After reading multiple positive reviews, I was very excited to check this place out to buy a couch.
Don’t waste your time. Not only is this place going out of business, a small piece of information they neglect to tell you on their website, the overall shopping experience is so bad it it hard to believe.
First, upon entering the store there were two men facebooking women with provocative pictures talking about how fat their butts were and how they would «serve» them. To make matters worse the screen was 100% visible to the public. After about 5 minutes of listening to their misogynistic comments one of them finally decided to acknowledge they had a customer. Without looking up he said, «If you got any questions just ask.»
The other annoyance is that I did some research on-​line and the website indicated that the couches I liked were at the Brooklyn location. Little did I know they are going out of business and the couches I liked weren’t there. Upon inquiry I was told, «oh yeah, the website hasn’t been touched in forever.» No apology, nothing.
I feel cheated out of the $ 4.50 it cost me in public transportation to get there and back.

I had a great experience at Park Home. I came in, told James what I needed (just a twin mattress) and how much I could spend, and he showed me what they had in my range and didn’t try to sell me anything I didn’t need. What a totally straight up guy (and cute too!). I was totally going to go to Sleepy’s and get a bunch of things I didn’t need and spend more than I budgeted, but then I came on Unilocal and found this place. Thank the gods! I got curbside delivery and the dudes called me once like an hour before, then again when they were like around the corner, and then again when they were outside. The dropped it at my door and I dragged it up the half flight to my room. No prob.
I need a dresser and a few other things so I suspect I’ll be back there in the near future. I really recommend this place.

I was not really impressed with this place. In search of a dresser and dining table, I traveled about 40 minutes from Nostrand and Fulton back in December just to see it, based on all of the good reviews. First and foremost, I found that the selection was very limited. And for the prices, the furniture was generally not of the best quality, with the exception of a gorgeous high, solid-​wood drafting desk and chair set. Unfortunately, no one on the staff bothered to say hello or even acknowledge me during the 20 minutes that I was in the store, so I left without determining the price.
All in all, I was not impressed with this place. I ended up finding a slew of furniture stores on Flatbush Avenue, east of Nostrand Avenue that offer better quality, selection and prices. I ended up buying a dresser and several other solid wood pieces there.

The website has so many good-​looking sofas, but when we got to the showroom, most of them were nowhere to be found. However, we were able to settle on a reasonably priced ($ 420) tan sofa and a chair. We were told by a friendly staff member that both pieces could be delivered in a week for just $ 50. So far, so good. I fork over my debit card, sign on the dotted line, and walk out with a smile.
On Monday, I get a phone call telling me that there has been a «mistake», and the chair is out of stock and won’t be back for over a month. Super annoying! We need a chair before then, so I tell them to please cancel it. Then I am informed that I will need to come back to the store in order to get my refund, because I’ve already been charged. I tell them that unfortunately, the store is 45 minutes away from me by subway, and it’s tough for me to get time to make the trip. I ask nicely if they could please just put the money back on my card, but they say there’s no way. They assure both me and my roommate that the delivery guys will bring us a check when they drop off the sofa. Without much other choice, I agree.
The sofa showed up on Sunday, and I do have to say that they were on time and did a good job with assembly. However, when I asked the delivery guys about my refund check, they (of course) had no idea what i was talking about. I show them my receipt and point out that there is a missing chair.
They end up calling the office, who had to mail me a check. At this point, I’m pretty sketched out… I have never heard of a retailer offering a personal check like this, and the whole «check’s in the mail» thing isn’t exactly the ideal way to go. I wouldn’t expect them to accept a personal check from me, so I didn’t appreciate basically being forced to accept (and wait on) one from them.
The check finally arrived four days later (I’ll let you know if it bounces). No note of apology for the inconvenience, no discount on sofa delivery, nothing.
My couch is nice and I was happy with the price, but it’s definitely not worth the hassle.

They definitely have a large selection online and great prices, but I want to clarify before anyone else makes the same mistake that I did. Their main location in Brooklyn does not have a large selection.
After seeing all the awesome reviews and the great prices on their website, we went out to BK (and, I don’t do boroughs) to furniture shop a bit. Unfortunately, none of the things that caught our eye on the website could be found in the showroom.
I will say, the sales people are so incredibly friendly and so willing to help, but unfortunately I wish I would have known that friendliness was all I was going to walk away with, before I took the hour long subway trip.
I would advise you look on their website first, then call them to see if they have whatever caught your eye. Otherwise you may end up wasting an afternoon.

