If you don’t mind paying prices that are two to four times as much as competing locksmith’s this is your place. These guys charged my wife $ 225+tax to install a new cylinder. I called four other locksmiths to confirm what I knew was a rip-​off. Other locksmiths in Brooklyn quoted $ 55 – 115 to swap out a cylinder plus the cost of the cylinder. The cylinder these guys installed costs $ 40 from Amazon. When I called the next day upset that they had taken advantage of the situation they hung up on me. It’s shameful when businesses take advantage of folks who aren’t familiar with what normal prices are for a simple job that took half an hour to complete. I should also mention that they showed up 2 hours late for the job.
UPDATE: They called me back and attempted to make things right which I appreciate so I updated my review to reflect this.

I contacted Brooklyn Lock & Security this morning at 10:30am, had a call back within 30 minutes and Christopher came to replace my lock by 2:15pm. He was knowledgeable, courteous and extremely good at what he does. He replaced my lock, made sure my door locked properly before he left and made sure I could get the door locked and reopened without an issue. I would highly recommend him if you have a need for a really really good locksmith.

I got locked out of my apartment late one night after the knob spun completely off. Chris promised to show up within 30 minutes when I called and ended up coming in 15 minutes. He was extremely professional, honest and fair with pricing. Most importantly the job was done fast and efficiently without leaving a mess and I haven’t had a problem with the door since the fix. I highly recommend this locksmith for any jobs that require attention.

I can’t recommend Chris highly enough. I hired him to install two locks. He immediately noticed that a locksmith I used last year (M&D) had done a poor job on an installation that left me vulnerable to a potential break-​in. He fixed their mistake free of charge. Not only did he arrive quickly, get the job done fast and efficiently but it was also a pleasure to have him in my home. He made me feel comfortable and safe which is truly rare with any kind of male contractor. He’s the only locksmith I’ll ever use in this city.

Chris is the best. I am going through a stressful move and thought the lock to my new kitchen was broken. It wasn’t. I had used the wrong key. *womp* Chris was a total sweetheart about it and tried to convince me that I wasn’t a complete idiot. The lock was loose so he fixed it, and his trip wasn’t in vain. He was quick, and professional, and it felt like I was hanging out with a friend when we did the billing! That’s pretty impressive. Lol Hire them!

Chris is a real pro! We just had a no-​forced-​entry burglary yesterday and needed the locks replaced immediately, no idea who has copies of the keys for our rental apartment. He arrived very quickly after being totally upfront about charges and options over the phone, and even had us send him a photo of our lock setup so that he could bring up the right item the first time. Quick and complete installation, but he took real care with a wood chisel to get the fit just right for security and smooth action, and walked us through the mechanics of our new lock.
He was funny, open, courteous, and like I said a REAL pro. We’ll be recommending him to our friends and neighbors!

Great experience – and quick problem-​solving
Christopher was able to fix and replace the lock on my back door, despite the process presenting a lot more problems than initially thought (everything in my house was installed wrong, including the locks). He handled all the surprise problems calmly and was quick to solve them. He was also very good-​natured about having to crawl through a tiny window to access the lock.
I’m always nervous about finding a locksmith – that’s a big deal in this town. Christopher was everything you want in a locksmith: professional, kind, experienced, and extremely trustworthy. I absolutely recommend his service!

I managed to lock myself out in epic fashion. Basically, the slam on the door locked and there were two different jams in the door. Robert, was very professional and explained the process and all associated pricing for his work. He tried multiple routes in order to get me back into my apartment efficiently. On top it all, he was very patient and kind with a very tricky lockout. The pricing was fair in my opinion. Will definitely use them again!

I am the proud owner of a new door, and wanted to change the locks on that door. I had a lot of ideas about what kinds of locks I should get. I called Brooklyn Lock & Security and Chris was able to come over to do the work right away – even though I was expecting to schedule a time because my issue was not urgent. He then very kindly explained thoroughly why a less expensive option would be far more secure than the set-​up I was envisioning, installed the new locks quickly, and walked me through exactly what I needed to do to make sure I wouldn’t have to replace things completely if I ever lost my keys. He also fixed a busted latch on the door, and was overall pleasant, knowledgable, and truly seemed to have my best interests as a door-​owner at heart.

My 89 year old grandmother with alzheimers locked herself out of her house a few blocks from mine. Thank god she was able to find her way to my house since she left her cell phone inside. As soon as she arrived I thought to call here because a friend mentioned what a good experience he previously had. Chris came right over and made sure my grandma was able to get back in to her house. Awesome service! Had some tenants move out so we had to change the locks to our front and back doors. Chris asked us to send him a picture of our locks/​doors and gave us a quote shortly afterwards. Prices are very fair and he did not nickel and dime us with anything extra. He came right on time and finished the job very quickly. Very reliable and honest. Great service!!! I had a jammed deadbolt. I called Chris, he came by promptly despite the weather (snow, ice), took him 10 minutes to take apart the lock and pop open the door. Firm price, the other service I called started scamming on site, but when I called Chris it was one price estimate and the same price after the door was open. Great job and outstanding service! I highly recommend these guys they are honest and perform their services exceptionally.
