I have lived in Korea and this place reminds of the food I ate there. Nice sized restaurant, with friendly staff. They make sure to take care of you as you dine in. The food tastes great and it comes with all the side dishes you expect at a good korean restaurant. Some items are a little pricey but I blame that on location more than anything else. Overall, you come to Seoul Garden wanting to eat authentic Korean food. Don’t come here because it was your last resort and expect to find what you wanted at other places on the menu or close proximities to it, then complain that it wasn’t quite what you really wanted.

We came here because we can’t make it to the Boiling Point due to long line. Since my wife’s wanted something different and hot pot soup, we would give it a try. Out of surprise, the food was good and tasty. As usual we ordered seafood pancakes, bimbipo and black cod hot pot. We mistakenly ordered the fish hot pot thinking it was with soup. Initially we were disappointed but it turned out to be a surprisingly good dishes. A lot of black cod and veggies. The service was great. There was no question ask as we ordered more side dishes. If you are around downtown Bellevue and can’t find a place to dine out, give it a try.

Location: 9⁄10 There aren’t a lot of parking spaces in front of the restaurant, but I’ve never had an issue finding a spot. Interior: 8⁄10 Well lit, nice seating arrangements. Clean. Comfortable seating. Food: 9⁄10 This restaurant gives you a good amount of side dishes. The timing of when the food arrives to your table doesn’t take very long, but it does upon what you get. I ordered the spicy squid dish which was absolutely delicious and the soup. I’m not certain what it was called, but it was kind of like an ox tail soup. Service: 8⁄10 The waitress was very friendly and nice, but sometimes it was difficult to get her attention. However, she was a really good with remembering extra things I requested so I really appreciated that.

We went in during lunch, ordered hot stone bibimbap and seafood soup. Service was good, the older lady was very nice. Bibimbap was good, only complain is the seafood soup portion. Seafood was barley any. A tiny shrimp and tiny clam… The soup pot should be bigger/with more real seafood. I wish? Haha just comparing to other korean places.

Not the best service, and when I asked for more sides she just looked at the owner or other coworker. I ordered a main dish but the meat portion was so little. It got busy and they forget to get our waters along with I was hoping to get more sides to fill me up a little bit more.

Typical Korean restaurant with good location at Bellevue. That is it. BBQ is too much burned. Cold noodles is good but not sure others except Korean like this. Staff is good. Taste… Well…

Maybe it’s a little too early to determine what this restaurant really is for me. I went for lunch last Friday and I was not very satisfied with my order. Watery soondubu. I ordered my favs, kimchi soondubu with beef(9.99), and was disappointed. Seattle/Bellevue needs to step in their game when it comes to Korean food.(Le sigh.) The banchan was so-so too. They didn’t look too fresh and looked more like they were sitting out for a while. Rice is served in the metal bowls here; it isn’t fancy and uses a second stone bowl over here. They give complementary barley tea and you can ask for an egg for your soondubu. I think the best thing that I ate was my friends order of the spare ribs. I will have to try this place again. They have a monopoly on the Korean food in Bellevue. It the only Korean restaurant in radius from work for me.

I went here with my friend for lunch because there aren’t many Korean Restaurants around Bellevue and this was the closest one. We wanted to try this place to see or ourselves regardless of the mixed reviews on Unilocal. When we walked through the doors, the restaurant was nicely decorated and it was very clean. We noticed it was quite busy because it was lunch time, but we were seated instantly. It took a while for us to get in our order which was understandable. I ordered the Beef Soon Du Bu soup and it came out in a reasonable amount of time. Normally in most Korean restaurants, the entrée comes with complimentary side dishes, a fried fish and a Korean pancake, however, at this place, they did not have the fried fish nor the Korean pancake which disappointed me. The side dishes were not flavorful at all and the portions were very small. When the soup came out, my first impression was that it LOOKED delicious, it came out boiling and the color was vibrant. Soon Du Bu is usually served with an optional egg that is dropped in the soup, but the waitress did not ask me if I wanted the egg. When I stirred my soup, there was little to no beef and it was very thick. The broth tasted nothing like the traditional Soon Du Bu, it tasted like a lot like a seafood broth and reminded me of Chinese soup, nothing like a Korean dish. The waitress did not check up on us and we had to ask for our water, it did not come out automatically like most restaurants. Overall, the service was not the best and the food was definitely not authentic, not worth it for the price. I advise you to go spend your money somewhere else, like Sushi Maru across the street.

I’ve only had Korean BBQ a handful of times and this place does a pretty good job of offering genuine tasting options. Granted, there was nothing incredibly stellar about the dishes, but it still hits you in all the right spots when you get these kinds of cravings. That being said, the service was very disconnected. Food would come out relatively fast and the exchanges you’d have with your server would be at twice that speed. They have this sort of «hit-and-run» thing going where they just refuse to talk to you any longer than is absolutely necessary. Don’t even try to attempt asking questions about the menu. That ish just won’t fly. I’m attributing the lack of communication to a language barrier. The servers had no issue talking at length with patrons who spoke their native language. Still, a solid place to come provided you’re personally well versed in the cuisine.

