So I’ve been getting a ton of messages from others that are in the same situation as me. Bottom line, there is nothing that can be done. I’ve heard from another Unilocaler that Sean (the office manager) is actually a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ partner in the office but is refusing to acknowledge it. If this is true, I’m assuming it’s because he doesn’t want to take financial responsibility and pay back for the remaining service.
At the end of the day, this office scammed everyone and I opted to not deal with the office at all and am finishing my treatment elsewhere with an ortho of my choosing and going through my insurance to cover the service fees as needed… completely separate of my treatment with this office.
As much as I would like to be of help, I do not have any more detail than what I’ve written and I’ve literally gotten so many msgs asking what to do and I don’t have an answer. I really just want to leave this horrible experience behind and don’t wanna deal with it anymore so please do not msg me. Thanks and good luck!

They apparently have an orthodontist taking over all of Dr. K’s cases with an additional charge of $ 1000 which is RIDICULOUS!!! That office/​his family/​everyone involved has basically dragged Dr. K’s good name all through the mud by scamming every single one of his patients. SHAME ON YOU!!!

I received a message from another one of his patients who is just as lost as I am. We are assuming that there are tons more who have been cheated so let’s all get together and take legal action if need be! EITHER HIS INSURANCE OR HIS ESTATE NEEDS TO TAKE FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS!!!

Dr. Keobounma has passed away in January so this review is for how the office has handled my case since.
I have paid upfront $ 3k for the full invisalign treatment and I still have about 3 – 4 months left of my treatment however since Dr. James’ sudden passing, the person in charge of the office, Sean Sanchez has not been in contact with me on how to proceed with my treatment… whether I get my money back or if I am to be transfered to another dentist. Dr. James also worked in his step father’s office in Palm Springs and when I called, the receptionist let me know that they had already transfered all of his patients to another orthodontist and covered any additional costs and that the burbank office should be doing the same.
I have continuously called and sent emails but the office has ignored all of them. When I called invisalign directly they said they can’t do anything but transfer my files to another dentist in their network but I would have to cover the additional fees myself as they have not received the full payment from Dr. Keobounma’s office for my treatment. I went for a consultation with another Ortho and his fees are $ 1100 for the rest of my treatment. I forwarded the new Ortho info and his fees to Dr. Keobounma’s office staff (SEAN SANCHEZ) asking them to cover the fees but of course I have not heard back from either of them!!!
Not sure what I can do at this point… I’ve alreadly filed a complaint with the dental board but what do I do in the meantime? I never should’ve clicked on the google ad to this office 2 years ago then I wouldn’t be in this predicament!!! Don’t dental offices have insurance to prepare for events like this!!!

Very helpful and knowledgable!!! Dr. Keobounma helped me with getting my smile back with invisalign and is always professional :) The staff is very supportive as well. Very grateful. Pricing is affordable too.

I recently had the Invisalign treatment with Dr. Keobounma and was very happy with the results. I am in the refinement stage at present which I know will further more align my teeth. The doctor is very caring and he explained everything carefully. The cost was fair and I would recommend him to anyone considering invisalign.

I had a terrible experience here. After seeing him for an invisilign consultation, I paid him 3,000 dollars up front, in cash. After he drilled the attachments on my teeth I noticed a crack in one of my teeth. The next day half of the tooth fell out in my lunch. I had to then go to another dentist to have that fixed. Then two weeks later another tooth cracked. He then recommended that we stop the invisilign treatment and that I didn’t need it anyway. He should have told me that BEFORE he took my money. I was only on tray 3 and he also told me that I could kiss all of my money goodbye due to his «expenses.» What about my expenses due to his incompetence?! Now I have to pay another 1700 dollars to fix another tooth. He also didn’t want me to contact the dental insurance but I did and they ruled in my favor and told him to reimburse me. Let’s see if I get the check… If not, hello small claims court. And hello to the dental association oversight board. This supposed professional is so dishonest and shady. Do not pay him all upfront if his cheap services entice you. Only make payments!

I found this place on Unilocal when I was looking for a dental office that has Invisalign. I’m glad I came here! Dr. Keobounma is very professional and competent. The rest of the staff is very nice and accommodating. I highly recommend this place.

I had four wisdom teeth extracted about a year ago and Dr. Keobounma did an amazing job! He talked me through everything very thoroughly and answered any questions I had. The procedure went extremely well and was very affordable. I heeled within a few days with no complications, and the follow up consultation was free. I will definitely be coming back soon for more cosmetic procedures. I wouldn’t recommend anywhere else. The staff was very pleasant as well. They even helped assist me out to the car when I was getting picked up after the procedure because I was still very out of it. Not much else to say other than they are the best!

I went to get invisalign after seeing the ad on the website for $ 1499. I went in for the consultation, he said if you want to do longer length of time, he told me it will be $ 2000, so I paid $ 2000. It was nice that he has explained the whole process etc which everything you need to know. Well, then I went back for the last time for the permanent retainer, He has scanned my teeth which took like 30 mins, then tells me that I have to pay extra $ 300 or so (he wasn’t even sure how much) for it! He never mentioned about the «extra fee» in the beginning when he explained about the retainer. If I have known, I would have gone to another place for better price. How could he forget to tell me in the beginning about the extra fee for the retainer while he explained the whole process of how many retainers I was getting AND the permanent retainer in the end of the invisalign?! I just felt like it was a total rip off…

I went to Dr. Keobounma after seeing the reviews on Unilocal.I went in for an Invisalign consult, and I was pleased to see how thorough and knowledgable he is. I got my trays and they are fitting well! Dr. Keobounma also has a really great staff. You can also sign up for text message reminders before your appointment starts!

