I go out of my way to use Agras Dry Cleaners. I mean this literally. I’ll pass four or five other cleaners on my walk there. It’s worth it. The important thing is that they have always done a perfect job — over several years, not one mishap. My shirts never come back crispy with starch. And yes, before Agras I had some bad experiences with the establishments I now walk by. Another thing that continually amazes me is that no matter how many weeks it has been, the owner always recognizes me immediately AND remembers the number on my claim check! How does he do that?! There’s also a parrot. I feel bad for caged birds, but he seems happy.

I’ve been to this establishment twice and the same person(I am assuming he owns the establishment) has rudely turned me down because my botton-up shirts, he said, would be hard to clean. Hard to clean? That is the whole point of taking your shirts to the dry cleaners, to clean them. Next time I will make sure to take my brand new, unworn shirts so it will be easier for him to clean them. He seemed a little confrontational both times. One time he suggested that I throw away one of my shirts, which I had wore once. I have found much friendlier dry cleaners in the area, and both times they have delivered my shirts back fully clean.

The people who run and work here are great! I am from out of town and was in Brooklyn for a wedding. When I got my suit out I noticed that they were missing the cuff links. Refusing to pay for new ones, I walked all over the city looking for a dry cleaner that might have some extra ones laying around… to no avail. Walking to dinner, the night before the wedding, I passed Agra’s and popped in. I told them my situation. They spent the next several minutes searching through every nook and cranny in the place but couldn’t find any. Oh well. BUT…the owner told me to come back in the morning and he would bring me some! He knew I was from out of town. He took down my cell number and name, and said, «Go have fun and don’t even worry about it. I’ll have some here for you in the morning». Awesome! I got back en route to the restaurant. About half a block away, my phone rang. It was Agra’s telling me they found some and I should come back right away. I ran back and he handed me the cuff links, and I looked great at the wedding the following day! These days you just don’t see service like that. They were friendly, very helpful, and went out of their way to accommodate me, even though it was not going to be profitable to them! If I am ever in Brooklyn again I will travel to give them my business! You should too!

Finally a decent Dry Cleaners has opened up around here! Agras is a simple dry cleaners that goes out of their way to make sure your clothes are done right! They are open on Sunday, and are open SUPER early during the weekdays. I think they open at 6am! The prices are really cheap(I think $ 2.50 for a shirt and $ 3 for pants, or vice versa) and they are super friendly. What more can I say, my clothes are in and out super fast and they are pretty cheap! Cannot beat that!
