Brock Automotive Import Service Repair

Yesterday I called to get an appointment to have rear brakes redone and front brakes if they need it. They told me they could fix my Toyota Sienna today.
Today I took the truck in. I asked them to also do an oil change. Was called and told the brakes were fine.
Picked up the van, on the way home a shimmy got worse thought I had a flat tire, but tires were OK. Took it back and mechanic rode with me. Mechanic said front brakes were in bad shape and so he rebalanced the brakes to put more load on the rear. (???). Back at the shop he readjusted the brakes so they were no longer ³⁰⁄₇₀ (rear/​front) that is recommended.
Mechanic told me I really needed to get the warped rear drums fixed, and that the front brakes also needed to be replaced. He explained that was the first thing he said in the morning — was that front brakes needed replacing.
OK, I just wasted ½ a day NOT getting my brakes fixed.
I can understand them not noticing the shimmey in the rear (I didn’t until I had driven 1+ miles at over 40 MPH. But the whole purpose of taking it in was to fix the brakes. Not fixing the front brakes is unacceptable.

Good european car shops are hard to find but I highly recommend Brock if you need to get work done in your car. Brought in my BMW and not only did they finish the work in one day, they also advised me of a recall on my model and told me to take it to the dealer since it is covered under warranty — instead of charging me for it. They are professional, efficient, experienced, and honest.

Great service, gave us 2 different prices, but when informed of that they went with the lower of the two AND offered a free oil change for the hassle. :)

Had these guys repair an issue on my daughters Audi. The work was done in a timely and professional manner. They are in a great location for me and close to where we live so I was glad to find a mechanic so close with so many great reviews. Try them out, they are great.

I didn’t pass my DEQ inspection because a sensor needed to be replaced. I visited another shop first and provided the error code. They told me they would charge me $ 50 to run the diagnostic. When I provided the same information at Brock, they told me that they didn’t need to charge me for the diagnostic (major points here for honesty). They also asked me if my car was made in California, which would make a difference in the price of the part. Two previous shops hadn’t asked me that question when providing an estimate. My car was, in fact, made in California, so it was totally relevant. Everyone I met there was incredibly nice, and my car was even ready sooner than they told me it would be. Overall great experience.

Went there based on Unilocal reviews for a 120k service on my Subaru. They called and gave me a list of many problems coming up to almost $ 2,000, I went and took my car to the Subaru dealer and got everything it needed for $ 1200. It did not need struts like Brock Auto said.

These guys are great! Any time I have an issue these guys are the first I go to.

Honest and Integrity:
I recently took my red hot 2004 Mercedes SL500 to Brock Automotive (09/​15/​2015) for a FREE estimate on issue I have with my front suspension and steering squeaking really bad. It was so loud that when I drive out of my garage, my neighbors would look at my direction, so I stopped driving my car for a week. Anyway, Brock team inspected my car and determined it was a Ball Joint mounted on the steering knuckle. The Mercedes service book rate estimate it would takes 5hrs for the job because they have to disassemble the steering rack. So my estimate came to $ 595.00 with Lemforder Ball Joint (OEM part). I then called Mercedes of Portland and asked how much it will cost to replace this particular part + labor for comparison. They quoted me $ 1,100 expensive! So Brock will be the one to service my car. The next day, they called me said my car was ready; they’ve tested drove it and no more squeaks. They also inspected the condition of other bushings and ball joints and were good. I arrived to pick up my car, and then met with David Brock (shop owner). He adjusted my total bill down to $ 450.00 and said he spoke with the mechanic who worked on my car that he was able to completed the job 2hrs less than estimate. I am thinking, I am hearing this right? A repair shop just lowers my bill lower because they finished quicker than the shop repair book estimate? Wow! Where can you going to find a shop with honesty and integrity like these guys? It blew my mind!

I am new in town and needed to find a trustworthy shop for some mechanical issues. I found good reviews for Brock and figured I’d give them a shot. I turned in the car with a report that my brakes were squeaking (I assumed I needed new ones), one of my brake lights were out and I needed an oil change. When they called that afternoon to report the work was complete I was expecting a very high bill. Instead they quoted me something very low and said the brakes were fine after they spent half an hour on labor cleaning them up. They had a perfect opportunity to gouge me and didn’t. This alone makes them superior to most shops I’ve had dealings with in the past. They will be my go to shop for any future work.

