Tilley’s Union 76 Service

Rich is awesome!!! I went to him after being told by Robertson Honda that I need to pay them $ 1000 to fix a part; Rich took the time to look it up and found out there was an extended warranty and Honda had to fix it for free!!! Rich was honest & kind and I hear from many fellow Burbankians is a great mechanic too!!!

There’s a reason I’ve been having my car serviced here for 15+ years, and Rich is a prime example.
Aside from their exemplary work and fair prices, they know what good customer service is.
Recently, a front headlight on my car went out, so I picked up new bulbs at Pep Boys, who wanted $ 80 to install them. Seriously? Headed over to Rich, who refused to charge me, because the process took about 3 minutes.
Again, there’s a reason I keep coming back to this place for oil changes, tires, etc., and it’s because they’re not your usual mechanics, they’re like family.
Highly recommend these guys if you need a mechanic you can TRUST.

These guys are the nicest and most low key of all car places. Came in on the late side as they were almost closing and they took me in and helped out with no attitude!

Love these guys! I’ve been getting gas here on and off for years. Lately, I have had a s-​l-​o-​w– leak in my front tire. I live a lot closer to another station where I get gas because I can get my car washed and Cornejo’s Service Station when I’m broke., as they have inexpensive gas. I needed gas, I was broke and my tire was really low so I stopped at Cornejo’s Service Station. I was going to put $ 20 in and I asked them to check my tire… guy said ‘sure the FIRST tire is free but if any others need air it will be $ 7.50 PER TIRE”. I was stunned and reiterated what he said because I KNOW I misunderstood… nope. I said I’ll take $ 10 in gas and I will never be back.
Yesterday, I drove my low tire to Tilley’s, got my $ 20 asked if he would mind checking the tire and he cheerfully, kindly, happily said sure… I had to tell him the story and he was just as appalled as I was.
I will never go back to Cornejo’s Service Station and I’ll always drive the extra few miles to Tilley’s. I may even have them service my Tahoe.

Just had my tire plugged here. I was in and out in 5 minutes or less. And they had other cars they were working on. Dude was amazing. $ 15, great price too. Thanks guys.

I am the second generation in my family to use Tilley’s. In fact my entire family went to Rhys’s Dad’s station on Pass Ave at the Von’s Shopping Center until that closed in the 70’s. Rhys can be a little grumpy sometimes, but you won’t find better or more honest service anywhere. There’s going to be a lot of bummed out people around town when he retires!

Been taking my cars to Rhys for years. Great service. My Explorer is at almost 200K miles thanks to Rhys and his crew! I work nearby so after I drop my car off in the morning they will even give me a ride to the office.

Unilocal wasn’t in existence when I began using Rhys for maintenance on my company vehicles years ago! So happy Unilocal exists now so I can shout to the world how wonderful Tilly’s is. Not only without a doubt the most knowledgeable team of mechanics with Rhys at their helm, but also the most honest, thoughtful and not least of all tidy team! They’ve not only advised me when work needs to be done but when it DOESN ‘T as well. You can’t get more honest than that!
I know I’m dating myself but this is truly one of the last «Service Stations» in existence and their quality of work combined with their pleasant demeanor proves it every time I send one of our vans their way.
My only concern is that Rhys may retire someday before I do and then what will I do?
May have to close up shop!

When you’re looking for great all around service this place is the place to go. Rhys has been in the business since the 60s! So you can only imagine how knowledgable he is. He has an outstanding set of help and everyone is very genuine and honest. This is the finest gas station Burbank has to offer. Any questions you have they will definitely answer to the best of their ability. The gas prices are going down constantly so we all love that!
So go to Rhys’ you won’t be disappointed!

Finding a good mechanic who you can trust to do a good job and charge a fair price is rare. That’s why you should take your car to Mr. Tilly’s cause he is a rare gem. He won’t do you like most mechanics who overcharge you other extra services when all you came in for was an oil change.

This is the best gas station in Burbank. The guy inside is wonderful and very helpful. Another came outside and checked my tires and they were both very nice. I recommend going here and getting gas and they also have great mechanics there as well. Love this place.

I always stopped here for gas simply because it’s convenient for me on the way home from work, but yesterday I was dumb and managed to lock my keys in the car while I was washing the windows. The people here were so nice, not only did they let me hang out in the (air-​conditioned!) little store but they called a locksmith for me since I don’t have AAA and chatted with me while I waited. Great people, very nice and friendly! Thanks for making a frustrating morning a lot easier!

The people who work here are so ridiculously kind and friendly, it makes you wonder if you’re still in LA; it’s almost as if they actually LIKE their jobs! What a novel thought :) My experience today was fairly typical of the few times I’ve stumbled in. I was scrounging my car trying to find quarters for the air pump. One of the mechanics was driving out and stopped to tell me to pull up to the hose on the mechanics side, it was free and someone with a gage would come help me. As soon as my car pulled in, Bobby popped out and offered to do everything. He was fun and friendly and chatted away, making me feel like he was genuinely happy to be crawling around on the ground, checking my tire pressure for free. When he finished he said that there was, indeed one tire below level and that, since it was slightly peculiar to just have the one be so much lower, if it got low again, to come back and he’d figure out the problem since he couldn’t find anything wrong by sight. It was simple, not like he moved heaven and earth for me, but no one HAD to help me at all and he certainly didn’t have cause to be so much fun in conversation. I left with a huge smile on my face from the 5 minutes or so spent with a mechanic at a gas station; how often do you get to say that? As my warrantee is up on my car soon, I know that I will be taking it here from now on. It’s not just good service, it’s genuine service and that really is hard to find.

I’ve been telling people for a while now that Rhys is the best mechanic in Burbank. I take it back, he’s the best mechanic in Los Angeles… Possibly the country except for my old mechanic in Chicago and even then it’s a tie.
I’ve been taking my car to him for over a year now. He and his crew are completely honest and go above and beyond to help you. Take your car to him, you won’t be sorry!

Fix your pumps! One of them didn’t have a display so I had to move my car to another pump. The pump I moved to didn’t have the latch to hold the gas pump lever open so I had to hold the lever. Don’t like smelling like gasoline so I’ll take my time coming back here.

Fantastic, HONEST service. Rhys and his staff are professional and personable. He took the time to explain options for my repair and never talked down to me as a woman. We will be making Tilley’s our regular service place from now on. Highly recommended.

Please tell everyone to go see Rhys for car repairs and/​or maintenance. I moved to LA in 2006 without anything really. No job. No connections. Approximately one friend. Through the grapevine, I heard that Rhys was the person to see for car maintenance and repairs. I was living in East Hollywood at the time so driving up to Burbank for an oil change wasn’t a big deal. Plus, he his staff, and his family are so friendly and welcoming I’ll never forget his kindness for a newcomer to this crazy city. I’ve since moved from that side of town but still take my car to Rhys. He’s honest, friendly, and has done some important work on my car — including a major tuneup (I’ve had it since 1996 and she runs like a charm). I like an honest mechanic who tells it like it is and doesn’t try to BS like every other car person has done to me in the past. Love that I can gas up my car there and that it’s still a full-​service station. Wonderful!

Rhys is one of those people whose family has been in Burbank forever and he was recommended to me by another longtime Burbank resident. I wouldn’t take my car to anybody else because he is so trustworthy and not quick to just fix something and charge you tons of money. I am a single woman and I can walk into this garage and not get ripped off. Everyone there is helpful and kind.
