went to dr. gorden today. i cant say enough about how great my experience was. i needed glasses at within a week and they took me right away.dr. godon is so profesional and made me feel very comfortable right away. a very nice man, but his office general manager is a really great guy. he is unbelievable. he helped me and my fiancé pick out frames for my new specs and set my baby up with new lenses for her old frames. this man had us laughing and just made us feel great the whole time we were there. set me up so i would have my glasses within 2 days. i loved this place.
by the time we left my bill was $ 120 bifocal glasses/​frames for me,$ 50 new lenses her $ 170 total my last glasses cost $ 370 at wallmart lol and it took a month to get my glasses there.

Dr. Gordon is a very kind and intelligent man, but this is not somewhere I want my eyes checked.
My eyes are no more terrible than your average person who wears glasses/​contacts. Had to show up for multiple follow up appts and the prescription is still off. His office never remembered me and never followed up on any of the visits to see if the new trial prescriptions were working. On top of that, after my initial appointment, I was pressured to buy glasses from them even though they clearly only sold women’s frames. Will not return.

Dr. Gordon is one of the best eye Doctor’s around. He determined that I had the wrong prescription & ever since his diagnosis my headaches have stopped. He has a wonderful staff that is extremely efficient & friendly. I would hoghly recommend.

I wrote the above negative review of Dr Gordon 8 months ago. This past week I went to a new eye doctor and was very apprehensive because I have such a difficult prescription for contact lenses. If u read my previous review u will note that I waited MONTHS for my custom fitted, soft toric contact lenses. Well I am now writing here to tell u that my new doctor fitted me with monthly DISPOSABLE contacts in less than one hour! For those of u who have an astigmatism and are difficult to fit and don’t believe this is possible, I am living proof. I have never seen so clearly & had such superb customer service. My previous lenses were $ 350 for one pair & I didn’t have a backup. My new monthly disposables are $ 70 for a six month supply. Have I made my point?

I was looking in Unilocal for a new optometrist in town and saw that Dr. Gordon got very good reviews. After my visit with him, I saw why he got such good ratings.
Dr. Gordon was very thorough with the eye exam. He didn’t rush any parts of it because he wants to make sure he gives you the correct prescription. He was very patient with me. Sometimes
I wasn’t sure with my answers during the exam (sometimes seeing the letters through similar lenses look the same for me). He told me that it was okay and that I should take my time. He was very supportive, telling me that I was doing a good job.
His staff is also very friendly. Victor was very helpful in helping me with my insurance.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Gordon for 6 years and won’t trust my eyes to anyone else. I’m a very challenging patient and he has always treated me with the utmost respect and patience. After multiple eye doctors, he’s the one who finally identified the source of my chronic headaches and eye strain. He helped me recover from LASIK without a hitch and his recommendation for a LASIK surgeon (Dr. Davidorf) is the one I took and was thrilled with. True, you’re going to wait to see him even if you made an appointment, so you need to allow an extra 30 mins or so, but I wholeheartedly feel it’s worth it because the reason for the wait is that he gives every patient the time and personal attention they need. The front desk staff are also amazing and treat their patients like old friends. The entire staff here will bend over backwards to help their patients and that’s priceless!

I’m not going to age myself & say how long I’ve been wearing glasses & contacts… but I have to say, I was a bit disappointed to find that I may not have had the best prescriptions recommended to me throughout my life. I’ve suffered from consistent headaches every day, and at this age, I figured it was just a regular thing…
I came to visit Dr. Gordon after finding him on my insurance list of preferred doctors, but I chose him based on his Unilocal ratings… And he looks like a friendly guy in his picture.
Thank goodness my inter-​netition was right! Dr. Gordon took a lot of time to ask questions about my daily activities and my experiences with headaches. Dr. Gordon had formulated his hypothesis of what was going on, I’m sure from all that optical knowledge, and he was on the money!
Anyway, long great story short, I’m wearing these contact lenses with an updated prescription for a week now. I haven’t had any headaches and I don’t need my nose to my computer screen. I realized by day 3 that I can actually sit back in my office chair and see my screen perfectly! Who knew how important the right prescriptions were so important! Guess you wouldn’t if you’ve been living in the wrong ones for sooooooo LONG!
I also brought my 9year old son. He’s been having some difficulty focusing in glass & reading. Dr. Gordon strongly believes it’s his eyes & so far Dr. Gordon is credible in my view, so I can’t wait for my son’s glasses to come in so we can test his theory!
HIGHLY Recommend visiting Dr. Gordon.

My sons first time visit here. The doc is patient with teens he knew how to make my son comfortable before his exam. Really nice guy. The exam is going smoothly and thorough.

I’ve been wearing glasses since third grade, so I’ve seen many eye doctors over the years. When I needed to find a new doctor, my sister suggested Dr. Gordon. So glad I took her advice. It’s a calm, well-​run office and Dr. Gordon is both a clinician and an artisan. I have several visual «issues,» and could tell that he really likes to solve problems. My new glasses are so great, I am now wondering if my previous doctor was just winging it.

