Cambrian Glass & Mirror Company

I had a great experience with Cambrian Glass. We had them install a glass door on a tub, replacing a shower curtain for a remodel we had done about 6 years ago. They explained everything, including the risks, and did not oversell anything. The end result is perfect, with top quality workmanship. The entire process took about two weeks from initial visit to installation. Nasrin (the salesperson) and Antonio (installer) were both excellent. I’ll use Cambrian Glass in the future if I have other projects.

Too bad this store wasn’t opening at its regular hour of 10 am. I was one of two customers waiting outside. I called and found out they weren’t coming in until 11.
Sigh.

I had an excellent experience getting a pane of glass replaced quickly.
Something crashed into my daughter’s bedroom window at 810am scaring the heck out of all of us. It left a large hole. At 915, I called and set up an appointment between 11 and 12. He had me measure the window.
They showed up at 1145 and replaced the pane and took away the glass in less then 30 minutes.
It was what I expected to pay (~$ 200). They were polite and professional and I was so grateful that they could fit me in that same day. And most importantly, I felt completely safe with them working around my home. And they were careful not to let the cats out.

Cambrian glass has the best price when I called around for quotes for a 6′ tall 14 ft wall I needed to have mirrors installed. They were also the most responsive and was able to do the job sooner than any of other glass shops I called. The only shop that came close was on online company which would put me out another 4 to 6 weeks. The mirrors are no different in quality than the other shops — ¼″ thick. Installation included chrome trims on top and bottom and glued to the back. Antonio especially was very pleasant to deal with. He and his partner are hardworking, and finished the job quickly and even helped me haul away 2 unusable old mirrors.

I’ve used Cambrian Glass and Mirror for several small projects over the years. Their location is convenient and they have done the work I’ve needed while I waited.
It’s not the first place I’d go for small talk (the owner seems to be all business), but the work is good and the price is right.

We had created a piece of artwork with my child’s class that was to be auctioned off as a fundraiser for their elementary school. During transportation, to my dismay the glass was shattered. I called a few local places and Cambrian Glass was reasonably priced and could take care of it right away.
When I brought the piece in they were very helpful, offered to help me clean the glass from the back of my car and treated the artwork with care. They made the repair and the artwork looked as good as new. They were efficient, caring, and priced right! When I went to pay they actually ended up donating the services, to support our school. It was a generous and kind gesture which I really appreciated.
I will be back for other glass and mirror needs. Support this local business!

I tried to give a local business the work but as well 3 calls, one missed appointment. Again, Antonio is the culprit. Nasrin was helpful but hadn’t called me back after he no showed on Saturday. You snooze you lose…

I had a terrible experience with Cambrian glass! Antonio is extremely unprofessional and doesn’t follow through with anything he says he will do. It has taken me over two months (when he promised me two weeks) to get the custom mirrors from them and when he finally installed them today, the details were not what we originally discussed. Instead of trying to fix the problem for us, he just tells me to come in and pay for the damn bill and that he couldn’t fix what we wanted him to because he doesn’t have the equipment to do it. No solution was given and wasted us two freaking months to get nothing out of it!
Don’t shop here they’re the typical over promise but under deliver type of business.
Oh and Antonio is extremely difficult to work with throughout the whole process.

It took 3 phone calls (more than I like) but when the installer finally showed up, he fixed at no charge. I will definitely use them again.

Ok, I’m new to Unilocal,but I’m mad! I called Antonio on Monday and he said he couldn’t talk because he was driving so call him back later (why pick up the phone?). I called back and he said he’d come over that same day between 5:15 — 5:30. He never showed. I called him around 7 that night and left him a msg, thinking he may show up later, but he never did, and he never returned my phone call. I called back yesterday, Tuesday and asked why he never showed up… I couldn’t understand his mumbling but he was kind of laughing about it. He said he would show up this morning at 8:30 and it’s now 9:30 and I’ve given up on the guy. I was really disappointed because my contractor’s wife highly recommended Cambrian Glass. She even said to ask for Antonio, specifically, but obviously he has a problem making it to the appointments he schedules himself!

I broke an old double-​hung window while cleaning it. It was just a few days before Christmas, and my local shop was all booked up, so they referred me to Cambrian. Cambrian couldn’t come out same day, but asked me to call back the following morning and they’d figure out how to fit me in. They did, the window was nicely repaired, and the price was reasonable. I’ll likely use them again.

I ordered glass for my new furniture dresser, night stands, coffee table, and a tv stand. The glass was stronger than glass I shopped form other locations. The edges of the glass was very even and smooth. There shop was very professional and they had lots to offer. Their installer really knew what he is doing. Many years in business. I recommend them to anyone looking for glass and mirror work.

