Left my dog with a
dog sitter. Worst decision of my life.
Dog was dropped off healthy and happy. When I picked him up, he was covered in deep gashes and skin legions.
Please do not use
, the company does not screen their sitters and does not cover vet bills unless it is over 500 dollars out of pocket, despite the dog being injured at the sitters.

I’ve used
to find a sitter for my sweet golden retriever. I’ve used Kathleen 2 times and she’s as sweet as can be. My dog stays in her home and the second time she came home bathed and smelling good. I’m afraid she will end up liking Kathleen more than me!
The website is a great resource, but as with anything you can always run into problems. I’m grading on the service itself. I’ve had a fantastic experience and will use again and again.

is an excellent source for finding dog boarding in my area. My family has lived and traveled various places over the past two years and we have always been able to find a caring, loving and dependable dog sitter through
that was affordable and very convenient. The website makes it so easy to find a local sitter and be able to read about them and communicate prior to a scheduled drop-​off date. We always recommend this to our friends looking for local dog care services.

The Rover concept is great. But, you have to be VERY careful of the individual dog sitter. I used Elizabeth Ewing/​Chevy Chase to watch my 2 dogs in my home for 11 days. During that time, she moved in her husband and son, went off to a meeting and her under-​age kid was in charge of my dogs. The husband, Ted Andrews, got into my computer, the kid messed up the programming on my TV and the family basically had a mini-​vacation in my home in my absence. I never met the husband or the kid, but they were living in my home without the approved-​dog sitter. NONE of this was OK’d by me and I didn’t know it was happening. Despite regular communication, Ewing never asked my permission or told me what was going on. When I discovered the truth — there were a lot of lies and cover-​ups. Rover is GREAT — good customer service when I complained — but — this experience has made me decide to have ALL dog sitters sign an agreement with me – in addition to the one the sitters want you to sign. Rover cannot guarantee what the dog sitters do once they get in your home and have access to your private things. Protect yourself and your dogs!

We’re tickled pink with the dogsitter we found on
. The website is pretty well-​designed and the map view feature is super helpful. Kind of like Airbnb for dogs. lol.

We used
for petsitting over the Christmas break and could not have been happier. The service was easy to use, communication was seamless, and our sitter was amazing! I think our dog was actually bored when we came home because he missed his sitter and her pup so much. We received photo updates every day, and it was wonderful to know our dog was getting lots of play time and attention.
We will absolutely rebook when we travel again!
