For some odd reason I really like this outlet of Marshall’s. The staff is cordial the manager is nice and they have a good range of everything. Their formal clothes for a ladies are pretty cool and their prices are also amazing.

I’m not surprised this store has such a low rating!

This store at all hours seemed to have the longest lines, but that’s not even my problem.
I came in for a specific item. I spent about 30 minutes scoping out some black boots that I needed, once I got them I probably waited 45 minutes in line just to purchase 1 pair of boots. At the time I purchased them, I was a bit skeptical because they weren’t really my size but I was going to see if they stretched at all so I could walk in them comfortably. After two days of trying them on I decided it wasn’t going to work so I wanted to just return them.
I had noooo idea it was going to be a problem at all, but sadly I was given the hardest time.
First of all I purchased a black male boot. During the transaction, the cashier decided the barcode was not good and called an associate from the men’s department to grab a barcode for it. I didn’t question anything at the moment, but that turned out to be a nightmare for me.
I go in to make my return and once again waited 30 minutes just to get to a cashier! Once I get there I tell them the shoe doesn’t fit. I paid cash for the shoe and they say I can’t return it for cash. I can only get store credit. I’m like hold up I have the receipt in my hand I need the cash that I paid back. So I had to ask the manager to confirm I paid cash I bought these boots blah blah blah. Well that barcode issue came to bite me in the butt. Apparently the girl switched out the men’s barcode for a women’s barcode.
So the manager comes over and cry disrespectfully disregarded anything I said. I told him that I purchased the boots and that I wanted to return them. He tells me «your receipt says you bought a woman’s boot and you’re returning a men’s boot. We aren’t giving you any cash back!» I even told him to look at the cameras from the day I bought them and he basically said get out of my store we aren’t returning the boot. So before I lost my head I just left and reported them to Customer Service. The store owner called me and asked what my situation. I told them what had happened and after he gathered all the information he told me to come in on a certain day to make the return. So about a week after I originally tried to return the boot I was able to.
I was just over the whole situation I had to make so many extra trips, unnecessary trips to make a return when it could have been lived the first time. I do appreciate the manager that allowed me to return the boot, but it should have never gotten to that point. AND I should have never been disrespected the way I was when I initially went in for the return.
UNACCEPTABLE!

Horrible attitude. My pregnant wife was tired shopping and having stomach cramps merely sat on a chair to rest and a male shop assistant with a horrendous attitude told her she’s not allowed to sit on the chair and to get off the chair because it’s was a chair on display. First of all how do you expect a customer to not sit on a display chair to test it out before even buying it? And second of all you’re telling a pregnant customer who’s in pain to get off a chair??? Are you even in the right state of mind? What is wrong with the management who trains such inhumane staff? I wish I know the name of this male store assistant who is good for nothing. Karma will get u. I will make sure of it.

This is one of the worst stores I have been to. The staff is usually rude, the store is always messy and the lines are literally out the door to pay for items.
Why do I need to stand in the same line to return as the paying line? That makes no sense? No other Marshalls I have been to does this

The people here are kinda rude. Not all but there are a few with spiked poles up their asses. But i come here for candles really. Cant say too much about their clothes, There the average marshalls experience there. But they have a few nice home décor items. And an Ok selection of candles

I do like coming to this Marshalls. The Store is always clear, always organized, walking around this Marshall I am thinking organized. This particular time I was looking for men’s ties and maybe a dress shirt, but I really wanted a new tie. There tie section was very limited, I did like the prices, they just did not have the items that I wanted this time.
Just by walking around the store after my tie disappointment, I was thinking that I remember this Marshalls having a better selection of goods. It was also not the easiest to find items that I was curious about. I ended up not buying anything, because I just did not see anything that I wanted but I will be back, maybe then they will be at least a tie that I like if nothing else.

The pictures in this listing must be old. The store did look like this in the past, but I believe that the staff have learned their lesson. Store seems neater now but the customer services is very low class. You can NEVER find anyone in the aisles to help you with anything. I definitely will keep doing all of my shopping here. Cant beat the prices.

