Just picked up a Specialized Sirrus from Wheel Away. Rick and his staff are excellent and answered many questions on many visits to help me customize the perfect bike for my budget. I got a Black Specialized Sirrus and added Manowar pedals, a Mirrycle Mirror (awesome) and Evo wheel Skewer Set. Bike was meticulously assembled and rides perfectly. Having a great shop like Wheel Away to service my bike means a lot!

This store, this staff, and how they have treated me through the years is great and there’s more… I live with a longtime friend who is in a wheelchair, he goes through tires, lots’a tires. Rick, the owner will personally pick up the flat ones and deliver the repaired or new tires when needed at no charge and yea, it’s because he’s a great guy.
They do great repair work and they are timely in the promised to be ready by dates. So I guess one could go to other bike shops in the area, I just dont know why you would.

I bought 2 bikes from wheel away for me and my wife and i after a couple rides on my new bike i knew i wanted something better to fit my style of riding. The owner made it possible for me to return the bike and purchase what i really needed snd wanted, this place has awesome customer service snd staff and have a great selection of specialized bikes. We love our new bikes and will returning to wheel away for all of our biking needs!

Great shop, I brought in a wheel for repair on a Monday and it was ready on Wednesday as promised. The gentleman that handled the work explained the repair and the cost was very reasonable. They also have a beautiful shop dog!

I stopped in based on my neighbors recommendation and I am definitely glad I did. I looked at a few bikes and received excellent service. The bike I was looking at was on sale and I was told the sale price was good for a month so not to worry about coming right back. I ended up going back and getting it as after doing some research it was definitely a good buy. I also bought a new bike for my 6yr old son. It was reasonably priced and light years better than his old bike from Target. I can’t recommend Wheel Away enough. It is now my go to bike store.

I brought my stroller and double stroller to the shop to get good tubes. The cheap ones provided by the brand went flat. I go over a lot of different terrain and they provided high endurance tubes. Great price and good service. Definitely a bike shop that provides more than just bike services.

What I like about Wheel-​Away is that they treat me well, despite I only drool over the bikes I want, not being able to buy it yet, and only buy some components… like the seat I bought the other day. I called them on the phone, after another bike shop lied about having it in their store, therefore causing me to be running very short on open business time. I called them, they verified the stock, I rushed over, and they let me buy the seat even though they were about to lock up the store… that’s a rarity in the Bay Area for any store of any type.
I know where I’m getting my Specialized, when all fits into place.

Rick and the team are quite possibly the nicest and most knowledgeable cycle enthusiasts that I have ever worked with! I have bought several bikes through them and the service is always amazing. Thanks again for providing great service and value for my family!

Every time I have gone in with questions, whether it’s to adjust my bike seat or to fix a broken front brake, the guys have been kind, helpful, and such a pleasure to talk to.

Love this place. Ric, Jake, and Dillion are the best! I have been receiving good service from these guys for years, but just today I brought in a wheel to be trued. It was a little slow in there so Ric threw it up on the truing stand and determined it wasn’t that bad and could quickly «give it a little love» as he said. In 5 minutes it was all tight and back to goodness! I felt a little guilty and tried to buy a water bottle on the way out. I failed, they gave that to me too! Obviously, not everything is free here but they do perform good work at an honest price. And they’re faster at getting it done than most other places too.

Great friendly service, I went in to replaced two tube on Saturday for my Fat tires and it was done within that day.

Had a great experience. After bike shopping all over the place for a good 5 months we finally found this family owned gem. Jake helped us, took his time letting us test drive each bike we were thinking about purchasing. The other employees were very helpful as well. We let them know our budget and they worked within those numbers. Super honest about what we don’t need and what we do need. Never felt rushed or pressured to buy. Great customer service, even gave us a deal on the helmet! Earned a «new to biking» loyal customer!

Wheel Away Bicycle Center, Rick, Jake & the other staff are great. They are so personable, knowledgeable and helpful. I went back again Wednesday had my bike tuned up, added a a computer, new clips & shoes. They explained everything & helped with the set up of the computer & changes I could make. They had me practice the use of the clips, shoes & computer there and it’s just great friendly service. Jake and Rick just know so much about different aspects of bicycling, and we can talk about bike trails and more. It’s just great. It’s a wonderful bicycle world. I’d recommend them to everybody. Wheel Away to health. It’s a great way to stay alive, healthy and active.

They have great customer service! I went there to buy a part for my bike they helped me real quick! They have almost every part that you need ! Highly recommended!

