. Dinner over seasoned, uneventful and just not good. Desserts at a restaurant of this caliber shouldn’t be microwaved resulting in doughy apple pie. Won’t be back.

Food was phenomenal! I read a review that was not so good, so I was hesitant. Gave them a try not only once, but twice! Best restaurant in the area! I had the Cioppinio. Delicious. We also had the trout, bacon wrapped scallops, crab cakes and filet mignon. Everything was outstanding. I highly recommend this place, and if you get our server, whos name I forget, you are lucky! She is very knowledgeable and super sweet. Hope she remembers us when she reads this review.

Had trout here that tasted super fishy … The gnocci appetizer was miniature ! Another member of my party ordered the Cioppino and there was no pasta and basically a bowl full of empty shells and sauce. The waitress suggested maybe the meat from shells was in the sauce. C’mon. We could tell if there was… She mumbled something as she walked away which indicated to us that she would have the manager come over or possibly discount the dish but no such luck… The Cioppino was on the bill, full price. Also someone at our table had their meal come out when the other 7 of us were already near finished. The manager apologized and said dessert on us. Silly me thought he meant for everyone since we all didn’t get to enjoy our meal together. Guess again, he meant just the person who ate dinner alone. Super tacky. Left here having spent $ 700 and being less than impressed. I guess they thought we were just summer people, but we are locals.

Very good Italian food. The meatball appetizer is excellent and can be split for 2 – 3 people. The Al a Fuze salad was really refreshing. I had the Fedacini Bolognese and it was fantastic. The waiters and staff are very impressive. Expensive but worth the price. Best Italian on the 7 mile island

Good food and service, but the atmosphere is almost trying too hard to be loungey. it doesnt work for a beach town. Very little local food offered. But it was definitely good. pricey. Doubt this restaurant would last in the city– pasta with crab and tomatoes was $ 31. delicious but overpriced. Will not return as I think there are better, more reasonable options.

Server Michael was awesome. We will say it is the best in the area. Hands down Steak tartare. Scallop n Foie. Veal w manchego cream Chopped salad. Tuna sashimi app All in all. Perfect for us… Oh yeah. Pot du crème dessert. Wow

Nice local Italian restaurant in a beautiful part of Avalon. Food was very good, the service good. Recommend this restaurant.

The interior of the establishment — as others have noted — is more akin to Atlantic City in the 70s than a beachfront establishment. There was a pleasant duo playing piano and bass when we were there and the music added a nice ambience. The service was decent and attentive without being overbearing. The cocktails were tasty and strong(espresso martini and gin/champagne drink). The bread was hard and tasted a day old although the provided truffle oil butter was delicious. We ordered a beet salad with arugala and goat cheese which was great. We also ordered the crab cake app. My wife liked it, but I did not. We were not particularly hungry so we split an entrée of lobster stuffed trout. The trout was cooked very well and was tasty, but the lobster was extremely overcooked and tough to the point of being un-edible. Due to the lack of great food for the price, we skipped out on desert and went to Springer’s for some top notch ice cream. I would not go back given the opportunity.

This review is strictly for cocktails since we came here after a large meal elsewhere on the island. We were on the hunt for some decent mixed drinks for a nightcap. I know just about anywhere can make a 7 and 7 or a gin and tonic, but we wanted something just a bit more complex. So, to Fuze we went and Fuze delivered. I ordered the white cosmo. The bartender, Sue, made it quickly and it came in a relatively large martini glass. The flavor was excellent and you could tell she used the correct measurements for each amount of alcohol. My boyfriend went with a manhattan and really enjoyed it. Because it was a relatively slow night towards the end, she tested out a drink with us using Art in the Age’s Sage( ) and it was pretty stellar. You could tell she had a good grasp of flavor combinations and wasn’t just another bartender who could only use a bottle opener. My only gripe with this place is that the bathrooms were far away from the bar and the live music act that was on the other night was pretty horrific. Everything else was fine, though, so I’m definitely interested in getting back here to try their food and more of their cocktails.

You callin’ me funny? Am I a clown? Do I amuse you? Yeah, that scene from Goodfellas might be one of the best in all the mob movies. And just for a moment, I was back in the ’60’s while dining at the delish Fuze. Fuze gives you the look and feel of a 60’s nightclub/restaurant, complete with live music. Décor is retro, and it is white tablecloth. Friday night they had a cabaret singer with accompaniment, crooning old classics that matched the vibe. Food was great, and we really enjoyed our meal. The calamari was an original interpretation served with pickles, capers and olives in a spicy aioli sauce. The lobster mac & cheese was also a solid appetizer, served with big chunks of lobster claw. I enjoyed the lobster carbonara, served with fettucine in an alfredo sauce with tasso smoked pork. Probably the highest caloric dish on the planet but so good. If you are into cocktails, give the orange sunset a shot… it is perfect after a hot day at the beach. We didn’t have room for dessert. All the food was top notch, and Fuze completes the Avalon hat trick(with Café Loren and Diving Horse) of places that are not just the best down the shore, but hold their own with top notch fine dining anywhere. Like everyplace down the shore, you pay a premium, and Fuze is no exception. So, its back to Godfather reruns for me. Just don’t call me a funny guy.