It is absolutely horrendous. Merchandise is strewn all over the floor. Kids are all over the floor as well. Can’t blame the staff for the pig sty because it’s the unruly patrons who are oinking through the store and leaving the mess behind as they trot their way in and out this decent location.
If you have some spare time, take a waltz, you might find something stain-​free and in one piece.

EXTREMELY RUDE EMPLOYEES — BEYOND THE PALE.
I understand that you get what you pay for in stores like Marshall’s, and that’s fine. The store may be a bit disorganized, you can’t rely on employees to know exactly where things are, etc. However, the bargain experience shouldn’t include being talked to like a child. Both times I’ve shopped at this location, employees have – wholly unprovoked – spoken to me in such rude and insulting tones that I left feeling disgusted and incensed. Honestly. I wanted to give the store a second chance, hoping my first bad experience was a one-​off anomaly, but no. Shop at this Marshall’s if you don’t mind being treated as if you’re sub-​human.

This is my go-​to spot for converses and jeans.
The prices are low (so is the inventory), but when I do find something I like, it’s usually a great buy. The staff seems to be just «there» and don’t really help unless harassed… shrug, I usually go here with a particular item in mind anyway so I could care less.
The fitting room attendants are a lot more helpful and accommodating to your constant request for a different size.
Cash and Credit

Love/​hate. I really like their home selections and always seem to find a dress by a good designer for a reasonable price, but the line can sometimes make you question the meaning of life and after 2 hours of the store being open it looks like a tornado ran through it. To prevent this negative reaction and general hatred, I’ve limited myself to visiting on Sunday morning right when they open– no line, well maintained aisles and employees that are still happy to help. After this point, it’s every man, woman and child for self and it needs to be avoided from my standpoint.

«Meh. I’ve experienced better.» pretty much sums it up. You know when you go into a Marshalls /​TJ Maxx /​Burlington situation that it’s going to be crowded and messy with a miles-​long line, and this location is no different. I go here because it’s so conveniently located, but I much prefer the Chelsea location.
I won’t comment on the deals or selection as they are handed down from the corporate level and have nothing to do with the day-​to-​day operation of this particular store, which some folks on here seem to have forgotten.

I love Marshall’s as much as the next person but I can honestly say that I’ve never seen such a mess of a store, with the exception of the Burlington Coat Factory that’s directly above this Marshall’s.
I decided to torture myself by shopping here not one time, but 4 times! I guess I’m just a glutton for punishment.
The best way to describe this store in one word is, CHAOS! It literally looks like a tornado tore through this store. There is always merchandise all over the place, on the floors, on top of racks, just as the pictures show. I’ve never seen customers disrespect merchandise the way they do at this location, it’s absolutely appalling! I swear the employees have just given up on trying to clean this place up.
To rub salt into the wound, the check out lines are so absurdly long that 3 out of the 4 trips I’ve made here have ended in me leaving the line because I couldn’t wait any longer.
My advice is to avoid this Marshall’s location at all costs! If you must go then plan to spend at least 30 minutes in line to checkout!
Edit: I forgot to mention that if you do shop here then watch the prices. I saw a North Face fleece that I liked. The tag on it was for $ 279.99 but I know that this fleece isn’t even $ 249.99 at a non discounted store! I pointed it out to an employee and they adjusted the price to $ 79.99, I couldn’t believe it.

I generally LOVE Marshalls since I love a good deal. Who wouldn’t?
The pictures posted on here are extreme. There have been times where it’s not THAT bad. It just depends on the time and day that you come in. But the staff do try to keep it in order. It’s the consumers that mess it all up.
Anyway, when you do come in, just prepare you for the MASSIVE LONG LINE.
Give yourself at least 30 minutes to stand in line if you come on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Monday — Thursday depends on what time you come in.
Marshalls is a hit or miss, but I love the hunt. LOL.