This is a different type of bike shop. And not necessarily in a good way.
From the moment you walk in the helpful staff greet you and lend a hand. Which can be good. However one quickly gets the feeling of pressure to buy something. They like to talk up the bicycles and features and validate the pricing. Wait, I knew this feeling was familiar. It feels just like a car dealership! Otherwise they’re nice people if you don’t mind the pressure. Definitely different the more typically chill vibe at bike shops.
The shop itself is a bit dated and they have a lot of bike but the diversity of the selection isn’t impressive.
Pricing isn’t cheap. I’ve found the same bicycle models at other shops for cheaper and the service is pricey too. I had my road bike serviced here and for what they did it was far too expensive.
If you’re looking to try out bikes (especially Specialized brand) and don’t mind being sold to then this shop is ok.

Had terrible service for the third and last time at Performance Bicycle. I Unilocaled bike shops and Wheel Away Cycle Center popped up. I came down and explained my poor experiences at their competitors down the street and the gentleman behind the counter took care of me personally. I just needed a tire put on.
Long and short, he was super friendly, talkative, charged me $ 10, and I was out the door in a zippy.
This is my bike store now. And it should be yours too.

The best bike shop in the Bay Area, by far. Over the years I’ve shopped around the Bay looking for various bikes ranging from Mountain bikes, cruisers and kids bikes for me and my family of four. I took a lot of time and shopped many different shops trying to find the best prices and taking test rides to make sure me or a family member loved the bike and always ended up at Wheel Away Cycle Center. The customer service is by far the best and that’s the bottom line of why we stick with this shop. Even if the price is better at another shop it’s not worth being blown off or being treated rudely by bad customer service.
In the other bike shops I shopped at in the Bay Area once they found out that I wasn’t going to spend 1k in their shop they quickly blew me off to shop by myself and ignored any questions. No doubt there are a lot of bike snobs in the area so beware.
Wheel Away always took that time and patience to help me choose the perfect bike for me or my kids, even if it was the lowest priced bike in the shop. They value customer service and going the extra mile compared to making a quick buck. They even took time to point out different bells and accessories to my 10 year old son last time we were in the shop. He was overjoyed to bring home his new cheeseburger bell and it made my day that an employee would do this for my boy. So far we’ve bought 5 bikes and lots of accessories over the years and have never regretted it.
The repair shop is just as good as the rest of the store, they are honest, priced very competitively and take the time to answer my newbie questions. They do a great tune up and recently overhauled my disabled son’s adult sized trike, which was in pretty bad shape from being left outside over the winter. I thought it was done with, but they made it ride like new without breaking the bank.
Highly recommended and they love to please their customers, you won’t regret buying your new bike here or having your beater serviced. No matter if your dropping a few bucks or buying top of the line… they will treat your same.

I would highly recommend checking this place out. Prior to coming here a few weeks ago, I did check out competitors who had just as good as a selection as this place, however, what set this place apart was the fact that I didn’t get any «pushy» salesmanship from anyone here. The guy I dealt with, Dylan, is a good dude. I told him straight up what my goal was, the budget I was working with, and had a s*** ton of questions to ask since it’s been 20 years since I last rode a bike.
In spite of all that, Dylan understood what I was getting at and he presented me three road bike options. He let me trial out all three for about 15 – 20 minutes each and I finally narrowed it down to one. The price of the bike was a few dollars higher than some other places I went to, but Dylan made it a non-​issue.
I did the same thing with Dylan as I did with other bike shops, but they looked at me like I was from another planet. I’m sorry I was blessed with super human strength, built like Thor, that I’m Asian, and that I’m not your typical cyclist type. The only thing preventing me from knocking their lungs loose was the fact that places like Wheel Away, and dudes like Dylan actually are genuine and authentic with their customers, and restored my confidence that customer service still exists.
Support this local business and give them an opportunity to show you what’s up. I should point out that about 98% of their inventory is Specialized branded. Which is cool if that’s the brand you’re going for like I did.
Lastly, for those who are canine averse, please note that the owner does have a giant German Shepard hanging out in the shop. But I guaran-​damn-​tee you it’s the sweetest pup. Much better than a whiny Chihuahua that reminds me of a naggy ex-​girlfriend.

Our family has purchased 3 bikes from Wheel Away and we’ve always been happy with their products and service. This weekend my wife was having problems with gears on her bike. She took it to another bike shop in Campbell to get it checked out because she just happened to be riding by their shop. They recommended her to have them completely change the gears shift mechanism at a cost of over $ 300. They claimed that her problem was not fixable and the parts for her bike are not made anymore.
My wife took her bike to Wheel Away and they fixed the issue for us for no charge. I don’t know why we didn’t take the bike to Wheel Away in the first place. Wheel Away will definitely have all of our business from now on.
