Westfield Montgomery

(This might be closer to 3.5 stars to me, but that’s primarily because the stores here aren’t really the ones that I most enjoy wandering in and out of.) This is a great-​sized mall with lots of stores and plenty of restaurants. The two-​story mall’s design is basically one long hall with two offset branches near the middle. In one quadrant, the two hallway-​segment ends are connected by the swath of the «Dining Terrace,» which is outstanding… but I’ll get to that in a minute. The mall is nice and bright with lots of skylights, glass, light-​toned marble, and wide walkways. The times I’ve been, the mall has been lively with loads of people. There isn’t a lot of seating (other than in the food court), but occasional chairs or benches are around if needed. The stores are mostly modern, on the mid-​high end and above. I thought of them as falling somewhere between the general level of stores found in Tysons I and found in Tysons II. Parking is mostly in large lots and a single garage; there seemed to be a decent amount of parking, but at the same time, it might be too few spaces for a mall of this size, with spots being hard to come by more often than would be expected.
Alright, so the Dining Terrace… To me, this would be five stars on its own. (Okay, maybe 4.5 stars, but that’s only because I was specifically looking for a cookie place and that’s something they didn’t have. It was a travesty, I tell you!) The area is very, very cool. It’s a three story atrium with a dark grey modern look, contrasting with the gleaming mall. The space is full of restaurants — food-​court style eateries as well as a few full restaurants. Most of the spots are relatively unique too, which is great, with very few of the usual food court suspects. All the restaurants are on the first floor except for the Met Bar, which is on the 3^rd floor with the movie theater. (The theater was from a chain I hadn’t heard of before, but it looked very nice.) There are many other restaurants scattered throughout the mall — and in a nearby strip mall /​mall annex — not only in the Dining Terrace.
Westfield is a nice place to wander and shop… but especially to eat!

I generally like the mall but was extremely disappointed in how they handled today’s triple shooting outside of Macy’s. I was in the mall today and there was no announcement about the serious incident; even the employees weren’t notified properly. Family and friends notified them that a shooting took place and the shooter was still on the loose. The stores went on lock down piece meal, but the shoppers were stuck in the outer mall getting updates /​alerts from their phones. If you value your safety, I’d think twice about shopping here. Business seems to be more a priority than keeping customers and employees safe.

what happen to Montgomery mall? the only good thing is the Nordstrom’s and Macy’s mall. Only because I don’t like Columbia mall Nordstrom but overall Columbia mall is s now better.

Westfield has a lot of great stores and the ambience is nice, however the last couple of times that’s I have been in there the mall has literally smelled like sh*t. I don’t know if it’s a sewage problem but in some areas I was scared to open my mouth. This has to be a health hazard. Whatever the problem is Westfield has several stores across the U. S and they make way too much money to not get this problem fixed.

For the Spirit of Valentine’s day this past Friday my husband and I mutually agreed to go to the Westfield Montgomery mall in Bethesday Maryland, There were multiple fascinating shops and the vibe/​energy of the mall was very inviting. There are stores inside this mall such as Brookstone’s, Apple, and Teavana. I would actually visit this mall more often if I lived closer.

I hate the mall. I mean the traffic, parking wars, foot traffic – it all makes me want to stay inside or go to Nordstrom Rack in Rockville. (((social anxiety))) But I’ve grown up going to Montgomery mall and over the past few years, it’s made many improvements.
BUT, I do like that it now has Urban Outfitters, LuluLemon, Starbucks, and Cava. And the theaters (Arclight Cinemas) are really nice now. you can even get alcoholic beverages in there :)
But with all the renovations and new additions to the mall, it’s gotten 10X better! I definitely think Nordstrom can expand a bit more and carry more brands. Definitely wish they had an H&M too. Is there a MAC store there? Definitely need that as well cuz it’s not enough at Nordstrom.

The bathrooms still need a bit more improvement. They’re not the cleanest or the most up-​to-​date bathrooms. You might find some toilet paper on the ground, or none altogether, missing coat hooks, broken locks, etc. But then again, maybe its just like that on the weekends.

I’ve been coming to this mall for as long as I can remember. They have recently made some changes to make the mall seem more high end. As an employee of this mall, I am concerned with the major changes they are making due to the clientele. The mall is usually clean and there are security guards walking the mall for me to feel safe. The parking situation during the holidays and on the weekends can be enough to avoid the mall, but as an employee I have no choice. This is my mall of choice as the next best thing is Tyson’s and that mall is a zoo any day of the week.

Went here to do some last minute Christmas shopping. Jesus take the wheel. Parking is always an issue during this time of year. I can usually find something around the food court on a normal day. But I know they have ample amount of parking in the garages. So Montgomery mall has the BEST food court hands down. You can literally find every type of food here. From Greek, to Japenese, to indian, American, fast food, and a large cold stone creamery right in the middle. Geez. If I worked in that mall I would be big as a house. This has the nearest Sephora to me. I typically don’t like their setup in JC Pennys. This location has plenty of shopping stores. This mall has it all and is always well kept on the interior. I wish there was a Charlotte Ruse tho.

this was «the» mall to shop at when i was living in the area, roughly 20 years ago, and i’m glad to see that it is still one of the top malls in the area. several new stores have opened since i shopped here as a local, and they’ve added quite a few more kiosks to the walkways. a brand new dining terrace has opened, with a plethora of new eateries to choose from. but the familiar anchor department stores are still here, macy’s, nordstrom, and sears. personally, i love shopping at ann taylor, banana republic, aldo, and lululemon, women’s fashions, shoes, and athletic wear. parking still remains problematic, especially during weekends and the holidays, so be prepared to circle around, and around, and around (yes possibly 3 times) before you find a space, or catch someone leaving.

