Specialties

The Brewing Market has proudly been roasting our own coffee since 1977. All of our coffee is the finest and freshest available. Enjoy our coffee by the cup or take home some of our whole beans to brew for yourself. We have over 40 varieties from all over the world. We strive to make our espresso live up to european standards.

We have candy and confections from local chocolatiers as well as european delights. We also offer a variety of coffee and tea equipment and accessories.

Our new Loose Leaf Tea line is sure to please discriminating tea lovers. Come in and chat with friends over a freshly brewed cup or pot, or buy tea by the ounce to enjoy at home.

Our customers are our highest priority and we are grateful for all of our longtime loyal friends. We invite you to drop in and relax, bring your friends or your laptop, sit inside or outside (we have overhead heaters if it gets chilly), and make yourself pleasantly at home.

History

Established in 1977.

The Brewing Market was established in 1977 and has been family owned and operated ever since. What once began as a small vendor’s booth in a building on Pearl St. has blossomed into a handful of five local coffee shops, each with its own personality and characteristics, tailored to fit the needs of the locals. First was the shop on 13th St. between Walnut and Pearl. Next came the Village Shopping Center store next to McGuckin Hardware. Longmont was next as we added the shop at Hover and Pike. Then the Basemar store was designed especially for students just south of the university. Lastly came the Lafayette location near Arapahoe and 95th by the YMCA.

All of the roasting has been done in house since day one. We are also famous for our hand brewed chai, also made in house by our own Chai Master.

Over the years, we have enjoyed the reputation of being the original Boulder Coffee Roaster with the best, freshest cup of coffee in town.

Business Owner

Artine Yapoujian is a Boulder icon. Yapoujian came to the states in his early twenties with $ 200 in his pocket. Through hard work and an entrepreneurial mind he grew from being a church janitor to being a fine jeweler to owning a small coffee business in Boulder, before Starbuck’s had ever been heard of. Yapoujian grew up roasting coffee with his Armenian family, where he also learned how to brew authentic Indian style Chai. Yapoujian, along with his wife, Sydney, can frequently be seen going to and from their five Brewing Market locations around the Boulder area, as they personally oversee their beloved business. Yapoujian is always eager to chat with his customers and looks forward to serving the community for many years to come.