Park Home Furnishings is fantastic! I looked all over the internet and NYC for a good, affordable couch. Not only did they have the best prices I could find, their service is stellar.
I went into the store on Grand, sat down with James, and we talked about what I was looking for. He took his time with me, and was fully knowledgeable about all the furniture they offer. They happened to have the couch I really wanted right there in the show room, in a different color; as soon as I tried it out and said it was my dream couch, James did everything he could to make it happen for me.
There was some question about whether it would fit through my front door — I have these weird hinges, and a narrow door frame — and we communicated several times after my visit about how we (they) could resolve the issue. I was resigned to getting a different couch, but James was determined to help me get my dream couch. The other couch was more expensive, too, so it wasn’t about the money — that was really impressive to me.
Even with the very reasonable $ 50 delivery charge (it varies depending on where you live), it was still much cheaper than the same couch offered by other places. And the guys who delivered it — and had to carry it up 4 flights when it didn’t fit in my dinky elevator (for a nominal extra charge of $ 11), *and* dealt with taking my door off the hinges — were awesome as well. They set up my couch, and put together the kitchen table and chairs I’d decided to order too (also at a great price), were so polite and respectful, and cleaned up after themselves. It was everything you want from such an experience!
I went to several furniture stores where I wouldn’t have wanted anyone from those places to even know where I live. Not so with Park Home Furnishings. I felt completely safe with such professionals.
Every time I look at my couch, I smile. It’s so comfortable, beautiful, and exactly what I wanted, and it makes it even better that acquiring it was such a positive experience. I recommed them wholeheartedly.

Accommodating:
I called them on Thursday and asked for a sofa to be delivered as soon as they could. Because I work 11+ hours on weekdays, I asked for a weekend delivery. The coming Saturday (2 days away) was booked; I wouldn’t be home for the one after that (9 days away) because that’s Christmas weekend; so the earliest they could do was the one after that (16 days away).
Half a month seems really far. That wouldn’t work, I said. I asked if they could somehow squeeze me in for nearest Saturday (the one they said was booked). The sales rep told me to hold for a moment, had a talk with his supervisor, and came back telling me that I would be the first stop for the coming Saturday. I was going to get a sofa delivered in 2 days after all.
In contrast, the sales staff from other vendors weren’t as accommodating. For instance, one of them told me that if I wanted to order a sofa for delivery to my house, I needed to visit in person to their store (in another Borough) and order it from the physical store location for 2-​day delivery (otherwise, online ordering would take 2 – 3 weeks). I don’t understand why they aren’t flexible; it’s as if they don’t even want my business. So it all works out that I picked PHF.

In terms of picking a sofa, I picked the SU-​252 Sofa-​bed (Sunset Vegas Rainbow Black), which was $ 385. That’s an amazing price. Similar products, in terms of width, aesthetics, and built, from other furniture stores, were at least 3 times as expensive. And, PHF’s SU-​252 is comfortable, folds easily into a bed, comes with extra storage in the bottom and two extra fluffy pillows. It was delivered on time, exactly within the 2-​hour span that PHF sales had promised me, on that Saturday.
In short:
I highly recommend anyone in the NYC area who is looking to furnish their homes with quality non-​expensive furniture to go to Park Home Furnishings.

I had a very limited time to move into my new apartment. I was traveling with work the week before, and only had three days off to arrange the move, get new furniture and get settled. Wandering around the city to check out furniture was not an option. I am one of those obsessive people who likes to tackle a whole project at once. I went on Unilocal to find the best buy to purchase furniture and the ratings for Park Home Furnishings were phenomenal. The prices were reasonable, but I did not have time to go to the store to check out the furniture. I spent under 30 minutes on the phone with Dennis at the Brooklyn store, told him my situation and what I was looking for, and he was able to coordinate everything. He emailed me the contract, and we worked out the details.
The only snaffoo, which was my lack of knowledge about NYC apartments was that the furniture that I bought might have not fit into my doorway to the apartment. And even Dennis thought about this. Right after we got off the phone, he called me back and asked me how old my apartment was — he explained that the doorways to older apartments were narrow and to double check with my super. A quick call to my super and I had my measurements. Thank god for Dennis’ diligence. We quickly adjusted my order and everything was perfect.
As for the delivery guys, simply superb. They called me as they were near my apartment, moved all the furniture up my six floor walk up, and were so friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. They even took all the trash with them after they left. It was a really pleasant experience.
If I ever have to buy furniture again, I will go to Park Home Furnishings. They were amazing.

