Love this place only disappointment is they no longer do $ 1 pastries after 5pm but otherwise a great little gem

Wonderful place! Sure it’s expensive but the after 5PM $ 1 pastries make up for that. Great focaccia, delicious cookies, and awesome ragu. So happy to have this bakery down the block. The baked goods delightful and it’s nice to have access to fresh sauces and cheeses to make dinner prep a breeze after work. Staff is super friendly and helpful too!

I want to love this place but everything in there is very over-priced. The décor and selection is beautiful though. One day I will let myself splurge on all of these goodies. Best feature though, $ 1 pastries after 5pm. This is the best. I got a croissant and banana bread for $ 2. Such a steal!

I have been coming to Saraghina for years and love it. I was very pleased when they opened the bakery. Their breads and other products are great. This review is only based on service. I own 2 bar/restaurants in Brooklyn and if I had seen one of my patrons treated the way I was today, I would have fired the employee on the spot. Came in on Thursday around 1pm, one of the barista(guy) was preparing a coffee for the customer in front of me, while the other was texting on phone. Once she seemed to no longer be interested in texting she came over to take my order. I got a baguette and 2 croissants, $ 9.50. Not complaining, I know the prices and I chose to purchase them. She wrapped bread, and got croissants, put them on counter where I could not reach them, took my $$$ and gave my change back. Turned her back and went back to texting. I had to ask the other polite barista to hand over and place articles in a bag. If you are going to charge top $$$ for products your customer service should be on par with prices. I’m not a very demanding patron, but I won’t be back to order anything from that particular employee. Got home, and on top of bad service she gave me wrong croissants. Why does it seem that incompetency and bad attitude seem to go hand in hand.

This place has amazing breads and other baked goods. I had a life changing cranberry rosemary muffin here one time. I just wish they would bake some more bread. By the time my partner and I are out of work around 6:30 they have almost always run out and yet their hours are until 8pm. You’re a bakery, make some bread. It’s flour, yeast and water. It costs virtually nothing to make a few extra loaves, especially when you sell them for up to $ 10 each. Then if you have leftovers you can use the extra for crostini or panzanella in your adjacent restaurant. Or donate them to a worthy organization and put up a little sign letting us bougie customers know how generous you are, which will no doubt help your social cred. Just a suggestion if you want some more dollars.

I just adore this spot. It’s sadly rare in NYC to find places that actually bake all their own pastries and breads in house(even so called«bakeries») but this place is the REALDEAL! Had a fantastic chestnut flour miche, apricot jam filled croissant, and their riff on a ham and cheese croissant(I think it was with speck + fontina). Haven’t tried the house made fresh pastas, but am eager to soon! Many of the grocery items are on the $$$ side, but come for the coffee and in house pastries + bread. Sooooo good! Good thing I don’t live closer or I’d be here every morning.

I’ve been here pretty regularly since I moved. They don’t have the best coffee/techniques in the neighborhood, but it’s good and they have a variety of other fun things to try. The biggest convenience for me is they accept cards(I have a bad habit of rarely having cash). I can grab a latte on the weekend, maybe a baguette for lunch(they have a great selection of fresh breads for a good price), and some fruits from the deli across the street. The cheese is not the best for the price. They have great pastries to sample as well and one thing I used to like is they had cheap options(like tiny chocolate truffles and recently this amazing chocolate cream puff for $ 2.50) in a sea of ridiculously priced items. The most extreme example I noticed was an adorable plaid pie tote I considered getting for my baking nut sister. The price was a little skewed in the holder so I thought it was an very reasonable $ 7, when I moved it, I saw it was $ 37 for a flat version of a tote! Since I’ve been going there, the lines have gotten longer and the price of the cheaper items have gone up while the quality down(with the exception of the cream puff, which I expect they will inflate pretty soon). FYI the Unilocal pics are of the restaurant and not the bakery, which has no counter for eating only out door seating. Maybe it’s outdated?

What can I say, some of the breads here are so delicious! They also have fresh pasta, local cheeses and pastries. I’m not as big a fan of some of the pastries which can sometimes be a bit oily, but the bread, pasta, cheeses, sauces and olive oil more than make up for it. Their pest is quite good though a bit pricey. What a great addition to a neighborhood where you couldn’t buy any fresh bread. They sell out of their baguettes usually by noon. Try some of the more complex breads with onions or cheese, etc. YUM!!! Very family and neighborhood friendly, even have a little wood oven set for kids to play with and little benches inside if you have to wait for your partner to pick up stuff. They have added some benches outside too to have a cup of coffee and a treat. I hear the coffee is great though I have not tried it.
