I visited there yesterday & it was a pleasant experience. The staff was kind & the Ophthalmologist that I saw Dr Freeley was great! His personality was wonderful. I felt comfortable & they made sure I was fine before I left. My wife recommend him to me because her experience was just as good as mine. If you need an Ophthalmologist Dr Freeley is definitely the man to see. A +

This is the last time I am here! Waiting over 2 hours to see Dr. Wierzba! And it’s always the same story here! I think they are not double booking, there are 4 patients sitting near me and they all had a 1pm appointment with the same doctor!

This place has the worse staff, always over book. The wait time exceeds any other medical office I been to. The staff isn’t organized at all! Took them weeks to see if my insurance can cover an MRI, then they kept switching my appointment.
My second trip here is just as shitty, the receptionist asked me when I made my appointment as if she didn’t see it in the computer, then ignores me. So in just left standing there with a question mark in the air. No communication skills unless you speak polish, hands down the worst medical center ever.

Give me a doctors office that you don’t have to wait in? I have gone to many clinics before and the wait is the same!
I have been coming here since I was a baby Dr. Trigo was my first doctor and then I switched to Dr. Gliwa.
As I have work in a medical office before patient tend to me a little dramatic due to the fact that they maybe sick. Who likes going to a doctor? No one! This causes overreaction and hence the nasty negative Unilocal reviews.
If you are giving poor reviews based on time wait then that’s not accurate.
The staff is very friend– but sometimes they have there off days. Who doesn’t?
If there is a long wait I ask the nurses when they do my exam and I do some light shopping in the area — time flys by a lot faster.
Both my parents go here and I couldn’t be happier– I have recommended this office to many people and have not received any negative feed back from them.
It’s sad that the only reviews that make it on medical office are the negative ones because we only write about them when we are angry.
This place has almost all the specialties that one may need. It’s been in the neighborhood for as long as I can remember and I’m glad!

Called them to set up an appointment with their dermatologist… They said they took my insurance… Went there… Waited 40 minutes in the lobby for them to tell me they don’t take my insurance and the doctor can’t see me… Huge waste of time… 1 star.

I came in and the 2 receptionists there who aren’t busy pay no attention to people who are waiting and they act so full of themselves and just not great service.

This place is utterly disorganized. The administrative side is rude and doesn’t take responsibility for basic tasks like leaving a message for a doctor. I had to call TEN times before my primary doctor received my request for simple blood work. The two doctors I’ve seen have been similarly uninterested in treating me as an individual patient. We’re all just little cogs in the machine.

I’ve been going to Manhattan Medical for about 4 years. No complaints. Dr. Grabowski and Dr Trigo are great. I went to a urologist there last year and she was superb. Sure there are maybe 2 crabby employees there, but that’s about it and you’d find that almost anywhere. There’s no one there who’s that awful that I wouldn’t return.

Worse staff I have ever come in contact with. Receptionist that are rude as they are incompetent. I made an appointment a MONTH before, (since they were so booked) for a serious matter, I called to confirm ahead of time and I was «no where in the system» and there was «nothing they could do to help me» except try and give me another appointment the next month, no sorry, no compassion just rude. Not worth the headache.

All the doctors are the best :) better wait for a good doctor then go to doctor that is not busy and not popular and don’t know what will happen you know

Arrive early and didn’t see anyone for over an hour (just vitals) then had to wait another two hours to see an actual doctor! When asked what I needed to do they would only roll their eyes and say «you’re next.» If you have any other choice, take it. Unless you have a book you want to finish in a waiting room.

Came for my appointment and was ignore for 1,5 hours letting people in front of me go. Never apologized, I left without seing a doctor.

Dr. Donn does not deviate from her set course, no matter what you, as the patient, think, need, want or understand. Forget about having your questions answered or pointed in the direction of resources who can help, her line of response when asked for advice, whether it be a prenatal vitamin, what to eat as a pregnant vegetarian, or to be navigated through bloodwork and screening tests is either «I don’t know» or «Just do this». She is a doctor who is not at all patient-​centric, it’s all about her convenience with a total lack of regard for your wellbeing. The office doesn’t do bloodwork on site, so if you are sick, tired, nauseous, or heaven forbid, work full-​time, that doesn’t matter because you will most certainly pointed in the direction of facilities that are no less than 30 minutes away and don’t worry, her favorite hospital is only two hours on the train from her office. Glad I waited that forty minutes for three minutes of curt, out-​of-​date advice.

I should update this to say that I wouldn’t bother with any other doctor here except for Dr. Grabowski.
The worst was one that scheduled an appointment on a day the office wasn’t even open and when I returned for the second appointment he left me waiting for over 3 hours before I gave up and left. Or maybe the gynecologist who signed me up for the wrong exam. As you can imagine, that was unnecessarily invasive. When I saw her in her queens office, she said she knew nothing about it because her notes were in Brooklyn. I’ve seen a few others – not worth it.