This is a great spot to check out if you’re looking to furnish an apartment, and you’re sick of the IKEA and Jennifer Convertibles options, but aren’t quite in the Crate & Barrel/​Pottery Barn/​Stickley price range.
We happened to be couch shopping, and they have a surprisingly large selection of all sorts of options. Don’t sleep on the downstairs floor, either. When they open the door and tell you to head down there with an evil grin on their faces, it may seem like they are trying to murder you, but they aren’t. If they were, it wouldn’t be so blazing hot.* They just have a whole lot more stuff they couldn’t fit in the primary showroom.
Unfortunately, we wanted a sectional of some kind, and all the ones that appealed to us were just a tad too large for the room we have. They do have a lot of cataloged options as well, but you can’t buy a couch without sitting on it. I don’t know how my ass feels in that picture, sir.
And if you hurry, they might still have this sweet soccer chair that I absolutely would have bought if my girlfriend also appreciated tasteful things:

I’m typing this sitting on my brand new red sofa from this place. So easy and hassle-​free. Went there, tried out a bunch of sofas with their kind advice and support (I wanted a cheaper sofa but they said that one would just fall apart within a couple years since it was foam instead of springs) — and I liked that honesty even if I ended up spending another $ 100. Purchase and delivery scheduling were very easy.
They e-​mailed me to confirm delivery ($ 25 in Upper East Side), and again to let me know that they were one hour away, and again when they were at the building. I had asked them to do that so I wouldn’t miss them, and they were all too happy to oblige.
I would buy from them again if I needed more furniture and wanted an alternative to IKEA. I’m thrilled with their excellent customer service.

I very nearly bought a poor quality mattress and frame with $ 89.99 delivery fee: s from Sleepys, but had the sense to go home and Unilocal the cause before committing.
For less than the total Sleepys price, I got a beauuutiful mattress with proper inlay and coil spring technology, and while my postcode just missed out on the free delivery, I only had to pay $ 25, which meant more money to spend on my actual mattress.
These guys were friendly, helpful and didn’t pressure me at all while I was looking. They also left me to my own devices to try out a whole bunch of beds before coming over, which I really appreciated. Nothing says awkward like someone else watching you lie on a bed and saying «how does that feel?»…
Most recommended if you want to keep the household shopping stress free!

My friend was moving to Brooklyn and needed to furnish her 2-​bed apartment, so we decided to check this place out. It was a smart choice. This was hands-​down the most pleasant furniture shopping experience I’ve ever had.
What makes Park Home Furnishings special?
1) The showroom. Beautiful, clean and well organized. On the small side, but still a wide variety of furniture for every room in the house. If you want more variety, there’s also a catalog showing all the furniture in their warehouse.
2) Prices. Rock-​bottom. Most of the couches are under $ 500. Not to mention FREE DELIVERY. My friend purchased a sofa, coffee table, end table, TV stand, dresser and night table — all for under $ 1500. (Keep in mind this is high-​quality, solid wood, NOT particle-​board crap.)
3) Service. Extremely professional. The whole staff was incredibly helpful, but James truly distinguished himself. He actually came over to my friend’s apartment to take measurements, made sure the couch would fit through the door, and helped us pick out furniture that would match the apartment’s color scheme. Unbelievable!
If you are looking for furniture in Manhattan, Brooklyn, or Queens, this is a great place to start. It’s perfect for anyone who wants furniture that’s a solid step up from IKEA, but without breaking the bank at the higher-​end stores in Manhattan.

This place is, honestly, incredible.
We moved to Brooklyn from DC and decided to ditch our couch to make the move easier. After getting semi-​settled here, we went to IKEA (I know) to find something cheap but attractive and new, since previously all our couches were hand-​me-​downs and craig’s list specials.
IKEA was pretty much a bust, designs were meh, delivery was almost as much as the couch, and we knew that there would be 409 820 other young couples with the same exact couch, boring.
After searching the internet for other options, I found PHF and boy were we thrilled. The selection was great, prices were wonderful and the delivery was FREE (my kind of price range).
After weeks of back and forth, and continued chat with the very friendly and helpful staff, we finally picked out a couch in our price range and aesthetic. It was ordered and delivered in less than 5 days AND they brought it up to the apartment, assembled and cleaned up after themselves.
This is truly how you run a business. Great staff, affordable prices and excellent quality items. We plan on coming back for any of our furniture needs, and you should definitely check them out if you’re in the market.

