The Cruiser Shop

Word of extreme caution. They’re customer service is extremely spotty, and I’m being generous. Helpful when you’re alone in the shop, and selective on what and who is important. I tried 5 times to get an order through over a week and a half. Nothing. No follow ups or follow through for that matter. I headed to Hyland bikes and got the service I was looking for. If you’re looking for cruiser stuff, chubbys cruisers online are helpful too. Much faster than these guys. Too bad.

OK, my bad. I can’t believe I didn’t get on Unilocal earlier and give these guys the credit they deserve for the simply EPIC job Dom did on my cruiser last year! Oh well…
Brought a new Electra cruiser into The Cruiser Shop with an idea in mind to do a full «retro-​mod» custom job on the bike and even though my concept was definitely on the mild to conservative side of what Dom is capable of he took the time to research some appropriate new parts, a good powder coat and some other period based pieces to create a truly sweet ride that always gets compliments everywhere I ride. These guys are really at the top of the food chain in the custom and classic cruiser world, if you are anywhere in Northern California you owe it to yourself to pay them a visit. Thanks Dom!

The cruiser shop has the coolest custom bikes in the area! I bought a skull bones downtown edition last year and have had no issues. Dominic and Tim excel in customer service and satisfaction.
They have plenty of extra goodies that makes your custom beach cruiser truly unique. I recently purchased thick slick tires and absolutely love the way it looks and the ride is improved.
I would definitely recommend the cruiser shop and Dominic for knowledge, customization, inventory, dependable high quality products, and customer service.

So. this is a delayed update because I was hoping to resolve the issue in person. When I picked up the frame I found out it hadn’t actually been worked on. The measurements for the back hub mounts were the same as when I brought it in. I called and left messages but no reply. It’s not convenient to stop by although I did (they were closed). So I just ate the $ 20. Sad. I think it’s a good shop — just needs to work on their communication both in the shop & with customers

Super cool place. Walked in and Tim helped me. Super cool guy. I told him this was my first bike and that I wanted to customize my own. Threw out my ideas of what I wanted and colors He showed me a few different ways on how I can build the bike. He never pressured me into buying anything. He really took his time and showed me other bikes which I think was super cool. He made visit comfortable, not rushing me. I highly recommend this place.

This cruiser shop is awesome. Probably the only cruiser bike shop around San Jose and Campbell area. I’ve been coming here for over a year and the owner Dom has been really helpful. I’ve built two bikes from this shop one Tango for me and a female Tango for the wifey.
They provide all types of service from tuning up your bike, powder coat, wheel lacing and more. I recommend this shop to anyone who wants to build their own bike or if you want them to build one for you.
They make sure that you have the right parts that will fit your bike. Come check them out and custom build a bike.

Bought my wife a cruiser for her BD from here — Really happy with the quality and the service. We needed some modifications done to the bike and they took care of it at a reasonable price. I’ll probably going to get something for myself from here very soon!

Ordered a bike and then needed some customization. The crew at TCS were more than helpful! My bike came out just how I wanted! Very reasonable pricing for all work.

These guys are legit. I came in looking for a pair of ape hangers for my Electra Straight 8. I’m mechanically illiterate and ended up getting the wrong size, much to my dismay. My wife took them back two weeks later and the guys exchanged for the right size. No receipt. No questions asked. Good customer service is the cornerstone of a great business, and these guys are on the right track.
They have some beautiful custom cruisers and a room full of accessories to boot. This is definitely my Go To place for cruisers from here on out.

Well, I guess Im the guy with the bad experience. I went to The Cruiser shop because of the Unilocal score. But, for some reason, I was pretty much treated like my satisfaction didn’t matter. Maybe it was because I didn’t spend enough, or my request was too simple, not custom. I don’t know, but I dropped $ 380 for a standard Skull x Bones cruiser from Huntington Beach Cruisers. Then I asked for blue rims, matching blue pedals and blue mini ape hanger handle bars. It should’ve been complete in two weeks.
But it took twelve. And I was completely ignored for 5 emails and told I could «come pick my bike up and they’d let me know when the handle bars came in and I could put them on myself.»
Four times I came to the store and Dominick was never there, instead leaving behind a lackey that couldn’t tell me anything about anything other than «Dominick is out right now and I’m not sure when he’ll be back», each time.
There was a complete lack of interest in getting my handlebars from the paint shop and providing a quality product to their customer. I was planning, from day one, to buy another cruiser in black for my sone, but we went elsewhere. The cruisers from this place look great. Very cool styles, but I will never go back and I’ll never, ever recommend this place to anyone.

Looks like I don’t really need to write this review but wanted to let everyone know that we had a great experience with this shop. We were looking for a couple cruisers and a friend told us about this place. We were able to pick out everything we wanted on the bike and Dominick was able to add brakes and gears to the bikes we wanted. Cant wait to go for a cruise! We spent about the same that we would have on something not custom too!