This review is for Dr Douglas Freeley, the opthalmologist.
Beware if you have anything less than top-​tier health insurance. I have silver level health republic, so I thought I should be good to go after the co-​pay. NOT AT ALL. I received a bill five months later for $ 250 dollars. I am really upset that I was given so many tests (I didn’t even know they were «tests», I thought they were just examining my eyes) with absolutely NO warning that my insurance may charge me for them. I mean, when you get a blood test, you know you may get an extra bill, but when people are just holding things up to your eyes, how do you know that? I am especially pissed off, because he essentially said well, your eye just hurts– nothing looks wrong with it. So, I paid $ 300 with co-​pay to be told eyeballs just hurt sometimes.
Aside from the bill, the visit was fine, though waits are indeed long. I waited in the front room for about 20 minutes past my appointment, then they called me in to pay, and sent me to a second waiting room. From there, a nurse called me back several times to a mini exam room where she did various things, then finally Dr Freeley called me in to his full exam room. All together, my appointment was at 1:45, I arrived at 1:40, and I saw the doctor at around 3:15.
I didn’t find the staff to be rude. The front desk staff were actually very nice to me. The nurse who checked my eyes wasn’t friendly by any stretch, but she wasn’t rude.
Dr Freeley was great. He had a really nice bedside manner, answered all my questions about my eye, and seemed genuinely interested in our small talk. I did not feel rushed at all. I liked him very much and he seemed capable.
I guess I’m mad at our healthcare system more than this office. But I still think it’s unacceptable that they give you no realistic expectations about billing. My advice– Don’t let the nurse shuffle you through all the automatic stuff at the beginning. Demand to see the doctor first to find out which ones are necessary, because you will be charged for them.

This is NOT an urgent care clinic. If you need urgent care, go to the Beth Israel walk-​in clinic on North 7^th between Bedford and Berry.
(I walked in yesterday when I was having an extreme allergic reaction: my eyes were swollen shut and I told the staff my airway was closing. They suggested I wait an hour for the doctor to arrive. When I asked them where the closest urgent care clinic was, they didn’t know. A patient in the waiting room kindly pointed me to the Beth Israel clinic, where I was put in a room immediately and given epinephrine, before being sent by ambulance to the ER. Slowness I can handle in a doctors office, I get why that happens, but the be clueless about what to do in an emergency?!)

I’ve been going to Manhattan Medical for at least 2 years now…
Good doctors are overshadowed by an incompetent, rude staff.
Dr. Grabowski has been my primary care physician. He is friendly and knowledgeable. He is attentive to your concerns, thorough, and calls back when you leave a message.
Dr. Don who I saw for 2 gynecological check-​ups was a nightmare. Intrusive, abrupt, narotic. Whie giving me an exam, she lectured me on my weight, told me I’d have trouble having children, and I’d get diabetes.
Does not know how to talk to people.
Dr. Gliwa has been knowledgeable and addresses concerns, but doesn’t return phone calls for days.
THE STAFF THERE IS COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT.
I’ve asked for my medical records, because I’d like to get a 2^nd opinion regarding a medical matter and I was told approximately 2 weeks and .75 cents a page.
I told them I needed the records within a week as I have scheduled an appointment to get a second opinion on an important health issue. No one has told me when the records will be ready, they have a horrible attitude, tell me «we aren’t legally obligated to provide your records in a week», and a week later I have no idea when I will be able to pick up a copy of my own medical records.
Called the «office manager» Barbara 3x in the last week. Zero is the number of times she has returned my call (assuming she has received the messages.) Very unprofessional.
Due to the incompetence of the staff, their attitudes, and the fact that they really don’t care what they tell you… I went to pick up a requisition form to do blood work. I asked for the doctor to review it because I was certain a test was missing from the form… the nurse says it’s fine. I called back and demanded someone show the doctor the form. Of course it was wrong and I had to go back a 2^nd time to pick up the correct test form.
I will not go back although the doctors are good.
Horrible.
Convenient hours if you’re in an emergency or need to see a doctor after work or on a Saturday. Other than an emergency, stay away!!!
Also consistently an hour or 90 minute wait time as they overbook appointments.

First I have to address some of the bad comments below…
First off there is a huge wait because this is the only decent medical office for miles. Therefore everyone goes here. In addition, this office has a huge selection of different types of doctors, hence even more people are going to come to this office. Now for all those people complaining about the long waits to just see the doctor, ever think that about the patients ahead of you? Maybe a patient just got news that he/​she has cancer and has a few extra questions to ask or maybe future parents were told that their baby is not developing correctly in the womb. Maybe we should start thinking about others, especially in a doctors office, and not just about ourselves?
For the one lady that said she should have found a «nicer» looking office in Manhattan. Are you serious?! Clearly you haven’t been living in Greenpoint for long because Manhattan Medical has made a complete 180 transformation. The office is beautiful! Also to the same lady, this is a medical office, not an emergency room…
I love this place. No complaints. Have gone here my entire life. You just need to be patient and have a heart.

Tried to give 2 of the doctors here a chance, several times. They, specifically Donn and Grabowski, are the worst. Specifically Donn is 5 times worst than Dr. G however they’re both not attentive to your concerns, Donn gives you an attitude if you ask A question, they dont give you the time of day, push you out the door, then screw your billing so you sit on the line with your insurance to fix their clerical errors which you then need to finish straightening out with their billing who at the end of the day stop threatening to begin collections when they haven’t even alerted you

This afternoon I cut the tip of my right thumb ALMOST ALL THE WAY OFF when I accidentally smashed a coffee mug against my kitchen faucet. I wrapped it up and went to MM to ask if they could treat me, since I live a block away. If they didn’t have a surgeon I was going to call 911.
They reacted quickly and said they did have a plastic surgeon on staff — the Dr. Lerch I’ve seen so poorly reviewed on here. Well — not only did he do a expert job stitching up my thumb, but he was professional and friendly and also pretty funny too. THANK YOU Manhattan Medical for saving me a lot of blood!