I’ve been to this location a few times, but I’ve always walked away empty-​handed because of their long lines. I desperately needed a new black handbag, so I searched and found the perfect one for work. Since it was the only one in black and given my need, I braved the line. I waited 20 minutes before I made it to the register and paid a whopping $ 55. I was processed pretty quickly, but would still recommend more manned registers.
If it wasn’t half off the original price tag of $ 108 and I hadn’t already fallen in love with it, I would have definitely abandoned the bag. It’s mind boggling to know that the store has 10 registers, only half were manned despite the fact that this location has heavy foot traffic. Next time (if there is one), I’ll stick to window shopping.

Is this place a mess? Yes. Is there always a ridiculous line? Yes. Is the staff often rude? Yes. It is usually a crowded madhouse? Yes.
But I still go. I know what I’m in for and only go when I have time and patience. I love finding great deals on quality clothing.

Oh so crappy, but the Atlantic Mall is pretty crappy to begin with. Here are your options for clothing: house brands from Target (that barely stay in stock); Old Navy in the basement (with long lines); Burlington Coat Factory (which I wouldn’t count on having anything specific); and Pay/​Half for super cheap off-​brand stuff. And then there’s Marshalls, which pretty much brings the worst of all places together. There’s barely anything available (for men’s), and if you find something good that’s not in your size, don’t bet on them having another one. Prices aren’t as good as they used to be. The lines are super long as well on weekends. I will say that the staff is very friendly (both on the floor and in the fitting rooms). But other than that, not worth going to.

As a lifelong NY’er with Ft. Greene as my second home for over 15 years, I remember the days of yore when Atlantic Center first opened and Marshalls was a fresh face on the scene. Oh how I marveled at getting good clothes on the cheap as my prior experience with the shop, out in Long Island, was on point. Much to my dismay, this Marshalls was not up to snuff. I left in a funk. That was in 1997.
Fast-​forward to 2010. After that experience in years past, I was scarred. But I figured, let me pop my head into Marshalls because, quite frankly, you just never know what you could find. Well, reviewer Konstantin V’s pictures (they’ll be very obvious) sums up my 1.15 minutes that I spent there on my last sojourn. What a mess. It even feels grimy before you enter, like I feel like I’m walking into a Kentucky coalmine.
Yeah, i won’t be returning ever again.

Eeeek! This place is the pits. Besides being incredibly disorganized, and all around cruddy, they also have the audacity to have 1 – 2 people working the registers when there are a gazillion number of people in line.
Just dang senseless!

Before you even read my review, please take a minute to look at the photos that myself and others have posted of this Marshalls location.
The condition that this store is in is outrageous and completely unacceptable. It’s clear that the management of this location needs to be completely replaced because the staff makes no effort to maintain or clean the store.
Earlier this month I was in the Atlantic Mall in the morning, doing some quick grocery shopping at Pathmark, and decided to try to avoid the typical massive line in Marshalls by getting there as they opened.
Rather than have a peaceful shopping experience, I was shocked to see that the store was in worse shape than ever. Piles of clothing all over the floors, clothing falling off the racks, heaps of clothes tossed haphazardly across racks. Rolling racks blocking the aisles.
Not only had the staff not cleaned up the store the night before, but had made no effort to clean it before opening again! Who wants to shop in such a disgusting environment? I don’t care how discounted it is. The discounts should not be a compromise for cleanliness or professionalism.
Despite there being a lot of visible staff members in the store, the cash registers are also grossly undermanned, resulting in snaking lines that would keep you from making any kind of casual purchase. I’d much rather pay full price for an item than waste half an hour on line because I happened to find a snappy polo shirt in between all the clothing that is being treated like TRASH!
There is nothing charming or kitschy about the filthy condition of this store or the staff’s obvious disregard for customers’ shopping experience.
I’ve written to the Marshall corporate office about this location, because it is an embarrassment and as customers we deserve better.
I encourage you to do the same.
