I’ve been going here for two years about once a month and really enjoy it. The ladies that work there are courteous and thorough. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly.
This isn’t about a high end spa experience but rather a nice place to get your nails done. The prices are similar to most of bay ridge.

I’ve been here a few times for a manicure and twice, my manicure chipped within 24 hours. I realize manis don’t typically last a long time but come on. I’m a little annoyed because the last manicure I got was for a wedding and I had to go with bright orange chipped polish. The staff is nice but that just isn’t enough. I’m paying for my nails to look good and as a nail salon, they need to be able to deliver that service. There are plenty of nail salons in NYC. I think next time I’ll take a walk around the corner and go somewhere else.

This salon is the worse and certainly the owner Elaine tries to scam you for money. everytime I go in there my bill is higher and I question her. Use your CC she charges $ 5! Extra! SHE USES A RAZOR AND CHARGES $ 6. Which is prohibited in NYS. I certainly will report her as her business mannerism to the clients are poor as well. STAY AWAY!!!

I usually don’t write reviews but here it goes. Had a good facial, however on my way out I was demanded to give a tip. I had a $ 50 gift certificate and the facial was $ 45, therefore it was included. Still the owner acted like I was stilling nor paying for a service.

My favorite nail salon! Clean, perfect manicures & pedicures that last SUPER long. I’ve showed them pictures of different nail art & they’ve always made my nails look identical to the picture. The prices are fair for the quality of service. I always come here before special occasions because I know they do flawless work. Definitely recommend this place!

I used to go to this salon for sometime. And the service was one day good the other not so good. But last time I came I have waited for 45 min even though I had an app. They would take ppl who would come after me. I am never going back to this salon.

I have been going here for a short time, but I have been more or less dissatisified from the outset (just too lazy to pursue another shop). On the whole the staff are satisfactory (although the turnover of personel is constant), but the owners, a husband and wife, are rude, greedy and incompetent. For a gel manicure, they reuse the aluminum foil from one customer to the next, which I’m sure is against Board of Health rules. The pedicure sinks are not clean at all and the rest of the shop is seedy, and appears unsanitary. I observed a customer use her credit card and she was not informed ahead of time that a $ 2.00 fee would be added. There are many nail salons in Bay Ridge, so I strongly suggest patronizing one of those.

I live close to this nail salon. Of the choices in the area, this is my favorite. The owner is pushy with additional services, but I don’t fault her for upselling. The best things about the salon is it is clean, the women are not overly gossipy, and i don’t have to wait 2 hours inhaling fumes before they do my nails. Some of the nail technicians are better than others. if you find the one you like, just ask for them.

Not bad manicures and pedicures last a while the only thing is sometimes its too busy better to go during the week

Got a mani and pedi here once, and felt like the «technician» could have done a better job. My nails looked nice but they were not what I was expecting for the money I spent.

I have become a loyal customer of Swan Beauty. After years of flitting between Nail salons in Manhattan & Brooklyn, I now exclusively have my manicure/​pedicures done here. The staff is led by the owner Elaine and they are all highly skilled and kind. Most of the time I am in a huge hurry when I drop in there, and they always manage to get me in out as quickly as possible with a gorgeous pedicure and a perfect gel manicure. I feel so lucky that I live just a couple of blocks away. I love this place.

I relocated from Bay Ridge to Miami Beach a couple months ago. One of the places I knew I’d miss the most is Swan.
My first time was the week they opened (around October 2011) and I was happy from the start. The owner Elaine is professional, and really expresses a desire to provide that part of South Brooklyn with great services. I was so happy to find her as I didn’t always feel like hitting my Park Slope spot. I was treated wonderfully from day 1. Beautiful and clean space, good food in the hood and Elaine’s prices are AMAZING.
Now-​I love waxing. Loooove a good wax. So between manipediwaxin, I was there once a week.
Seriously-​you want a smooth and clean area down in the gorgeous part below? Go to Elaine. She’s THE best and around April/​May when I left Brooklyn (sob), she was training a couple of the folks to follow in her expert footsteps.
I was so spoiled by the great care and service at Swan, it was a while before I found spots in my Miami Beach hoods that I dug!
I’ll always go to Swan when I’m home visiting. Hop on the R and def give it a try! Ask for Elaine-she’s great!

I came a little late but they stayed open for me and worked very efficiently on my nails. I got false tips as well and they made sure I was comfortable with the process. Atmosphere and environment was great, very clean and helpful staff; I had two people working on my hands. A lot of people seem to do waxing here and I’ll definitely be back to try that out.
I’m completely sold by the nail art I got tonight! I’m excited to see what they can do for me in the future!

Passed by here a few times. As other said, the place is neat and tidy. Since I needed a haircut, thought I would give it a try. Went in and was greeted by the owner. Went straight to the barber and asked the guy for a simple fauxhawk. Fair enough, the barber is quiet (which I like). He definitely spent a while cutting my hair with detail. Could have been a little quicker but I wasn’t really in a rush. Gave me exactly what I wanted and I was off on my way. Price wasn’t bad either. I’ll probably come back to this place to get a haircut again.

Was kinda suspicious after reading the reviews but this place is OFF. THE. HOOK.
It’s definitely a popular neighborhood spot for the college-​aged and housewives of Bay Ridge. The owners/​employees are on a first name basis with all of the customers and rightfully so because after your first time, you’ll be a regular.
Let me break it down for you; It’s the same products used in all of those ultra popular salons in the city (Valley… Marie’s… Sakura) but for an incredibly reasonable price. I asked for a reverse french calgel manicure and showed my top notch manicurist photos off my iphone for reference and she killed it. They look exponentially better than the $$$ NINETY DOLLAR $$$ (Ridiculous… I know…) manicure I got at a salon that I won’t name in Manhattan.
I’d like to keep this unassuming, hidden gem all to myself but Southern Brooklyn gals need to get learned on how to get slamming nails on the cheap.

So I live close to this place and have been there a few times. It is very clean and nicely decorated. Yet, I was completely turned off by the owner’s pushiness. She is like a hawk watching you get your nails done and asks multiple times if you want extra services (eyebrow, pedicure). Personally I think it is annoying when I specifically ask for one service and I am asked multiple times if I want an additional one. Also — there are usually only 2 – 3 nail techs available who are untrained and literally hurt my nails when filing them. When I said «OUCH» the girl didn’t respond. That is not friendly service. All in all, I would not go back.

Best hair wash and scalp massage. Awesome hair blow out for someone with long hair and too lazy to do it.
Mani/​pedi are attentive thorough and pleasant. Waxing patient and painless.
Price is right.

Don’t be fooled by the lovely décor. The nail technicians are not well trained. In fact the only skilled nail technician is the owner, she’s prompt & skilled. It’s a shame you can’t find good help these days because this salon is clean & conveniently located.