The Service: When I called to schedule an appointment, the receptionist, Karen, was very friendly on the phone. I was very lucky to get a same day appointment!
When I arrived at the office, she greeted with nice smile and asked me to fill out the patient forms. Once I was completed, she took me to the room and started the basic examination. She was very professional and efficient. Within a few minutes, the exam was done!
When Dr. Gordon was ready for me, my first impression… he was very polite and humble. He is very patience and does a very detail examination. He has great education background and years of experience. His business has been voted for best business for years.
Also, the bonus of my visit… Dr. Gordon has great sense of humor! It was definitely a very pleasant visit. I will highly recommended his service to anyone.
BTW, Dr. Gordon is also the Mayor of Burbank. He has the big heart to serve either for his patients or the residence in Burbank. He has done a great job running his practice and taking care our community as well.
The Parking: Street parking (2 hours free)

Dr. Gordon is an excellent eye doctor. He has a lot of patience and helped me with my challenging eye situation. I recommend him over any other eye doctor in Los Angeles. He helped find the right contact lenses and prescription strength when everyone else had given up. I can’t say enough good things about his expertise and care.

Even though I did not have health insurance at the time that my corrective vision prescription expired, Dr. Gordon was willing to help me in my time of need about a year ago. Ever since then, I have been ordering contact lenses through this eye doctor and never paying more than the best online price. I don’t even have to pay for shipping! Bonus!
They also have a great selection of frames from top vanity brands such as Oakley and Ray-​bans. I recently purchased some sexy Oakley frames with standard lenses. They told me that they would be ready in 7 – 10 business days but they were available only 4 days later!
A few weeks later, I decided that I wanted a different color as well as a different type of lens. They were happy to oblige and actually order 2 sizes of the same color. I came in to choose the perfect fit and they only charged me the difference of the price of the two different type of lenses; glass lenses vs. thinner lighter material lenses. I only had to pay $ 90 (which would be covered if I had insurance). Still worth the money! I love my new specs the people working in the office are friendly and easy to talk to! Double thumbs up!

I don’t know how else to put this because I really don’t want to offer a review that’s less than positive, but it’s a reflection of my experience. Simply put: this operation is a mess.
Sadly, Dr. Gordon’s staff is not the service provider I had hoped they’d be. I just don’t think that most of them care, they just don’t get it, and they seem to take business and their work for granted…
First impressions: disorderly office, dirty appearance as well. Staff was unprepared even though I had an appointment. The optometrist is friendly, and seemed professional enough. He spent a good amount of time with me and I’m sure he means well. However, when he suggesting cosmetic surgery for minor puffiness under my eyes, it raised red flags. I have minor puffiness under my eyes, it’s genetic and let’s face it it’s just a part of being human. The sales pitch about how his colleague who can help me with «this issue» was off putting. I was handed literature and told «it’ll take 10 years off» my appearance. So instead of already looking 25, I guess I’m suppose to look 15.
Last impression: sadly, nothing has improved and front of the house customer care and service is lazy at best. I ordered contacts in April, the order was delayed by 2+ months until they arrived — and they arrived wrong and no one called to update me. I had to pursue my purchase for 2+ months. 2 pairs of emergency contacts were given, the 2^nd pair weren’t the right prescriptions! Nice work there staff.
My experience has been that no one will call you if there is an issue with an order, and don’t expect service to start at 9am as advertised. Most of the staff, sans one new woman, appear to operate under a «come as you please» work ethic.
Even though they can be friendly they’re unfortunately unprofessional. I’m hoping this will turn around and improve.

Like a few of the other reviews, I have been waiting 3 weeks for my contacts. I’ve had to call and have been told they were being delivered later in the day. I called 3 times on Friday with the reassurance I’d get a call back before closing 5:30, alas, no call back, no contacts. I will not be going back!
Dr. Gordon’s is good but staff is very unorganized, I have given them to many chances, no more!!!

It with great displeasure that I have to write this negative review. This review is completely reflected on the office and his staff. I first went to Dr. Gordon in 2010. We had recently moved to Burbank from out of state and he was recommended to me. I found Dr Gordon to be friendly and informative and takes the time with his patients.
Unfortunately, his office is completely disorganized! The exam room is a complete mess with papers and boxes stacked everywhere! I have continued to go back to his office for the past 3 years because I like him as a Dr but I can no longer visit the office due to the staff and the overall disorganization. We have had several incidents now of ordering glasses and/​or contacts and waiting over 3 weeks for them to be ready when I was told they would be there in 1 week. Every time I have had to call the office and inquire about the glasses or contacts and either I was told they still were not in or was put on hold and then the person would come back on and say oh yes they just came in. I have never been called by the office to let me know when something I ordered has come in. I have always had to call them first and that is just not good customer service. This is happened more than once.
I spoke to Dr. Gordon about this issue and he proceeded to explain he had someone retire recently and he was trying to find a new staff member etc. He then gave me his business card and personal cell number to call him directly with any problems. I find it very sad that a Dr has to give out his own personal info because he staff is so bad. It has been over a year and the same issues are still going on.
I had another incident 3 weeks ago with my daughter and her contacts. I called the office explained the situation the girl said she would look into it and call me back. Well 24 hours went by and no phone call! I text Dr. Gordon and he calls me immediately and he said he would find out what’s going on and get back to me. He did get back to me within a few hours and we made an appointment to go in and see him to try different lenses for my daughter. It has now been 3 weeks and we are still waiting for the trial lenses to come in. Of course he told us the lenses would be in within a week. We called the office and she said they were back ordered and would be in later this week. This is just not acceptable to me. Now I have waited 3 weeks and my daughter still does not have the trial lenses and we need to order another supply of lenses but I can’t wait another 3 weeks for the order to come in.
Again to reiterate Dr. Gordon himself is a pleasant Dr. but his staff and the organization of the office is just terrible. The office is also not very clean. One of the times I went in the carpet in the waiting area was so dirty it looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in about 3 months.
He has lost our family as patients as I can longer deal with the hassle and stress of dealing with his staff and just the amount of time it takes for things to come in.

