At Green Gem Health, we help clients make underlining changes in diet and identify the supplements that best support their body’s individual constitution. By correcting the underlying causes of infertility, hypothyroidism, weight gain, adrenal fatigue and more, we enable clients to achieve permanent and vibrant wellness. We specialize in helping couples conceive healthy babies, both naturally and through IVF. We also help clients lose weight; support their thyroid and adrenal health and improve digestion and energy levels and boost metabolic function. We assist clients in dissolving gallstones and kidney stones. We also help women to manage fibroids and PCOS, to eliminate the signs and symptoms of PMS, and to normalize the female cycle and dissolve ovarian cysts. We offer anti-​aging and general wellness protocols. We assist with autoimmune disorders. We use muscle testing to carefully assess each client’s unique needs.

History

Established in 2009.

Green Gem was founded to provide NYC residents with affordable health and fertility care that resolves the underlying causes of physical ailments, rather than just palliates symptoms, and empowers clients to achieve lasting whole-​body health. The founder, Rebecca Curtis, was a literature professor at Columbia University in 2007 when she contracted Lyme Disease and had to undergo one year of intravenous antibiotics and work with integrative doctors to recover. The experience inspired her to deeply research the factors that precipitate illness, and the habits, diets, and natural supplements that restore balance and wellness. After helping some ‘infertile’ friends to conceive and bear healthy babies, and helping colleagues to dissolve ovarian cysts, by putting them on individualized dietary plans and bespoke supplement protocols, she realized she loved being a nutritionist. She obtained her degree as a Holistic Nutritionist at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and SUNY Purchase.

Meet the Business Owner

Rebecca J.

Business Owner

Rebecca Curtis obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Pomona College, a Masters in Literature from New York University, a Masters of Fine Arts from Syracuse University, and a degree as a Holistic Nutritionist from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and SUNY Purchase. She teaches graduate classes in the Writing Program at Columbia University and offers topical health seminars at the Park Slope Food Coop. She has written articles about health, wellness, herbal sleep remedies and adrenal health for Harper’s Magazine. As a nutritionist, she works in partnership with New York City’s best acupuncturists, chiropractors and integrative medical doctors. Her hobbies include hiking, reading, baking gluten-​free desserts, and jogging in Prospect Park.
