Very professional! Dr. Beyer is really, really good at what he does. My procedure and recovery went smoothly and I am very pleased with my results.
I recommend him to anyone considering lasik.

I couldn’t be more happy with my new eyes after PRK at Beyer. My clarity of vision is better than it ever has been before. It’s simply amazing to get to the top of a mountain and be able to see the detail in every leaf on every tree far below, when it all used to be a blur. I have even better vision than I did with my best glasses. I agree with some of the other folks on here that the pre-​op procedures, prescriptions, and such could be a bit smoother, but the results were fantastic!

My vision went from around ²⁰⁄₈₀₀ to ²⁰⁄₂₀ — what more can I say?!
Between all the pre-​op, post-​op and check up visits I’ve probably met most of the staff and they’re all plenty friendly with a professional bedside manner. Dr. Beyer himself is probably the most laid back of the bunch and is very pleasant as well as skilled. I truly felt like I was prepared and taken care of through the whole process of PRK surgery and recovery. Unfortunately I can’t comment on price as I haven’t compared it to other locations, but I can say that it was around $ 4K for custom PRK surgery in both eyes and included all office visits but not medication.
If you’re on the fence about the actual procedure, I can’t recommend it enough. What’s a few days of scratchy eyes (I was seriously fine with Advil — no prescription meds needed!) and lots of eyedrops compared to perfect vision for the rest of your life?

For those of you who know me well you know how poor my eyesight had always been. I started wearing glasses 18 years ago, switched to contacts which I had to stop wearing due to irritation and dry eye. I haven’t always been consistent with wearing my glasses so I had decided about 8 years ago to get LASIK. I chose to wait until my prescription stabilized and I had the funding up front to do so. After extensive research along with an excellent recommendation from my optometrist I chose Dr. Beyer of BoulderEyes. On July 23 I had PRK corrective eye surgery and I am not looking back, no pun intended. I am now seeing ²⁰⁄₂₀ and I couldn’t be more thrilled. For any of you considering having this procedure done look no further than BoulderEyes! Dr. Beyer is fantastic, he is so kind and he really knows what he’s doing. I look forward to seeing beautifully for the rest of my life!!!

It was cool that they let me use both a Groupon and a Living Social Coupon. The office is nice and pleasant. The same can be said for my doctor. However, I called to order contacts from them and they would not price match. Rather, they would only price match 1−800-contacts so I ended up placing an order a
since I had a coupon.
Initially there as an accidental mix up-​with my prescription and that caused me some extra hassle. I’ll leave that part of the story out because it’s complicated. Luckily, someone from Boulder Eyes recognized the difficulties I was having and gave me a call to get everything sorted out. She went above and beyond to get to make sure I was a satisfied customer. This is a five star place.

I found Beyer Lasik to be amazing. They made the entire process very easy and gave me a lot of information. I had the LASIK surgery done about 6 months ago. I didnt have any problems — no infections or anything. I highly recommend this place.

I had LASIK done here with Dr Beyer. Ill say, the staff is personal. They are professional, and they are knowledgable. Unlike any type of assembly line LASIK you might find in Denver. The staff here is what makes this a 5 star for me.
The surgery is a quick procedure, and Dr Beyer is the best of the best, being the first Dr in the state of CO to perform the procedure. Now with countless surgeries under his belt you can rest assured you are getting it done right.
You can’t go wrong with Boulder eyes. Do your research like I did and you’ll find yourself making your first appointment here. You won’t be let down!

I did PRK 1 week ago and my vision is already ²⁰⁄₂₀! I’ve had a great experience with the whole staff, and they have worked hard to make sure I felt comfortable through the whole process!

Dr. Beyer performed my LASIK procedure way back in 2007 — and I just went for a follow up appointment and I could literally read the ²⁰⁄₁₀ line still! I was a minus 6 ½ in each eye, so basically blind. After my procedure, and for the last 6 years, I’ve been able to see better than ²⁰⁄₂₀. I know there are a lot of people who talk about their vision after LASIK, but mine seriously has been spectacular. I’m so so happy with my result, and trusting Dr. Beyer with my vision was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I personally think anyone wearing glasses should get LASIK — it’s life changing — and I would highly recommend Dr. Beyer.

I can’t believe i waited so long to have PRK done. I did a lot of research and I am so happy that i chose Dr. Beyer (at BoulderEyes /​Beyer Laser Center). Dr. B and his staff were incredible. They were informative and super patient with me throughout the process. The customer service before, during and after has been tremendous. The procedures was quick and recovery was painless. Travelling without glasses and contacts is amazing. Had i realized how great it would be to live without glasses and how painless this procedures was, i certainly would have had this done years ago. I certainly recommend Dr. Beyer and team. Thanks Dr. B for the excellent care.