The main issue I have with this establishment is the front desk. There has been a couple of times where they could not locate my record. I called around 1:00PM and they told me they couldn’t find my file; they said they will call me back as soon as possible. I call back at 5:30 because they did not call. I spoke to a different woman and she is making excuses for the front desk assistants saying that they are really busy and they do not have time to locate my file all day… Maybe if they were organized they wouldn’t have to go on a hunt perhaps?! I’ve spoken to that lady before and she never fails to give me a badattitude. The initial girl I spoke to is really nice though. but unfortunately she cannot salvage this relationship.
Yes, the place is very messy. One of the rooms looks likes it can be on Hoarders.
Dr. Gordon is ok… although writing my information down on what appears to be a piece of scrap paper isn’t very comforting. Maybe they couldn’t locate my file because they mistook it for trash? Oh wait. then it that case, it would probably just be thrown in the other room.

Reading some of these reviews. I HAVE to chime in. I’ve been going to Dr. Gordon for probably close to 10 years now and I have nothing but good things to say.
I’m also not sure how people are blaming eye infections on a doctor? You interact with germs all day and touch your eyes more often than you think so I’m puzzled as how this can be pinpointed to an hour long interaction with a doctor.
I moved to West Covina & STILL drive all the way to Burbank to see him because I like him that much. I’ve been to tons of crappy eye doctors that spend 10 minutes with you and try to write you a prescription which isn’t correct for your eyes. Dr. Gordon spends close to an hour with me each time, really checking everything & answering any questions I have no matter if he has another appointment waiting or not.
I also got Lasik done through the doctor which entails you going to one of 3 Lasik doctors he partners (he will recommend which one is best for you based on your eye problems & prescription) with and then he does your pre & post op. He was there every step of the way and even offered to meet me at my Lasik appointment & be there for the procedure if I wanted. Post op care was just as good.
When I did wear contacts/​glasses, Dr. Gordon would always fit me with the prescription & send me home with some trials. He told me to wear them for a week and see how I felt. If they were too strong (over corrected) or not sharp enough (under corrected), he would tell me to come back so we can adjust. It’s not easy hitting someone’s exact prescription on the head and many doctors will not do this. They just write you a prescription & send you on your way and you’re stuck with glasses containing the wrong prescription.
I actually recommend Dr. Gordon to all of my friends who are looking for a good eye doctor.

When back after 2 years against the advice of my wife this office did every thing wrong, the prescription was off, the staff even worst George mess up so bad twice that I choose to wear my old prescription until I get new eye doc.

It’s a very unprofessional office. I went here a year ago for an eye exam (only cause it was close to work and they accepted VSP) and I still remember it all.
As soon as I walked in, no one was at the front desk. A lady vacuuming called the doctor for me. Not actually walking over to him, but yelling from quite a distance.
Once the exam started, I noticed the exam room was in a horrific mess. The optometrist was eating Cheetos, wiped his hands (not washed) then began the exam by touching my face.
As I left, the doctor gave me business cards to hand out at my office. Which I did, but really just left the stack on the breakroom.
I was having intermittent headaches that began getting more and more frequent after getting glasses here. I went to another optometrist (at Costco, which was great and cheap!). It turns out my prescription was slightly over corrected in one eye which explains the headaches. I wasted money buying new glasses/​contacts and had to leave work early due to headaches/​nausea because the prescription he wrote for me was off.
I won’t be returning.
I stopped using Unilocal recently, but started back up again just because I was passionate to inform people about this place.

I found Dr. Gordon via Unilocal and am very glad I did. Having just moved to the area, I had no clue where I could go for new glasses. I’ve never really been a fan for eyeglass chain business. The office itself might not be as «hip» or modern as other places, but the selection available and friendly staff are what really counts. Dr. Gordon, himself, was just as pleasant and easy to get along with. He was able to answer any question I had and took the time to make sure I was satisfied with my experience.
I love my new glasses and have recommended Dr. Gordon to several of my friends.