This review is for the Fuze on 21st street not the one on 78th street. What a disappointment. The food, the service everything was horrible, I won’t be back. The two young girls pretending to be servers should have stayed on the beach playing because that’s about all they did in the dining room. The best part of the meal was the salad. The Fruit De Mare was a joke for 29.00 2 clams, 2 scallops, 3 mussels and 1 shrimp with a small bowl of pasta. I had the Pasta e fagioli for an app, it was so salty I couldn’t eat it, told the server and she took it away but not off the bill. whenever I had pasta e fagioli in the past it ALWAYS had pasta in it, after all it’s pasta and bean soup, I didn’t find the first piece of pasta. 3 times the girls came out and asked if we wanted dessert, 3 times I ordered Tirimusu, it finely came out, 4 lady fingers with a little mascapone on top. We went there because of the Sunday Gravy, nope it was to early in the season for that we were told, then why put it on the menu. My wife had a veal dish, no starch on the plate and none offered on the menu, when you order meat that’s all you get unless you order a $ 12.00 bowl of pasta. Maybe that was the problem with the Pasta e fagioli, I forgot to order the pasta with the soup. As I said in the beginning, we won’t be back.

Oh I don’t know. I read the reviews saying it was great. Now I’m no spring chicken, I’m past the age of ever feeling too young in any setting. But then here, it’s like I’m a kid again. The 70’s décor, dark interior, lounge singer. I feel like I’m 12 and out with my parents. But the food IS good. I had a very good filet medium rare with bacon parmesan whipped potatoes. The clam chowder is delicious. The drinks are generous. Can’t complain about the food… So take your parents here, they’ll enjoy it. But as soon as you start to enjoy the ambiance, you’ll have to admit your an old fart too.

I ended up checking out Fuze with a large group of family over my extended 4th of July holiday. We had been at the Beach Bar at the Windrift and needed some dinner that wasn’t the pizza the Windrift was offering. We had driven by Fuze a thousand times on our way to Stone Harbor or Wildwood so we knew it was walking distance… The ambiance is very cool and unlike almost any other place at the shore. Its not beachy or laidback or particularly casual. That being said, if you have been down at the shore for awhile maybe a break for an upscale environment is welcome! For us, it was. The drinks we tried were outstanding. I had a key lime martini that was to die for and my fiancé had a dirty martini that was very well made. We switched to wine for our dinner and the wine list was just OK, I got a respectable Malbec but nothing out of this world. For appetizers, we tried the beet salad, the tuna tartar, the mushroom risotto, and the crispy bread. The stand outs for me were the beets and the tartar, which was perfectly seasoned and light. The mushroom risotto was the correct consistency but totally lacked seasoning. For my entrée I tried the Bronzino which was roasted whole and fileted at the table. It was SODELICIOUS! It came with no sides at all which was fine with me because the fish was a star,…which it had better be at $ 34. Several others at the table had the veal dish which was equally amazing. The truffle flavor really came through. The service was pleasant but incredibly slow. I had to wait 15 minutes to have my finished drink cleared and to order my glass of wine. Overall, I would say this resto is a welcome break into an upscale experience if you have been eating beach bar food for a week or so. Its overpriced but that reflects the clientele of that area. I would go back but only if it wasn’t on my own dime again…

This place is OUTSTANDING! Fine dining at the beach, but, don’t worry, you don’t have to show up in a suit. So excited to have found this place. The wine list is excellent! Service is outstanding. And, the food is so divine! It is located on the border of Avalon and Stone Harbor, connected to a not so upscale hotel, so the clientele is not stuffy. It amazes me that more people from Avalon do not seem to dine there. It is, in my opinion, the best place on the island! We were there for restaurant week and loved it so much, we went back the next night! Turned out the waitress that waited on us at another popular restaurant two nights before, in the heart of Avalon, where the food was not so great and overpriced, was seated right next to us. That says it all!

This place is fantastic. Has an upscale, sophisticated vibe not typical of a lot of shore point restaurants. The food was fantastic, the service was friendly and impeccable. Very nice choice for a special night out. Also had a wonderful selection of wines to accompany your dinner selection. I have been here several times while down in Avalon and have never been disappointed.

It turns out all of the hotels in Avalon are off the main drag. It’s a bit disappointing when you’re a 20 something that lives too far away to be in on a share, but still occasionally visits and is looking to go out. Getting a cab in Avalon is no easy feat! We were looking for a spot to celebrate my best friend’s birthday and Fuze really delivered. It turns out it was within walking distance of the hotel. This is not your typical shore bar. It looks more like a lounge you’d find in Atlantic City, Philadelphia, or New York. The only difference is the clientele in the hotel area of town tends to be a bit older. The service was great and they easily accommodated our party of 10. The restaurant itself wasn’t very crowded, even though our reservation was for 8:30. The food was fabulous and fairly reasonably priced. I shared the orecchiette macaroni and cheese and the lamb schnitzel. Both were amazing. It might have also been because I was quite intoxicated after drinking an espresso martini. Expect to pay city prices for drinks, but you get some bang for your buck, because they were VERY strong.