Came here with a friend with low expectations – we had passed by this restaurant several times and never gone in – but were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was small but clean on the inside and the smell of Korean food welcomes you the second you walk in the door. I ordered the beef soon du bu and my friend ordered the seafood soon du bu. Both came out piping hot and we both loved our dishes – his really spicy and mine mild. The service was nothing exceptional, but we had good food and good company, so we have nothing to complain about. The location is close to my work and there’s a parking lot, so I’ll definitely be coming back!

The hubs and I were in town and staying in the area and we needed a place within walking distance for a quick lunch. Thanks to Unilocal I found this little mom and pop shop. Pricing wise I think they are slightly high for some items but reasonable for others. They also offer the hwe dup bop which is sashimi with rice. Needless to say I got that and while it was a nice abundancy of sashimi, a lot of it was FROZEN still. You get salmon, tuna, and hamachi. It was decent but not when its frozen. The hubs got kalbi dol sot bop which he really enjoyed. I was pretty impressed with the amount of meat that it came with. Quick service and friendly. would be back if I was in the area.

I tried the Combo Spicy Tofu Soup, which had beef and seafood in it, and I thought it was delicious. I ordered it five-star spiciness, and it had good flavor and spice to it. I also liked that they give the little side dishes and rice while you waited for your food. It was pretty satisfied after lunch.

Pricey for a little family run business in Bellevue. Maybe the rent’s too damn high but so is the price for the bi bim bop. You’ll average out about $ 15 per meal here. But heres the real sticking point for me, the supreme lack of banchan dishes that were served between me and the guy. We only had 4 — when there usually comes 6 – 8 servings. Major let down because thats what I always look forward to the most! In fact the single guy across from us got more variety. Between the lackluster bi bim bop and mul naengmyung there wasn’t much more left than bland.

I’m not sure how this restaurant has stayed in business for so long. The place was empty during lunch. I didn’t understand why until I saw the menu. I can not stress this enough, the prices were way too $$$$. I’ve been eating Korean food around the Puget Sound area for years and have never come across prices like this. The food was good, until later in the day, when I found myself drinking LOTS of water from the seriously salty food. When I tried to engage in conversation with the waitress(we were the only two people in the place) she turned and walked away from me mid sentence(and yes she did speak english). A very strange experience indeed.

Uninspired. I was pretty excited to find a legit Korean(as opposed to some kind of fusion) restaurant in Bellevue, so much so I pushed right past the luke warm reviews to try it. Big mistake. Had the neng myeun, wife had the tofu soup, both were simply mediocre. To an undiscerning tongue, you may not notice the little inconsistencies in the fare. But go to Stone Korean restaurant in Remond and try the chik neng myeun there to best make my point. There’s a reason why I’ve been there a half dozen times in about a year. The broth is clean with a pop and a zing if you will. Forgive the technical inadequacies of my review. The ban chan… the essence of a Korean experience, just seemed dingy and uninspired. Definitely has shades of South gate, which is equally as average. Places like this simply remind me of the addage that traveling a little further to get something truly quality is worth the trip.

I had their bibim neang myun(cold noodles). It was too sweet for my liking. The banchan is okay. Bellevue is not to par for korean food yet.

I’m a fan of Korean food, I mean who doesn’t love some Kalbi, Kimchi and rice? Anyway, living in downtown Bellevue and most of my Korean food options required a 10 – 15 minute drive, which is long for my lazy butt. Anyway, this place opened up right next to my Safeway, so that’s a welcome treat. They have all my standard menu items, Kimchi Jjigae, Bulgolgi Kalbi and Panjeon. First off, the one negative. Prices are very high IMO. Korean food in general is expensive, add In the Bellevue location markup and yeah it’s pretty high. I think the Kalbi was $ 30 and sadly I’m a big enough eater where the portion I would consider good for 1.5 people not 2 or 3 which would be expected out of the price. They have a good assortment of sides, but the last time I came in they were missing the marinated bean sprouts which is usually one of my favorites. Kimchi last time was also a little bland as someone else pointed out. Although I have been in before and it had a good bite, so maybe it was just the day I came in or something. Service is fast and friendly enough. Unlike some other Korean BBQ shops there is no little service button, so you do need to flag down people, but I didn’t get the upset face like«why are you bothering me» which is normal at many Asian restaurants. So that’s a plus. The place is clean, cozy, a little small including the parking lot. BUT I’ve never had trouble finding a parking spot or finding a table. Kalbi was good, nothing really stands out from other Korean BBQ places, but it’s still good Kalbi if that makes any sense. Good flavor, good quality meat, I wish more in regards to portion(so maybe fill up on your sides and rice). The Kimchi JJigae(stew) is definitely good, again small on the portion side, but really, really flavorful and tasty. I’m going to continue adding this one to my order whenever I visit. Bottomline if you’re like me and just want some Korean food in downtown Bellevue, not a bad spot. Nothing worth driving out of your way for though. My real star rating is 3.5, but since I have to pick between 3 or 4, I’m going to say 3, because I’ve rated better places 4.

Cute place in Bellevue. I wanted to love this place. I ordered the seafood tofu stew and it was bland. It wasn’t even that spicy either. The sides were ok. The staff was nice but took forever to get our order and the place wasn’t even packed. I feel like it was a little too pricey for what it was worth.