I normally do not write reviews but this person pissed me off enough that I had to share.
I called in 4÷9÷2013 to set up an on a window to check be repaired, the guy answered and said we could do it at 7:30PM, not sure why he agreed to this even though it is after the working hours but he did. I tried calling him several times before just to confirm the appointment he never answered. I still went over to the house, in hopes he would show up. I waited and waited and called and called, no answer.
Now today, I call again and ask him what happened.
He starts laughing and said «I don’t know»…
He then tries to set up an appointment for today…
I then asked how come you could not just call me and say he could not make it.
He then starts laughing again and says «I was busy»…
He then tries to set up an appointment for today again…
I just hung up.
Freakin A, if he was busy, why set up an appointment!!! Wasted my time and I also told the tenants it was going to get fixed…
This guy is not professional and does not give a shit about his business. I advise you all to stay away from him. Unless you want to be stood up.

Ordered a frameless glass shower from Cambrian Glass. They came out and measured and told me it would take a week to fabricate. I called them the following week to set up an installation. They couldn’t find my order so they told me they’d call me back. No call back. I called back in the afternoon and spoke with somebody else that promised they’d look into it and call me back. No call back. The next day I stopped by their storefront. They were surprised to see me and didn’t have my order. They had forgotten to place it and explained it would take another week. The following week I stopped by to set up an installation and they said the glass was in but tried to push my installation into the following week. They came out the following day to install. The final product looks great. We couldn’t be happier with our shower. They also measured for a glass table top and told me they’d call with a quote. No call. If you can put up with their terrible service their product is great.

Terrible service. AND they broke my new glass.
Needed a brand new piece of glass cut. Called Saturday & spoke with Hank. He said to bring it in on Monday… as he neeed 2 bodies there to do it. Could be done same day. Took the glass in Monday. He said to leave glass there & come back to Tuesday afternoon… couldn’t do it that day. Went back Tuesday at 3pm. Glass was not done. Nasarin tried to cut it while I waited. Couldn’t do it — she made a call & then told me that they didn’t cut it because it was thick & would require a lot of pressure. They’d do it later that day when another one of their employees got there. They’d call me Wednesday. No call Wednesday. Got a call at noonish on Thursday advising that the glass is tempered & can’t be cut. It took 4 days for glass experts to make that determination? Yikes.
Told them I’d be in same afternoon to pick it up. Got to shop @ 1:52pm…sign on door says they’d re-​open at 2pm. Waited till 2:20pm…the doors opened. As Hank was loading the glass into my car, I noticed damage — a silver dollar sized chip & 5 inch scrape along the edge, which has made it SHARP. He was adamant that they didn’t cause the damage & sent me away. This was a brand new piece of glass that is now unusable. What a joke.

I found Cambrian glass on Unilocal and thought I would give them a try (love to support local smaller businesses). I called to get an estimate and after discussing my needs (large round glass for table w/​bevel), Nasrin convinced me to come in to see my options. So glad I did.
She was knowledgeable and very helpful; even called several vendors to find me the lowest price. Now that is service.
Had the glass delivered yesterday and it looks fantastic, even better than I had imagined. Will send referrals to this business, no problem.

I decided to go with Cambrian based on my fellow Unilocalers — even though they were more expensive than the other glass shops I contacted. Needed 3 heavy glass pieces to cover an antique table + 2 leaves.
When I unwrapped the glass, there was a large chunk already cracked.
I immediately called & after a good amount of them playing «are you sure it wasn’t you?» (fair enough), they agreed for me to bring it in. I do so & get a lot more of «you must have cracked it» and even a suggestion that the exactly matching cracked piece came from other glass (some sort of conspiracy underway?). After much more back & forth (they loaded it & the cracked piece was under their wrapping, so I am confident it wasn’t me), they agreed to fix it (telling me to come back several days later).
They aren’t very convenient for my location, so every time going back is a new schedule/​work challenge. To top it, though, we agree I will pick up the new piece Tuesday morning. They are supposed to open at 9, so here I am, to find them not answering their phone & a sign on the floor indicating they will open today at 10:30. Ugh!
The only saving grace is that they did replace the broken piece (without additional cost), and now that everything is done, the glass looks pretty good. Everything was measured properly, etc.

Upon discovering that one of the windows in our house was broken, we needed to find someone to replace the glass in it. Found this place on Unilocal and had a GREAT experience!
My mom took the window (with broken glass mostly in tact) over to Cambrian Glass & Mirror Co. on a Saturday morning. She asked if we could get the window back the same day which they were able to accommodate. She was quoted a fair price and was told she could pick up the window in 4 hours.
When my mom returned, the man offered to carry the repaired window to the car for her. The workmanship was excellent and the experience was great.
We would recommend Cambrian Glass & Mirror Co. to anyone!

I bought a bathroom mirror from Lowe’s and they cut it for free but the edges were very rough. I searched the San Jose area for a place that could polish the edges and no one does it. Wait, actually there were 2. One company was going to charge me 16 $ for each side, what a freaking ripoff for a 26by60 that i only bought for 11 $.
Cambrian on the other hand did it for 10 bucks and it only took a few minutes. Antonio polished it so good it was like those mirrors that you buy from a store that was already premade. Good job.