Dr. Keobounma is an amazing dentist. I had my 4 wisdom teeth extracted here recently and the whole process was a breeze. He recommended me sedation, which made the extraction pain free. I did some research before choosing this place and I found out that the price was the most reasonable I could find. The staffs working there were very nice as well.

My wisdom tooth was hurting for the past few days and my schedule is full on weekdays so Saturdays are the only days I can go seek help. I called in in the morning and they tried to fit me into their schedule the same day. I do not have dental insurance and let them know so right off the bat. They said it was okay and that they won’t charge me for the first consult. The staffs were so friendly; they offered me a bottle water and quickly gave me an x-​ray. Dr. James Keobounma kindly let me know that my nerves were wrappped around root canals hence I would need a specialist to assist. He gave me a referral and offered me three prescriptions for the pain. I asked how much do I owe them and he said that I do not need to worry about it. I tried to tip the staffs $ 10 but they would not let me. They asked me to treat myself to Starbucks. I’m really touched; they have their heart in the right place because they actually care for their patients through their gestures and charge a fraction of what other dentists would. You would think they will rush through their patients for the low price they’re charging but they don’t!

Dr. Keobounma is amazing! He is hands down the most skilled, gentle and knowledgeable dentist I know, it’s so refreshing to find a dentist like that out here. I had my 2 wisdom tooth pulled out last week and let me start by saying that I was a bit terrified of the procedure, but Dr. Keobounma patiently listened to all my questions and gave easy to understand answers, he also made me feel at ease and walked me through every step of the procedure, working at my pace, making sure that I was ok every step of the way. His hands are magical, I only felt a little pressure here and there, but no pain at all! The location is great, plenty of parking space. Staff is friendly, accommodating and professional.
I highly recommend this office to everyone, especially if you’re scared about having work done. This is the best dental office I have ever been to!

I got all my wisdom teeth out here a week ago and it was such a great experience!
I’ve been putting this procedure off for a looong time because I was so terrified of anything dentist related, but the time finally came for me to get it done. I had only planned on taking one wisdom tooth out, but during the consultation, Dr. Keobounma told me I might as well take them all out at once, because removing them would be far more beneficial than keeping them in. He recommended IV sedation, which terrified me because I had never been sedated before, and the sedation part actually scared me more than the actual extraction. But, I knew I had to get it done one way or the other so I scheduled my appointment.
The week leading up to the surgery was by far the worst part of the entire procedure. If you know you are going to be a nervous wreck, I would suggest you try to schedule the surgery as soon as possible because the anticipation and worrying about it was making me feel sick all week. The actual surgery was a total breeze, it literally felt like I closed my eyes for a second, and when I opened them, the nurse told me everything was all done! Which was totally trippy, in the best possible way.
Dr. Keobounma must have really gentle hands, because I had minimal bleeding, pain, or swelling, even though one of my wisdom teeth had grown in completely horizontal and was impacted. Like I said, it’s been a week so I still have some tenderness, but overall i’m so happy with my experience and I would recommend this office to anyone. I will definitely be returning in the future. Also, I paid out of pocket and the prices are definitely reasonable!

I had the best experience with Dr. Keobounma. I am a big time baby when it comes to going to the dentist. Not having insurance made things even worse. I have been in excruciating pain for the past week because of my wisdom teeth and I’ve been searching all over for a Dentist with reasonable prices, but didn’t find anyone I could actually afford.
I did a google search and found Dr. Keobounma on Unilocal and I saw his prices were very reasonable so I gave him a call and ask for earliest appt.
The receptionist was very sweet and squeezed me in the same day to get some Xrays done.
I actually had my wisdom teeth taken out today. I have a liver issue so Dr. Keobounma recommended to not sedate me and to only numb me. I was freaked out and shaking, but he along with his assistants made me feel better once I was sitting on the chair.
I have to admit the shots hurt like hell and I started freaking out, but once he was cutting my gums and getting the teeth out, I DIDN’T FEEL A THING!
In the past, I have been to dentists who have caused me a lot of pain by just cleaning my teeth or filling cavities.
I am so grateful that I found Dr. Keobounma. I will always recommend him. He is amazing.
If you are a broke college student or simply do not have insurance, visit their office! You will not regret it.
Also, they gave my teeth in the end and they were in perfect shape. He didn’t even break them.

Got all 4 wisdom teeth extracted about a month ago, even though a few days prior to, I was not fully persuaded about the procedure, but thank God everything was quick and painless, after sedation of course. Scheduled a follow up appointment at no charge to me and everything seem to be running its course smoothly. Thanks James, and the crew!

Highly recommend for anyone in Los Angeles who needs teeth extraction and has to pay out of pocket. James is highly skilled and is offering these services at a fraction of the cost that most places do. Very happy a place like this exists!

This office is amazing. It is by long and far the BEST dental office I have ever visited. I went in for a consultation on Friday afternoon and got all four wisdom teeth extracted with IV sedation Saturday morning. He prescribed a Xanax before the appointment so I went in pretty cool and calm. He is the only medical professional EVER to land my IV on the first try! I woke up with no pain, just groggy and a bit disoriented from the IV. I also generally have a very difficult time with taking pills of any kind, but even with 4 different meds, they have all stayed down just fine even without food. James is very considerate, listened to all my concerns and explained the entire process to me based on my xrays during our consultation. It is worth whatever drive you have to make to get your dental work done here. For those of you who may be sceptical based on the pricing because it sounds too good to be true, it’s not! Dental school at NYU and another certification from USC for extractions (I don’t remember the exact name of the certification, but you can ask him when you go). I am very throrough, very sceptical and despite that I am EXTREMELY pleased with my entire experience. Many thanks to James, Sean and the rest of the patient and kind staff!

I expected the worst but got through it in under 1 week with the prescription and followup that was given to me. I highly recommend this dentist and his team for the gentle hands and affordable pricing they offer.