Interior is beautiful! Especially with the season being around the holidays, the mall displayed hanging lights and floating structures from the ceilings.
The food court here is also a lot more diversified than the food courts I often see back home in Atlanta. The options appeal to any budget, with various fast food or cheaper options on the lower end, to Chipotle and other «tex-​mex» options, to a more upscale Italian restaurant/​bar as well as a shop in the food court that specializes in lobster dishes (lobster mac and cheese, lobster rolls, etc), which I was pleasantly surprised by.
Shops aren’t as varied as I had hoped, but there is still a good selection!

Probably the best mall in the area. It’s clean, (even the bathrooms), fairly well organized and easy to get around.
There’s quite a lot of selection, plus the cinema is one of the nicest ones around (ArcLight). They’re missing a few stores like H&M, but it’s not like you can’t find that somewhere else close by.
My biggest gripe about the place is especially near the holidays, parking is just horrendous. There’s no rhyme or reason, and I really feel as if I’m taking my life into my hands every time I go into one of the garages… But, it beats the pants off from Lake Forest or Wheaton.

A really nice shopping center that looked clean and well-​kept. It has a great food court area and an attached theatre. My only gripe was that the parking was a little confusing and surprisingly hard to come by. I did like the little lounge areas, and updates.

Renovated, Parking Garages, Updated Food Court, Brand new Arc Light Movie Theater w/​Comfortable chairs and upsacle food, Macys etc.
Definitely check it out if you’re looking to shop in this area!

Including Nordstrom, Macy’s, Starbucks, Bobby’s Burger Palace & the Cheesecake Factory. I have enjoyed good experiences at each establishment to date.

The last time I’ve been to Montgomery Mall was during my high school days, and the food court and restaurants have changed SO MUCH since then. I almost couldn’t recognize the food court – so modern. So many places to eat. i would come here for the food alone.
The stores have stayed the same – now I love Brookstone for their massage chairs, I am seriously considering purchasing one now. And of course, the wonderful Nordstorm, Zara, Madewell.
A cheesecake factory, bobby’s burger place, the MET (third floor floor to ceiling window restaurant in a mall!!! what has the world come to.), naples (a beautiful pizza place) a bubble tea stand, and much more.
It’s a manageable mall (not as big and overwhelming like Tysons Corner) and a great dining selection. Will return!

What a great mall. I go to this mall mostly when I’m in the Rockville bethesda area.
The mall is clean and massive. Although, the area in front of Macy’s is under some major construction. So that part of the mall is very messy. But that’s just temporary.
This mall has all the major mainstream shops. My favorite is Zara. And this mall has a bubble tea stand, yum! You could shop hours at this mall. And they have a wide range of food options available at this mall.
The parking is fabulous and never very stressful. There is a vast amount of parking spots throughout the mall’s parking lots and garages.
This mall is a great way to spend your weekend shopping. The mall has great seating. The seating is classy and it’s clear the mall has invested quiet a deal of money in their seating and décor.

This mall is basic bitch central. Seriously, if I had a dime for every Pink yoga pants, Ugg boot, and MK bag combo walking around sipping Starbucks I could afford to quit my job.
What is up with the pretentious ass food court? Child please.
If your olfactory sense even halfway works, stay away from the second floor Macy’s end. The A&F scents immediately assault you and induce worst hangover of your life level nausea.
Nordstrom and quick takeout from CPK or Cheesecake Factory are the only reasons to come here. Even Sephora and J Crew are subpar.
Even though I’m a conservative, God bless Al Gore for creating the internet and ergo online shopping.

I get soooo lost in this mall! The directories are few and far between. If you come here, it helps to know your destination and exit plan (remember a store near where you parked). It can feel like a real maze inside.
On the plus side, some of my favorite shopping haunts are here. Just come prepared for a little frustration getting in and out.

Not bad as malls go, lots of higher end stores and an eclectic food court with Thai and sushi as well as the usual junk food. Traffic patterns in and out and parking are a real zoo. If you’re planning to do any holiday shopping here come prepared with a good night’s sleep and a lot of patience.

Usually I do not review malls that I frequent but this place really does have a special place in my heart. As a little girl I used to frequent Wheaton Mall (before they jazzed it up don’t act like I am the only one who remember those days) and this was my outlet. I thought I was in Disneyland as a kid coming here. Everything was so pristine, the stores were not cluttered or dirty, and I would just die when my mother and I would make our ritual trip to Chick Fil A. These little memories always hold near and dear to me because as I grow older I realized how these moments were fleeting and I took them for granted.
Fast forward, I still enjoy the mall and my favorite stores are Old Navy (can’t wait to shop and catch a sale), Bath and Body Works (do you really need to ask), Express (cute clothes and sales), and even though it is not a store a special shout out to The Cheesecake Factory my favorite restaurant (next to TGIFridays) in the whole wide world.
I cannot find any cons for this mall (even though parking can be a you know what) but for what it is worth to get great sales, great shopping, great stores, and a convenient location (it is metro accessible) Montgomery Mall will always be my first pick. You cannot go wrong with this mall and you will not be disappointed
