History

Established in 1978.

RDS began testing uranium miners for the exposure to radon back in the early 60’s and 70’s. We worked directly with the EPA on the first white paper for residential radon mitigation installation procedures. We began offering residential radon testing to the relocation industry and to homeowners throughout Colorado. IBM was our first relocation client here in Colorado. Our office was located in Boulder for over 30 years. We later moved to our current location in Broomfield. We have grown to provide other environmental testing services for asbestos, mold and other indoor air quality hazards.

Business Owner

Tammy began with RDS in 1988 working in the accounting department. She was able to advance within the company becoming office manager, and later assistant to the VP and President. She held many titles and has worked in pretty much every position within the company over the past 26 years. She worked alongside both previous owners Loren (Les) Smith and Les’ son Tim Smith, her mentor. In 2005 Tammy was given the opportunity to run the company as Tim wanted to explore his interest in oil exploration. She took the challenge and later in 2006 was able to purchase the company along with her husband Mark who heads the radon mitigation department. Tammy continues the vision and mission of the previous owners, by providing the highest level of products along with personalized genuine customer service. Each and every employee is a member of her family and the company continues to grow and protect homes and businesses throughout Colorado.