I wanted to make sure to wait for about a month before I wrote my review — that’s about how long PRK takes to fully recover from. Yes, you can drive like a week later, but to really get your vision to 100% takes a while.
Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the results of the surgery — I can see very well, my eyes don’t feel super dry even though I do have to still use drops a bit. The surgery itself was very quick, and Dr. Beyer was very good — professional, and knew how to calm me down just right (there is stuff coming at your eyes, and it is freaky). So far, my follow up appointments have been seamless; they get me in within a couple minutes of me getting there.
The one negative of the place did cause quite a bit of stress for me. On the info sheet they gave me, it said that I was supposed to not wear soft contacts for a week prior to my pre-​op (mine was the day before the surgery) and to start taking Acuvail drops 3 days prior to the surgery. I call in about a week in advance and talk to the receptionist about the Acuvail, and she asks which pharmacy I use, so it can be called in. Well, 4 days before the surgery, I stop by my pharmacy to pick up the drops… and they have nothing. Like, no one called in. With the pharmacist there, I phone the office, and get Dr. Beyer on the line — turns out I needed 3 types of drops, not 1, and I need to start them 1 day before the surgery. And really, when I show up to my pre-​op (with a different doctor), he tells me he needs to prescribe the meds there. Not a huge deal — everything got sorted out, and I got my meds, but it was a BIG source of stress for me until I knew what was going on. It definitely could have been avoided if the paperwork they had was updated.

I couldn’t be happier. I went from «legally blind» to ²⁰⁄₂₀ on my first procedure. And everyone has been fantastic throughout the process. I chose Beyer because of Dr. Beyer’s history, and I have not been disappointed. My only regret is that I waited so long to do it!

I had LASIK done with him about 3 years ago. My vision was moderately bad, around 5 diopters. I found his bedside manners pretty rushed — it seemed like he had his 5-​minute slot allotted for me, wanted to pat me on the shoulder and welcome me, and then get back to whatever other project he was working on for the day outside the office. Most of the rest of the staff were similar — not particularly thoughtful or caring or interesting, just doing moderate-​quality patient management while cranking people through for $ 5K a pop. A little bit funny, seeing that they’re kind of a ’boutique’ operation, based in Boulder, etc. I’d hate to see what the larger and cheaper places are like.
That being said, my operation went off without a hitch, and my vision is great. My night vision is a little bit worse than it would be with a sharp & clean pair of glasses — I get some streaks and can’t see faint stars. During the day, it’s sharp and beautiful.
LASIK is not perfect — be aware of all the tradeoffs — but for me I’m certainly happy I got it. It wasn’t life-​changing at all, but it makes for one less thing to deal with, not having glasses. As for the doctor to do it, I’d go with someone local, since you’re going to have a lot of follow-​up appointments (probably 10 in total, start to finish). As for Dr. Beyer, besides his location, there was nothing particularly compelling to recommend (or un-​recommend) him.
One more thing: Beyer and his staff actually offered to FAKE THE DATE of my operation for insurance purposes, after I told them I was thinking of postponing it till the new year when I was on different insurance. WTF? «Oh, we do this all the time for people…,» they said.
SCAM ALERT! When I got my LASIK done, Beyer was advertising a ‘half off’ special. The deal seemed a little slimy: basically, pay full price for LASIK now, and he gives you a coupon to send in. Then, in exactly 47 months, you can send the coupon to a PO Box in Grand Junction, and they’ll allegedly write you a check for half the cost of your surgery (or about $ 2000 in my case). Pretty hokey, eh? But really true. This seemed legal but awfully slimy to me. I’ve waited about 40 months and… surprise! I just got a letter from the Colorado Attorney General’s office telling me the whole thing was a scam. The company running the rebate program is broke, and the guy running it fled to Panama. The attorney general recovered a small amount of money — so instead of my $ 2000, they are offering to send me a check for $ 160. I called Beyer and they claim it’s not their fault (which is legally correct), but why in the world did they get involved with this shady deal, and bring their patients in to this pyramid scheme? I was skeptical but Beyer would not let me opt-​out of the plan at the time of my surgery. This was Beyer’s main promotional deal at the time I did my LASIK, and I and a lot of others got scammed out of thousands of dollars. Would recommend these folks to everyone. Did PRK last year. Been on the fence for 5 – 6 years and have had numerous consults with various laser centers in that time. Seeing ²⁰⁄₂₀ and loving it. Not the cheapest you will find but the care and professionalism is top notch and was at ease and well informed through the whole process. Knew I found the right place when I was in the waiting room and Kermit Ruffins & the BBQ swingers were on the overheads speakers.
