One of the few places that regularly has DJs and dancing in Boulder it seems. My experience has been skewed because I usually go on Thursdsy nights when it is busy. Kinda small dance floor, can get packed but overall a good vibe and you can usually find a seat if you are patient. Bartenders were good in my experience and I even got a «friendly discount» on a few of the drinks I ordered(love that) but drinks are otherwise a bit pricey. I have never tried the food so I cannot comment on that front. Overall, a good solid place – esp if they have good music spinning– but not anything that will knock your socks off.

I’ve been going to the b. side on Monday nights for a few weeks now — I’m a big fan of Geeks Who Drink trivia, and they recently added Monday nights to their schedule. For me, the atmosphere at b. side is a bit of the good and the bad — when they open the front windows wide and you can hear the noise of Pearl Street(but far enough away to be just a murmur), and the breeze blows in, it can be lovely — particularly with these mild summer nights we’ve been having. I even kind of dig the red walls. I like the layout of the room, some private little areas, or you can get up close and personal at the bar. On the other hand, the artwork and décor are a bit odd — a little bit funky cool, a little bit garage sale. Still, the restrooms are always clean and there’s plenty of soap and paper towels(I have a toddler, I notice these things, I can’t help it). I love the drinks and the food. Stella on tap, delicious martinis(used to be $ 5 during trivia, we were just told last night that they’ve gone up to $ 6), and really pretty good food. We’ve had the super garlicky pizza and the pepperoni, the burger, the spinach pie — loved them all. The prices are pretty reasonable, too — and they’re even better if you’re there on trivia night, when they give out gift cards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place! I haven’t been anywhere else in town that does that for us. The first time we went, they were a bit overwhelmed, I think someone didn’t show up for work and the bartender was trying to cover the whole place herself. Still, she was a good sport, and super friendly, and we ended up having a great time. Most nights, our service is terrific — friendly and efficient. I’m the mother of a small child, and I only get one night a week out. I’m happy to spend it at b. side.

This place had a nice low-key atmosphere and reasonably priced food. I went there tonight and a jazz band was playing. All-in-all it was a very pleasant experience! I’d definitely go back. They have a small patio which is lovely on a summer evening.

The B Side(which used to be Trilogy) has some fantastic martinis. That is the main reason it is often a staple on a night out in Boulder. The food is hit or miss, but nothing I’d turn my nose up at. I just prefer to have drinks at B Side. The bartenders are friendly and laid back and so it’s always pleasant to sit at the bar. After 9:30pm the place gets packed and is standing room only with a DJ on Fri & Sat nights. There is also live music in the back room which often requires a ticket purchase or cover charge. Wed happy hour is nice with appetizers and bottomless wines.

Back in Boulder for the break and it was sad to see Trilogy gone, but so good to see it transformed into such a nice space. Kept cozy, but reinvented in the b side lounge! Lunchtime cuisine was awesome. Amazing and inventive soups, ample portions and helpful and welcoming service. We came back for happy hour which was delicious and affordable. It will definitely be a stop anytime I’m back in Colorado!

I go to bottomless wine happy hour at least once a week. You can’t get better than bottomless red or white for $ 5.95. You just have to order a «small plate» which can be anywhere between $ 3 – 8. Not bad. I highly recommend the pomme frites but dont get the banana catsup– it tastes like a candle. The coconut shrimp are great as well and the focaccia bread is nice. The stuffed pepper small plate is really bland. The spinach pie was burnt when I had it but I imagine it’s not always like that. Yes, I’ve had every small plate in the joint and I love their happy hour. I can get out of here for $ 13 including tip! I like the new ownership but it’s never too busy in here– they should steel Reggae Wednesday back from Redfish. Anywho, their food is decent but I’ve only had the small plates and the hummus plate. I’ve heard of people getting sick from the food but I’ve never had a problem and it hasn’t stopped me. Highly recommended for happy hour but I would take someone elses opinion on a dinner experience.

Note: This is a wonderful new restaurant /lounge in the spot where the lively Trilogy used to be! On to my review: Today was the final day of my Seattle friend’s visit to Boulder. A group of her Boulder friends gathered in the lobby of the Boulderado where she and her family were staying. Many ideas were discussed in regard to where we would eat lunch together. Someone suggested the b. side, noting that they had just started serving lunch recently and we should try it. Since lunch at the b. side is relatively new, it was relatively empty. Whereas usually an empty restaurant at peak lunch hour is not a good sign, this was not the case here. It was excellent. People in our group tried various items on the menu, including the eggplant parmigiana sandwich, the tempeh reuben, the black bean burger, and the spanakopita. Most everyone in the group began their meal with parsnip soup, which looked and smelled marvelous. Unfortunately, they ran out of parsnip soup before I got there, as I had to run an errand after we made the decision as to where to dine. My salad was very good, as was my black bean burger. It had avocado, cheese, tomato, lettuce, and onion on it. The bun was fresh, the burger was tasty. I really was impressed with their tea selection. I realize this is a place where people like to go at happy hour and drink lots of wine. But they also have an elegant way of serving tea and coffee. Downright elegant. You have to experience it to appreciate it. I loved my white tea with rose petals. I took a picture of it and will put it with my personal Unilocal photos, rather than with the b. side listing. Not sure if the b. side wants to be identified with a photo of their tea… as it’s not their main feature. Our meals were ~$ 8 including all the food. A few bucks more for tea or coffee of course and well worth it! Very competent and friendly service(our server was probably the owner though we did not ask him and he did not say.) I highly recommend lunch at the b. side!!! P. S. It is important for you to know there is a very nice music venue(alley entrance) that is part of the b. side and continuing the Trilogy tradition, they offer high quality live entertainment just about every night of the week. Check their website for upcoming performances.

As far as Boulder lounges go, the B Side is grooovy. We can be found there on Wednesdays for happy hour, sampling their appetizers and bottomless wines. I like the décor, and the white chairs that look like thrones(there are just a few of them though, so good luck snagging one on Wednesdays — chances are I am sitting on it!). I would absolutelly LOVE the place, if not for the fact that like everything else in Boulder, it gets too crowded pretty early into the night. They get good music in, and I like the location of the DJ, but I do wish they would have more floor space to dance on. At around 11:30pm, it seems to become waaay too crowded, and I start feeling like I need to guard my precious personal space from invading elbows… The waitresses definitelly have lots of character, but so far we are yet to meet an attentive one. The 3 we had so far seemed a bit spacy and out of it.