Purchased two bikes from Dominick from a very popular brand in So Cal, but unavailable to purchase anywhere else in the Bay Area. He took care of wheel, 3 speed shifter and custom powder coating work on one of them which were all completed as quickly as possible. You can tell Dominic takes pride in his work as everything was done to perfection. I get compliments on the upgrades he did every time I take my bike out. Very fair prices, top notch work, friendly, non pushy to buy something customer service. This is an excellent small business to support, as well as a great addition to the bicycle community.

The Cruiser Shop is located in the heart of Downtown Campbell, The Courtyard. Dominick, or D as most people call him, has several years experience in the custom built cruiser business, but has owned his own shop for a little over a year now. The Cruiser shop offers popular brand stock bicycles and fun accessories, such as baskets, blinged out drink holders, bells, and more. However, this shop is so succsseful due to the custom builds that leave there. D is extremely talented and takes so much pride in what he builds, that a piece of his heart leaves his shop with every bike. Though he has love in all the states and even other countries, he is all about making his loyal and local customers happy. Due to The Cruiser Shop’s growing popularity, custom builds may take a bit longer, but you won’t be disappointed in the short wait. Just take a look at the likes and followers on Instagram, Facebook, and other social media sites. Not only does D’s work speak for itself, people speak, and say nothing but the best about their one of a kind bikes, but more importantly how talented, yet humble this shop owner is.
My stock cruiser, with amazing added touches, can be found in the front window of the shop right now. It reads «Bombshell» across it, which was hand painted with beautiful pin stripes. D even ordered me a matching hot pink seat for my toddler so she could ride along in style!

Great products awesome options and even really nice employees. Why the 2 stars then you ask?
I ordered a bike last SEPTEMBER. The color I wanted was backordered — that’s fine — but come November when it was supposed to be in I never heard from them. So I called only to be told I had to wait now til January because things were taking longer than expected. I would have preferred to have heard the information by them calling me but fine, I was going to wait because this place had the best prices I could find other than Target/​Walmart options (and much better quality).
January comes and goes. Early February I call again and someone else says that it’s still backordered. It kinda sounded like he had no idea what I was talking about and wanted to play it off. Anyways, moral of the story: if you want a bike from this company make sure you just get something already in stock at the store. Because the second you leave the premises you are no longer a priority.
Oh and I ended up just buying a Huffy at Target. 7 speeds $ 190 and a sweet cup holder.

I recently decided I wanted a cruiser bike so I naturally turned to Unilocal to check on shops that sold a specific style I was looking at (Huntington Beach bike co). I stumbled apon these guys and let me tell you, Dom is awesome to work with he knows his stuff. He answered all my annoying questions very thoroughly. I ended up buying the skull and x bones downtown edition with the 3 Speed suicide shifter. I recomend this place to anybody that is looking to get a cruiser!

Dominick is the man! He went above and beyond and built my girlfriend an all flat black cruiser. It’s something we have been looking for her for months. I am so glad I found The Cruiser Shop. They have a great selection and Dominick (the owner) definitely understands customer service. Can’t say enough! She loves her bike and I am definitely going to have him build me a customs cruiser soon as well.

It doesn’t get much better than this. Cool bikes, great location, and awesome customer service. Dom and his wife Joclyn are just great people. My wife and I recently bought two cruisers from their shop, and we are so happy that we did. Everywhere we go people want to know where we got them. These bikes are just plain fun!
As a side note, my wife wanted to get some things changed on her bike to spruce it up even more, and Dom had no hesitation making it happen at no additional charge. You got to love great service. Thanks Cruiser Shop. We will be sending many people your way.

My wife & I recently stumbled upon this hidden gem & I’m so glad we did.
Dom took us in & answered all of our questions. He had my wife test ride a few bikes and never tried to «sell» us on anything. Just a genuine guy who wanted to share his passion for custom cruisers.
We purchased Maria’s bike on the spot. I mulled over her cool new ride & decided I needed Dom to give my current bike a lil makeover (which everyone LOVES btw!).
There was no hesitation in referring a few friends & two of them already grabbed a «his n hers» to go riding w/​us!
A really outstanding store that I’ll come back to often. We met Jaclyn while riding one Sat & I gotta say they are a husband & wife team ya can’t help liking & want to work with.

This shop is like dynamite: Small with a huge impact
The only local reseller of Behind Bars Inc. and Huntington Beach Bicycles. TCS represents their product lines well and anyone looking for a cruiser bike would be well served visiting Campbell’s newest bike shop.
It is all cruisers all of the time at The Cruiser Shop as the name implies. Dominic Guida from Behind Bars Inc. has setup shop in the heart of Campbell Ca. The location is a bit hidden, as it is nestled into a quaint row of boutique type of shops. The row is next to the open lot on Campbell Ave near the old Gas Lighter Theater.
Only limited by the store size, Dominick can take part list orders over the phone or email and have everything anyone would need when they arrive. The service is knowledgeable and awesome. The parts they have available in the shop are great and less expensive than other places.