Park Home Furnishings is where each piece of furniture in my apartment came from and I’d like to tell you why.
I was moving to Brooklyn from Jersey and was in need of furniture. I think Ashley Furniture has some decent stuff so I went to their showroom in North Brunswick, NJ. While shopping, I found out there was a promotion that took a certain percentage off the entire order. However, when the pricing was all said and done, it ended being slightly over budget.
So I did the logical thing, I turned to Unilocal.Park Home Furnishings was the first listing to come up.
Upon entering their showroom, it was clear they had great taste in their selection. Grace (one of the great employees there) had priced out some pieces that caught my eye but yet again, they were just out of my price range. I tried to bring it down, but she guaranteed me that the prices were absolutely rock bottom and were made to be haggle free. She asked to price out the furniture I liked from Ashley to prove her point. Once she ran the numbers, her figures were much much lower than the actual showroom price plus discount. I couldn’t believe it.
Well, 3 weeks later when I was ready to move in, I ended up buying the following pieces of furniture:
Dinette set (Table and 4 Chairs)
Lamp
Large and comfy sectional that looks great
Living room rug
Coffee table
Awesome tv stand with awesome shelving and an outlet built in
HUGE mirror
Queen size mattress with box spring and the metal piece underneath
Now, I got all of this for the same amount it would cost me to just get a queen size bed and sectional from Ashley. I can’t tell you how great it was to be able to furnish my whole place for that number. And have it look damn good.
I should also mention that both Grace and James at PHF did great work collaborating with my interior designer (aka best friend). The delivery only cost $ 50 to my place and they were on time, quick, and professional.
If you are looking for furniture in NYC, Brooklyn, or Queens, I couldn’t recommend a better place to start your search with.

We moved to NY with no furniture except for our mattress and left Park Home Furnishings with everything we needed well within our budget. The staff was extremely friendly and the prices and quality really blow Ikea out of the water! We got a queen-​size black faux leather pull-​out couch, a faux leather chair with an ottoman, a dining table, 4 dining chairs, an entertainment center, and a large dresser, all of which we absolutely love. Forget Ikea and visit Park Home Furnishings!

I was on the hunt for an inexpensive non-​Ikea dining table and Unilocal led me to this place. I scanned the website and saw some nice looking pieces and nice prices. I went by the store hoping to see the tables in person — but I should have called first. Since their place is so small, they mostly have beds, couches and a few coffee tables.
I decided to order the table anyway and hope for the best, but they told me the warehouse they order from is closed on the weekends, which is kind of silly since that’s when most people shop. But I called on Monday to order and after I was given an estimate for the purchase price and $ 25 delivery charge (since I live outside the «free area») I was told to go to the website, download the order form, fill out what I wanted include the price I was quoted and credit card information and fax or email it back. As I was doing this all I kept thinking was «so this is how people’s identities get stolen.»
But I needn’t have worried. I received a call from Grace two days later to set up a delivery time. The delivery guys brought the table and chairs up, put the table together, arranged it, cleaned up all the packing materials, had me sign the receipt and were off to leave me to enjoy my gorgeous new table.
I’m quite pleased with the quality of the wood. I bought an expandable table, and the hinges to «lock» the table are sturdy steel.
Other than the not-​so-​streamlined ordering process — I am quite pleased with the help received in the store and on the phone as well as with the products themselves.

Oh my gosh, I love this place. Seriously.
I’m usually an ikea/​craigslist/​used furniture kinda gal for my furniture, but since that went south (the last time I got furniture was a used bedframe that turned out to be missing some crucial parts and, after the first few weeks, was prone to randomly collapsing), I just said screw it, I’ll actually buy something new.
I looked for a LONG time trying to find the ideal store. I don’t have a car anymore, and a lot of furniture stores around here advertise free delivery but then reveal in the fine print that it’s only to curbside or something like that. But this place does in-​home delivery AND set-​up, and can be free depending on where you live. It was free for me, but it seemed like their fees were relatively low for folks outside of that range.
The showroom is pretty small, but there’s a darn good selection crammed into what space they have, and they have catalogs/​binders with full-​page pictures of items that aren’t in the showroom. I think they have a really nice range of stuff – there’s a lot of high-​end, really expensive furniture, but plenty of cheaper items too and everything I saw, regardless of price, was solid wood and looked really sturdy and high-​quality. I highly suggest going in and asking to look at the print catalogs, as their website (while quite nice) can be annoying to navigate simply because of the way it’s laid out + the sheer number of items available. We got a very nice wood platform bedframe & headboard for about $ 300 including setup and delivery; ain’t nothing to sniff at, if you ask me.
The staff are AMAZING – helpful but not pushy (ex. They showed me accessories they had for my bedframe but there was no ‘…so are you gonna buy those too?’), and incredibly well-​informed; they knew the prices, sizes, availability, colors, and styles of everything right off the bat. I literally listed off my preferences (color, size, platform, price range) and they were immediately able to pull out the listings from their catalogs of the several items that met all of those. They are really polite and easygoing, too.
The piece I decided on wasn’t in stock, and we came in on a Saturday (with Monday being a holiday) and got the bedframe by Tuesday, which is still pretty good. They even called us the day before with a delivery time (in my limited experience, I was expecting them to call the day of and then I’d have to scramble to make sure I could be there). And they provided us with plenty of updates in order to give an accurate, specific delivery timeline. My only complaint is that they gave us an original delivery time of 11 – 1, but ended up not delivering until around 4 because there was a part that hadn’t made it onto the truck. They did call and let us know they were going to be late, though.
The free delivery AND setup would have been a major selling point in and of itself, but to get that on top of a great selection and great customer service means I will absolutely be back here next time I need furniture. Hell, I’m already plotting out what I’ll use to replace the rest of my crappy bedroom furniture when I get the money, heh.

