Bensonhurst Low Cost Animal Clinic

This doctor and his assistant are GREAT. I have been taking my cat to him since the first day I got my cat and I’ve been very HAPPY with the doctor, the assistant and in general with everything. I highly recommend this vet. The prices are so reasonable and he is very nice. They do not overcharge, the doctor is not greedy and he simply does what he needs to do. I’m happy I found them (among all these other places that overcharge you for doing nothing).

I’m actually at this place right now. I got here before it even opened and yet I have still been waiting to be seen for an hour and a half. I would just walk out except that this is my only chance to get my cat help until next weekend. The nurse took everyone’s names and then left us all in a tiny room with not even enough chairs for everyone. Horrible costumer service. Do not come here unless you like being left in a smelly waiting room with no one to tell you why it’s taking two hours to be seen by anyone.

I bought my dog here and the workers was very pleasant and everything was affordable I only pay 55.00 for a checkup and medication. I’ll defiantly go back because the medication work and my dog is healthy again.

I brought my cat Sugar here for his shots and his neutering surgery. The cost was very affordable and both the front desk receptionist and the vet were very nice and helpful. It seems like this place is run by people who genuinely care about animals and not just about money. I will definitely be bringing Sugar back to this place for his next checkup.

I had visited this clinic based on my friend’s recommendation and after reading reviews about the clinic on the Internet. Had learned bad news about my almost
15 y.o. Cat. But they were delivered in a very gentle way.
The doctor did not charge me any money for the visit.
I have cats for 18 years and I have plenty of experience with vet. Doctors in Brooklyn and Long Island (Oceanside and Rockville Centre). No comparison!
Will recommend dr. Robinson without any hesitation.

This clinic has been my choice for my kitty Sweetpea up until she came down with unsolvable kidney issues due to feline leukemia, and had to be put to sleep.
Laura, the assistant, called me with the blood test results, and spent time on the phone with me discussing what route to take. She was compassionate and caring through our conversation, and said a lot of things that really helped ease the pain — she reminded me that few people would take in an FeLV+ cat, and that Sweetpea was lucky that I provided her with a loving home instead of being out on the streets.
The waiting room can be a bit chaotic as appointments are walk-​in, and while Dr. Robinson isn’t much of a people person, he is great with furry friends. The costs are very reasonable, I believe $ 45 for a checkup, which is unbeatable in NYC.
When I adopt another cat, I will definitely continue to go to this clinic. They truly care about animals.

This place is the best of the best.
Laura is a great asset to Dr. Robinson.
He does not have the best bedside mamner but he is very good. They are very quick, very efficient and very reasonable prices. I highly recommend them. I have been taking my cats there for the last ten years or more.

We have been going to Dr. Robinson for many years. He has taken care of my many pet’s through out the year’s and I have nothing but wonderful things to say. He is very detailed and always make’s sure to give us all the necessary information to make the right decision for our pet. Laura, is always their to answer any questions we may have and help in anyway she can. I highly recommend Dr. Robinson and his staff.

I know, it’s not the most impressive looking veterinarian’s office, but Dr Robinson gets the job done, and Laura was so sweet.
Since moving to NYC, it’s hard to wrap my head around the hundreds of dollars that some vets charge for routine care, especially when they try to bully you into extra procedures and bloodwork. I’d never experienced that before, and I was very happy to have found this Vet and a caring environment at reasonable (non-​NYC) prices.
Will definitely be bringing all of my furry babies here from now on!

The highest bill I ever got was for an office visit plus all his shots and the bill was only $ 75

Was recommended by a coworker to go see Dr. Robinson and she warned me about his usually unfriendly attitude. I was prepared to deal with a grumpy man but he turned out to be very polite. He isn’t very social but still nice and caring about the animal. Unlike the previous vet I visited Dr Robinson actually cared about the dog (pitbull mix) and didn’t assume that he was going to be mauled to death. He did a thorough exam of my dog, took blood and also recommended a clinic where to have his teeth check. Defenitly going back there !!!

AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!
Avoid this place at all costs. Dr. Robinson didn’t say a word, look us in the eyes or ask any questions… It was as if we weren’t even there. They were very rough with our 18 year old cat. Threw a towel over her head and grabbed her by the neck! Then the «assistant» Laura told us «This cat is being difficult» Then she told us we have to leave!!! She must be a miserable person to do this and I don’t know where the doctor graduated from but he’s very incompetent. She had the nerve to say I was being nasty by asking her a question. The huge secretary came out yelling. This place is an awful mess and needs to be reported.
Needless to say, they aren’t getting a dime. Low cost=low quality.

Laura & Dr Donald Robinson have been my family animal clinic for the longest time. Our first dog used to pull and fight her way in just to see Laura & Doc. Even though we’re not in the area anymore but we still go there because they are so awesome! Great job guys!