Kudos again to the team at Brock Automotive. They have been taking care of our family vehicles for many years now, and once again, they came through with flying colors. Mr. Brock himself handled all the details, and oversaw the repair. He communicated along the way, and followed up after the job was done. We are longtime Brock Automotive customers, and will definitely return as needed. Highly recommend them for their courtesy, professionalism, and pricing.

If I could give more stars I would! SO refreshing to find an honest, fair and professional shop! Please don’t hesitate to bring your car to these guys, extremely reasonable and fair and no upselling or BS tactics that other shops use. Great job Brock!

While I am mechanically (but not completely technically) challenged — I decided to replace a sensor myself.
In the process I discovered that the battery clamp had broken. Not having the right tools to crimp on that size of wire — I called and while they were busy, they could repair while I was waiting. Quality service for reasonable prices.
Since the sensor replacement didn’t recover the OBDII error code I realized I was in deeper then I could trouble shoot /​repair myself so I made an appointment.
While they prefer to work on import cars they did a good job and found other cheap parts (hoses and check valves) that needed replacement … without replacing expensive parts.
My car passed DEQ testing without issue.
Again: quality work at reasonable prices.

I’ve been coming to Brock Automotive since 2004. The entire team has always been upfront with me about what is absolutely necessary and what needs to be looked at down the road, never overselling things that I didn’t absolutely need. Integrity starts at the top. Drawing from years of experience as the head mechanic at Mercedes and Acura coupled with staying on top of industry technology, David Brock and team can tackle any issues I’ve thrown at them. I’ve always been on a pretty tight budget and they’ve always worked with me to make sure I do just whats needed to keep me rolling. Definitely recommend.

My sincerest apologies go to everybody at Brock, since I swore I had reviewed this place years ago, and I hadn’t! I ran across Brock somewhat by accident — this spot used to house another garage that I loved, but they had a fire and decided not to return. I happened to need some repairs done, and was surprised to find that there was a new kid in town (come to find out, Brock wasn’t new in town, just to this space). Would they take good care of my Honda? Would they be as fair as the old mechanics? Well, I’d had my car towed here and didn’t have much choice so I decided just to bite the bullet.
The guys at Brock have impressed me every single time I’ve taken either of our two vehicles in for whatever they needed, which has been probably 8 – 10 times now. From oil changes to full-​on engine repair, I’ve always felt COMPLETELY at ease in my dealings with them. Always fair, always professional, always patient enough to answer my questions and work with me. I have a garage-​owning relative in another state, and I always run Brock’s «treatment plans» and estimates by him before I approve stuff. I’m a chick, and I’m always very aware of the ability to be ripped off, but they’ve never recommended unncecessary service, and their prices have always been fair. There have been times I’ve declined something for my own reasons, and they never pushed back on me or made me feel bad. I’ve also never arrived to find my bill is more than my estimate; I’ve actually had it be $ 500 less than estimate before on a $ 2000 bill.
My only complaint is that they’re so good that they’re super in demand!!! They also are not open on weekends. But I don’t mind if they aren’t able to look at my car the day I drop it off (which they’re ok with, even if they can’t see it immediately), but I’d rather wait on exceptional service and prices I can trust than risk taking it somewhere else. And there have been times they can get me in immediately.
Brock Automotive is the only garage that will touch my cars!

These guys are amazing. They are some of the most honest mechanics i’ve ever met. I took my BMW in for a «Service Engine Soon». They tried to diagnose, but weren’t sure so they replaced the gas cap and only changed me for parts; no labor. What? No charge for labor? That’s, obviously, not always going to be the case, but these guys aren’t in the business to make a fast buck; they’ll only charge you a fair and honest amount.
That’s hard to find, my friends.

My fiancée and I have been using this place for about a year. I’m called by name when I call in and always receive the best service in town. There’s no bullshit, the price is exactly what I’m quoted (or I’m called to approve any extra I’m expected to pay BEFORE the service is performed), and they’ve saved me money by explaining my options on more than one occasion. I’ve also come to pick up my car and paid less than expected because they found a way or found that part I needed for cheaper than expected.

Picked car up today, had front brakes and rotors replaced (as recommended). Brock’s was quick, honest, and professional. They didn’t waste any time and they didn’t try to oversell us. The price was exactly as quoted and I feel comfortable with the quality of the work. I’m glad we used this service shop, (we found through Unilocal).
