Description

Specialties

Alice’s Arbor serves authentic, seasonal, full-flavored American dishes with an emphasis on farm-to-table fare for the Bed-Stuy, Clinton Hill and Crown Heights areas. We are open early til late every day to give our neighbors a haven whenever they may need it.

The décor of the restaurant is created from reclaimed materials throughout, with vintage barn wood and pallet wood being used to create a tasteful aesthetic. Our sensibility is casual comfort, while our service and product are of the highest quality. We pride ourselves on being as diverse as the neighborhood we’re located in. Our menu at night is based on local farms, while our wines are natural, organic and local.

Alice’s Arbor, is not only a restaurant but also a gourmet store selling local or organic groceries (pickles, cookies, pasta, jellies, books…) coupled with a day time operation serving delicious sandwiches and salads.

History

Established in 2012.

Alice’s Arbor Restaurant is an association of three people who met 15 years ago in the Lower East side.

Mike Franzetti, the chef, was a neighbor when Stephan Gerville and Dimitri opened Baraza and Esperanto in the East village. Dimitri Vlahakis then went on to open the popular Motorino, Summit bar and recently the Bowery Dinner.

Mike Franzetti, who has worked under Jean Louis Paladin, Jonathan Waxman and at Chestnut in Brooklyn has honed his skills in the European tradition and is now using them to pursue his main interest: authentic, seasonal, full-flavored American dishes with an emphasis on farm-to-table fare.