I would give this place a 5 star if it wasn’t for the inconvenient hours! Mr. Robinson is very professional, the staff is very helpful and friendly. I feel safe bringing my cat here.

Sorry to say the most unprofessional vet I’ve ever been to. There was some personal issue going on when I arrived, as the receptionist was cursing and tossing things around, as was the vet. They took the people they knew personally before me, even though I was there and had an appointment, telling that they’d only take a minute. So what?! You take your clients in order no matter how long it takes. The vet was a in bad mood, very unprofessional, tossing things around in anger, so much so I asked if I should leave to let him calm himself down. He examined my obviously sick cat without interest and said his teeth needed cleaning, that was it. I knew it was more than that so I thanked him and took him to the Bath Animal Hospital, where the vet discovered a serious upper respiratory infection, along with a whole host of other issues — the teeth were the least of his problems. If I’d let the Low Cost vet put him under for the cleaning, my cat would have DIED. Thank God for showing me he wasn’t trustworthy.
The good reviews here are obviously from the cat rescuers he treats at a deep discount, as there were about three non-​owners there when I was, so it’s a bit of a quid-​pro-​quo going on here. So, he’s fine for rescues but NOT for family pets. Don’t try to save the money if you love your pet, save up and go to a real vet. I will recommend him for pets you don’t particularly care about for an exam, although he doesn’t seem that good at that, as my cat was rasping so loudly I could hear it. Sorry, but this was my experience.

Brought my puppy in for his first shots. Great place. They have a lot of cats in the back and let them walk around which made me happy because showed me they cared. Doctor and his assistants were very helpful.
Although the office is a bit shabby and old, I can assure you everything is clean and sanitized for your pets.
I’m not really sure how to compare prices but I’m sure they’re cheaper than the vet across the street

Today I brought my pet over to Low Cost Animal Clinic for the first time after doing thorough research on affordable veterinarians in Brooklyn.
I normally go to the Humane Society in the upper east Side, but they didn’t have an appointment for me until the end of the Month, sooo there I go…
Boy! What a mistake. After paying a $ 30 fee for a five minute check up, this vet didn’t even check my dog’s heart beat, open his mouth to look at his teeth or check for any fleas on his skin!!! What the hell! Not only that, he stuck two huge swabs in my pets ear and immediately through them on the floor with out even testing them? what the hell was the point!!!
His demeanor and lack of professionalism was awful!!!
I brought my dog in to check for fleas (which I couldn’t find) because he cumpulsively scratches him self a lot and has a scab in his ear, the vet just said «he’s allergic to something, I don’t know what, but give him some benadryl so you both get some sleep»… Seriously… He also picked my pets scab off and made him cry!!! Then he said «just dip his ear in warm water and remove it your self, then put neonsporin», OKAY? why did you just pick at my pet’s ear then and hurt him?! (no regard for my self or my pet)
Second, I wanted to know if my pet had a U.T.I because he licks him self all the time and he peas a lot. The Vet then carelessly walked away and then came back a few minutes later with a wee wee pad and said «I don’t think your dog will go on command, it’s a waste of time»… WTF??? Is this dumb certified vet doing here!!!
I left with no good medical suggestions, answers to my questions, and a real examination for my dog and just plainly felt cheated on a fake exam that wasn’t worth any benefit for my pet or my self!
THIS PLACE WAS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!!
After the women in the front desk just plainly asked me it’ll be $ 30, I just gave her my credit card and left as soon as possible… UGH…
DON’T GO HERE THE 50 YEAR LOOKING VET HAS SOME MEDICAL ISSUES HE NEEDS TO ADDRESS FOR HIM SELF!

Dr. Robinson really loves animals and he is so caring with my chihuahuas. He is absolutely not about $$ only. Once I rushed in with Jacob because he ate a long piece of string and the Dr. saw us right away and gave us some great advice. He didn’t charge me for the visit and I think most vets would have. Laura is always friendly and shows real concern and interest for the dogs and cats that come in.

i like this place. they are great with my cat & the prices are very fair. the girl at the desk, laura, is very nice & friendly & helpful. the dr is not really people friendly, but he is awesome with the pets. the business he went in for. i would recommend to all in brooklyn & i will continue to use thier sevices.

I was recommended to this clinic by my cat sitter. Even though it was a bit out of my way as I live in Midwood and there are closer vets to me, I preferred going to one that was used by her. I was advised to go in the afternoon on a Saturday when they open again as she says it’s pretty busy in the mornings. I was lucky because after we finished, there were 2 people in the waiting room so I came at a good time it seems.
The place itself is small but clean. The vet, Mr Robinson, was very thorough and gentle with my cat and he gave great advice. I will be going back!
