Boardwalk Barbecue

Boardwalk Barbecue is one of the many fast food restaurants within Knott’s Berry Farm, and it’s pretty good. My family and I visit this restaurant every time we come to the park because it has excellent food choices. Also of great importance is that this restaurant is one of only six restaurant options that participate in the Knott’s Berry Farm 2015 season dining pass program. Here’s a quick summary of my rating for this restaurant:

Food quality at this location has always been excellent, taking into consideration that this is a fast food establishment within an amusement park. I remember getting fast food at amusement parks when I was a kid, and quality has greatly improved over the years. This location has lots of great options, but I usually end up getting a burger or hot dog and French fries here. My kids love the pizza.
Service has ranged at this location over our visits, between a 2-​star and a 5-​star rating, and there is obviously a correlation with the time of day. Slow-​business times usually mean that you will get faster and friendlier service, and I have occasionally been served by some really friendly and efficient employees. During a typical lunchtime or dinner time, the line here will be exceedingly long and the staff occasionally gets a bit frazzled by this, and has on occasion relayed this attitude to their customers. The management here could mitigate longer lines and overworked employees by simply increasing the staff at key times throughout the day.
Cleanliness is average, and could certainly be improved. Generally it’s not too bad, but the management could definitely do a better job of providing the appropriate staff to regularly clean the seating tables and surrounding area.
The seating is really bad at this location, with a minimal number of tables available. During lunchtime or dinner time you’ll be really lucky if you find a table. If you’re smart, you’ll assign someone in your party to continuously monitor the tables for availability while someone else is waiting in line for the food. It would be nice if more tables were added for this business, because the limitations here are frustrating.
In summary, the Boardwalk Barbecue is a great place to eat a good meal between rides at Knott’s Berry Farm. If you’ve purchased the 2015 Season Pass Dining option this is one of the six dining options that is very good and is available to you.
