The Mobile Vintage Shop

I’m so happy to have found that this wonderful shop is getting play on Unilocal.I discovered this shop while tipsy waiting to get into some day party at Roberta’s a few years back. As I waited for my someone in my party to assist me in bypassing the stupid long line, perused the trailer and ended up purchasing a paisley printed shin length skirt that I will never stop wearing-​EVER. The owner is super welcoming and not just because you’d need to be when asking people to enter a trailer on the street somewhere in Brooklyn. Keep on keepin’ on girl-​I appreciate you!

As a child I was warned by assorted authority figures not to go into vans with strangers for fear of kidnapping. I can report that visiting The Mobile Vintage Shop is an entirely safe experience.
And with all items under $ 10, it’s a financially safe place too.
Only recently have I entered the sordid underworld of seeking out vintage clothing. Perhaps it’s my late blooming latent hipster tendencies that are cultivated with each brunch I have in the burgeoning Bushwick restaurant scene. Maybe the bourgeois bohemian lifestyle seeped into my system after time spent in Bellevile and Oberkampf in Paris.
Or perhaps I simply needed a bowtie for the Jazz Age Lawn Party and no other vintage shop amongst all the nearby vintage shops had any article of clothing (for men) that could pass as being from that era. (Whereas the overabundance of 70’s and 80’s vintage is a boon for anyone celebrating that era’s irrational fashion exuberance).
So it was clearly the bee’s knees finding a selection of several bowties for the reasonable price of $ 5 a pop. There were pants that would have been at home at a Great Neck estate party but alas, my modern 21^st century eating was too much for the pair.
Shoes, pants, bowties, suspenders, all the accoutrements of the past were present in this mobile shop. It’s a small space so the claustrophobic set take heed.
Otherwise, enter this van with strangers and make it your safe vintage place.

nice idea for a vintage shop! I found some very good deals inside (like a red coat for 10 $) and everything is 10 $ and in good conditions :) The owner was also very nice and pleasant even if there was a snow storm outside!

A really cute idea for a fun shop.
We stumbled upon this fun place the other night in Bushwick. I love that the hours are kind of late and that nothing is over $ 10, so you have no excuse not to spend your money!
They have a good selection, considering that this is in a tiny trailer. I was able to find things in my size and selected a great sweater dress with fun zippers. There are boots and even handbags. The space is divided left and right, mens and womens clothing. I bet it could get claustrophobic in there with more than 5 people, but we came at the right time.
Definitely stop in if you can! I followed them on IG, so I was hip to them, but didn’t know they’d be in Bushwick.

Curiosity got the best of me. I’ve seen this mysterious U-​Haul around. Finally checked it out. I couldn’t find anything I wanted, but I like the whole concept. That’s why it gets four stars. Bravo.

I love this shop!!! I’ve made some amazing finds here for $ 10 and I am very picky with my vintage. Almost everything is in amazing condition if not perfect. Worth a look if you’re in bushwick It’s honestly one of the best and most affordable shops in ALL of NEW YORK. I dig the owner she’s super hip and knows whats up.

Pretty Good Concept… a trailer basically selling vintage clothing and accessories. Went to check it out out of curiosity and basically everything was $ 10 unless marked $ 5. It’s pretty small and cramped in there so if you’re fat or obese, this place is NOT for you. The girl that works there or maybe she’s the owner? is friendly and don’t stare at you or give you a dirty look if you’re just browsing and not buying anything. There were a decent amount of selected vintage clothing for both men and women. I just wish they were in a larger trailer with some good European-​pop or rock playing in the background to give it a bit of a Bohemian-​hipster vibe. But seriously not bad to just browse around after some Java nearby at Swallow Café.

I almost never review clothing stores because when I do shop, I generally stick to thrift shops and the like. But I had to spread the word about this place. They hang out outside Roberta’s after 7ish, just a little trailer full of vintage goods. Everything is $ 10!!! I always find at least one thing I love, and the woman who runs the operation is awesome and friendly. It’s rare these days to still find affordable vintage, especially in this area, so this place really stands out.

wandered in here out of curiosity after attending the heritage radio fundraiser at Roberta’s. lovely curated collection of clothes, bags, accessories and shoes in a tiny trailer space. i walked out with a snakeskin clutch with a gold chain strap for just $ 10! everything here is $ 10, which is unbelievable. have been to my fair share of vintage shops where the same clutch would set me back $ 40-​$ 50. i really regret not purchasing the beige evan picone skirt i had been eyeing =[

Before I moved to NYC, I was here last May. C, and I tried to go to Roberta’s which is right across the street twice and I had often wondered what this small abondonned U-​haul truck was. Now that I spend more time around the area, I’ve been doin me some esplorin’.
I left Swallow café one night after a 6 hour coffee bender and was en route to a dinner party and The Mobile Vintage Shop was on the way so I decided to peer in to see what was going on.
I stepped into thrift narnia, I had no idea it was even a thrift store. Upon my first visit I got a sweet leather cross body bag that was. Wait for it… 10 Bucks. In fact, everything at TMVS is 10 bucks. Color me impressed, everything here is fantastic. I recently picked up magnifiicent black leather cowboy boots and I’m totally stoked and love TMVS.
The gal working the shop, who may be the owner is stunning and I love every bit of this little operation.

This store wins hands down the award for originality in my book. A vintage clothing store in a trailer hitched to a U-​Haul van? Bushwick does indeed contain all manner of hipness, even things not yet thought of.
What’s more I would not have even spotted this interesting sight, were I not attended by a shopping machine — aka a female friend who enjoys perusing stores for prehensile accoutrements.
The place contains one side for mens, and other for womens, mostly sweaters, blouses and shirts from what I could tell. All items were $ 10, plus various accessories as well.
Apparently were I not in attendance, my friend would not have made it out of there without buying at least one or two things. Who knew chicks could be so into shopping?

I was really on the fence about reviewing this place because this is my new favorite/​secret, but it is way too good to keep it a secret. The Mobile Vintage Shop might (emphasize might!) be better than Beacon’s Closet. It is a small trailer parked on Moore Street and Bogart Street in Brooklyn. I was on my way to my cousin’s apartment and a ray of light came from this trailer that said «Vintage» «$ 10 sale». SOLD! Two little steps lead me into a golden treasure. literally! From necklaces to leather jackets to records! One rack was women’s clothing, the opposite rack was men’s clothing. I was late for Thanksgiving dinner, so I only had seconds to scope out the items and jet. From the second I entered, these vintage, leather, Bandolino, made in Italy, white boots caught my eye (go figure my shoe size!). As Cinderella, the shoe fit! Instantly I paid, thanked the owner, and was already planning my next visit. I love this place!!!
