I brought my dog Millie here and paid in advance for bath, ears, nails and cut. I came back at the time she was ready and they had only bathed her and cut two nails (while I was there). She’s a puppy mill rescue and I told the groomer she doesn’t respond to «no» well and just needs to be redirected. She’s 8 and 4 pounds. When I arrived, I watched/​heard him loudly saying «no» and saw my dog shaking on the table. They wouldn’t let me back so she came out. Anyway, fine, not everyone can work with puppy mill rescues. The staff here also couldn’t work with their own equipment and «couldn’t process a refund.» It was a debit card so I couldn’t dispute the charges. Really rude.

This is my first review and I’m bummed to write it. I was excited to find an affordable place in my neighborhood and had my dog Lola groomed on August 15th, 2014. I will say that the gentlemen that I talked with was super nice and cordial. However, my dog’s cut was terrible. I’ve uploaded photos to show details. There were lines where the razor obviously went too deep, uneven shaving and, worst of all, she was super, super skittish when I picked her up. It’s been 2 days and she’s still skittish and jumpy which is totally out of character for her.
I know there are great reviews for Bed-​Stuy Animal Spa but unfortunately, that was not my experience. I won’t be back or recommend it to anyone for sure.

We just brought our sweet dog amber and she tends to have separation anxiety so she was a bit hesitant going in but she came out looking wonderful and calm. The staff are very confident, competent and serious about the work they do. You can see them grooming through the glass. Also very affordable. We are very pleased!

This place is really great. Nice to see a small business that charges reasonable prices while still taking pride in their work. They gave our Ellie one of the best cuts she has had since we got her and we will keep taking her here for her future cuts. Great addition to the neighborhood.

They were really accommodating with my dog– she hates having her nails trimmed and freaks out, and they had no problem getting it done quickly. They also squeezed me in right before closing. It’s great to have a groomer right around the corner. I’d definitely take any of my dogs there again.

Excellent customer service. My dog went in looking like a mess and came out looking like a perfectly groomed Yorkie, despite his horrible behavior. Groomer is very patient and treated my dog with lots of love and patience. I love supporting family owned businesses and highly recommend this animal spa.

Yesterday was my dog Brodinski’s birthday (one year!) and I decided to give this place a try so he could look spiffy on his special day. I had passed by during a weekend morning walk and though yesterday would be a good time to try them out. I’m glad I did!
I called them around 10 am and took him in for a 1 pm appointment (woohoo, same-​day service!). I asked for a trim and all the basics for a shampoo, condition, and cut (all under $ 60 for small dogs). I went to pick up Bro a few hours later and he looked amazing! The groomer had cut Bro’s hair exactly as I had asked and had placed a little yellow bandana around his neck to boot!
Brodinski looked super cute on his birthday. I couldn’t ask for anything more. Great neighborhood staple!

I’ve taken my dog, Milo, for all his grooming needs here ever since I moved to this part of Bed-​Stuy. Customer service is great and Milo is always treated like one of their own — despite his crybaby behavior. He always come out shiny, clean, and with a cute doggy handkerchief around his neck. Great service to Tompkins Avenue.