Swung by yesterday to pick up a couch set for my new place, and while I wasn’t blown away by the selection, they had a well thought out, diverse choice of couches to choose from, ranging from sectionals to sofa beds to sofa/​love sets with colors and materials spanning a similar range.
I bought an Ashley brand sofa/​love seat set which was marked at $ 755. They claim that their margins are razor thin and are therefore unable haggle, so I trusted them and bought it, knowing that when I went home I would check the prices online to compare. Lo and behold, every single place online I checked had the sofa or love seat separate, and together they cost about $ 100 more than I bought it for, so I was feeling great!
The service was great and they were super attentive and answered all my searing questions (I like to grill people about their products before I purchase, especially a big purchase. Don’t worry I stop asking if I don’t think I’m going to buy the item!)
Unfortunately, their «Free Delivery» guarantee only applies to certain areas, as they have three «Rings» of delivery levels. Closest ring is free, next ring (Lower Manhattan up to about mid-40’s, not sure about extention into Brooklyn/​Queens) is $ 25, and little ol’ me on the UES paid $ 50. Oh well! They agreed to ship my parts separately, since they are available at separate times, for the same price (which was extremely nice of them).

Revisit? Hopefully don’t anticipate needing another couch soon, but would recommend everyone stop in!

What a great furniture store! I just moved to NYC and was in need of a sofa bed and chairs for my table. Unfortunately I bought some furniture pieces from Ikea and wish I found Park Home Furnishings first.
The customer service is great — Grace was really patient with me and gave me helpful information to help make my decision. No pressure and great prices at quality pieces. They have a nice and very clean showroom, plus a lot to offer in their catalogs which she sat down and went through with me. They offer many types of furniture and in different styles, so I’m sure they will find what you need.
I needed the sofa bed asap because I was having guests come the week after. Some on-​line furniture places I found said it would take 2 weeks to order the sofa bed. I’m so glad I found PHF on Unilocal!I came in on a Thursday and they said the sofa bed and two chairs would be delivered to me on Tuesday. Delivery and set-​up was $ 25 total! Other furniture places offer «free delivery» but only curbside and one place quoted me $ 65 cash to be paid directly to the movers to bring up to my apt and set-​up (sketchy!). PHF gave me a two hour window of delivery and called me half an hour before they were to arrive. The movers were really nice guys and I love how this is a family business.
I’ll definitely use PHF everytime I buy furniture now. It was such a nice experience buying furniture from them!

I have been sofa hunting for many, many weeks and was up against a tight timeline to find something before guests arrived this coming weekend. If only I had discovered Park Home Furnishings earlier…
I whiled away many days trying to find Ikea stores that had the loveseat I liked in stock (none did). I found a sofa bed I liked at Straight from the Crate, but their ubiquitously low-​rated reviews and delivery nightmare anecdotes made me think twice. Then I found Park Home Furnishings.
They had the same model as Straight from the Crate, but for $ 100 less and a much lower delivery rate to Brooklyn locations. And they had a number of other great options in my price range and preferred style (as well as other price ranges and styles).
I bought a sofa bed yesterday and asked if it could be delivered in the next couple of days. They called and delivered this morning, quickly and professionally assembling the sofa.
I wish I could give them more stars than five. Their customer service totally blew me away. I will be going here for all my future furniture needs.
