15 Minute Smog Test Only and Oil Change

There’s a reason these guys have an abundance of good reviews. They were quick, gave great service and charged a reasonable price for a fully synthetic oil change. I originally emailed the business to see if I could schedule a smog check for the following day. Jose responded within a few hours to my email and confirmed an appointment time for me. When I arrived for the check, I got in immediately and was out within 15 minutes, as promised. Couldn’t have been easier.

Excellent customer service. Went in to get my oil changed — was out in 10 minutes. My car only takes synthetic oil, which is usually really expensive. Jose provided a price I couldn’t refuse! One thing I really appreciated was the fact that he didn’t try to sell me different products or services. He made suggestions, and that was it — no hounding or hustling. Highly recommend!

Love how quick and easy this process was. They are super friendly and helpful. There was a place to sit outside and lots of magazines to keep you busy. And it took 15 minutes at most to do smog check and cost $ 30.00. I would highly recommend coming here.

This place is the best.
Places like this are why I love Unilocal.Would I have gone here instead of the more expensive place next door? Would I have just tried the nearest local place on San Pablo? Would I have gone back to the three star place I’d been to before, thinking that it was at least ‘good enough?’ Perhaps.

This is exactly what you are looking for. It’s the cheapest and the best. Smogs are easy when your car’s going to pass, but Jose is the easiest, quickest, and cheapest.

I live in the Sunset, SF but always come to change my oil with Jose. He is not only very friendly and does a great job, but is also very honest.
About a month ago I took my car to another mechanic that he had previously done some repairs like changing lights, electrical work and replacement of the front brakes. I had been hearing a noise and thought they were the brakes again, which is weird because they had been replaced less than 1 year ago. This person checked my car with a flashlight in the dark at night and it took him two seconds to tell me that my rear brakes were bad and needed to be replaced. I decided I was going to wait and look for another opinion. I took the car to Jose for regular oil change and asked him to inspect my brakes. Jose told me they did not needed to be replaced, they were fine. Same as he warned me about a small oil leak that this other person said it was very serious.
I highly recommend this place! Jose has all my trust!

Came here for an oil change & couldn’t be happier with the service, length of time and price! I’ve been to 5 – 6 different oil change places in the Bay Area, and this has been the best experience to date. Jose is very friendly, genuine, and experienced in his trade.

I needed a STAR certified smog test, and was in and out of there in under 15 minutes — a great Unilocal deal was given to me, and very friendly customer service and updates on my progress. Will definitely be coming back when I need another check!

In and out in less then 15 minutes. I pulled up without an appointment and they got me right in. I took my dog for a walk around block and when I got back they were pulling my car out of the garage. Quick and easy with no pain.

Getting an oil change is never fun, but as a young female person, it is ESPECIALLY UNFUN. I’m not sure how to describe it, but it is almost as if car mechanics (literally every single one, with the exception of TWO PLACES i’ve been to) feel a compulsive need to rip me off. Or maybe they just don’t know how to communicate with me about my automotive needs so that I don’t end up paying $ 100 for what is really a simple oil change. I don’t know. In any case, I dread oil changes more than I dread dentist appointments and meeting my boyfriend’s parents COMBINED. But now it’s really not so bad. Thank goodness a friend recommended this place to me.
As the long list of five star reviews can tell you, Jose is consistent. I usually call before I go to make sure he’s not swamped, but he is very okay if you show up unannounced. If you want to go take a walk while he works, you can leave your number with him and he’ll call you as soon as he’s done. Your windows will be cleaned. There are magazines and wifi, neither of which I have actually used because he’s really fast (less than 20 min) and I usually sit there and watch him do whatever it is that he’s doing OR take a walk around (there’s an art store nearby).
He’ll also give me a quick status update on the rest of my car (how are the tires, etc.) and I take it gladly. I’m also more prone to trust him since the man literally does only oil changes and smog checks, so it’s not like he’ll make any more money off of me if he tells me something’s wrong.
Seriously, I’m kind of ready to go here for oil changes for the rest of my car-​owning, Berkeley-​residing existence. Now if I could find a hair stylist that I trust just as much, maybe I can finally call myself a proper adult.

3. staff was friendly and inspected my car 1^st since I had an appt

4. my car passed the test, pd $ 30 = $ 20 test + $ 10 certificate, and out the door I went

No vas a ver un smog test mas rapido y profesional como el que te hace Jose. No pase el smog test por un problema en el coche, al final lo arregle y volvi y termine pagando $ 30 en total. Jose es una persona muy capaz y muy amable. Fue un placer conocerle y aqui volvere para mi siguiente Smog Test.
