I don’t know why I haven’t done a review until now, because I have been going to Dr. Vanier for quite a few years and I love this office. Prior to Dr. Vanier I had dentists that really seem to be all about the money and not the care. It was annoying. With Dr. Vanier I know that I will get the truth and no nonsense dentistry. The staff is always friendly and they are super helpful. Even no that I don’t have insurance anymore, they offer options and have my best interest at heart. There is no high pressure at all! I can’t say enough about this office!

I find the bad reviews almost hysterical when it comes to Dr. V. and his staff. I’m probably one of their most frightened patients they have. and believe me they know it. They are so kind and sweet and understanding towards me. The office is a hoot and make you feel like family the minute you arrive. new patient or old. Dr. V is a caring and good man that gives back to society and his community in so many ways yet you will never hear him brag about it. If you miss an appointment and don’t call yes they like to know if you will still be coming in as they have now lost money for the time slot you scheduled and didn’t bother to give them a phone call and cancel. It states clearly in their office to call them almost all dentist and doctors offices require a phone call. Be lucky they didn’t charge you. The office staff is awesome even if you haven’t seen them in 2 years they ask about the kids and the vacations and whatever else they knew was going on at the time of your last visit. They are awesome! They also know I’m such a scaredy cat if I need referred out to make sure it is to another specialist that treats people like me with patience and goes slowly. what is not to love about this office?!

I have been going to Dr. Vainer for 2 years. Everyone is very nice and and professional. Everyone there is top notch! They are all knowledgeable and efficient. They take you in right away. The office is very clean and nice.

Came here for a cleaning and was 20 minutes late! Not only were they able to see me right away but they were super friendly about the service and I didn’t feel rushed at all. Dr. Vainer and his staff made my first time visit so awesome, I even called my mom right after talking about it lol! I don’t know if my last dentist was terrible or if I wasn’t as desperate to get my teeth done as I was this time but they were very detailed about my procedure unlike my last dentist who never explained anything to me. I would definitely refer them to a friend or family member!

I have been coming to Dr. Vainer for 10 years and have always had a great experience. The office staff is very personable and friendly. When it comes to being comfortable they absolutely are wonderful. They are very patient with my kids and it makes all the difference when my kids are not scared of the dentist. If anyone is looking for a new dentist I highly recommend Dr. Vainer.

I moved here from Colorado and had no idea where to start looking for a dentist. I despised going but I knew I had to find one. I was fortunate enough to be recommended Dr. Vainer by a colleague. About 7 years ago, I started to have sensitivity around my gums and found semi-​annual cleanings to be a stressful unpleasant experience. I changed my dentist a few years ago (one I had been going to for as long as I can remember) when they told me that I had cracked molars due to grinding and to prevent them from becoming cavities, they needed to patch around them using the same stuff they use to fill a cavity. Well the anesthesia didn’t work (probably due to adrenaline since I could barely stand a cleaning) and they couldn’t even drill one of the holes they needed to help the stuff stick. Let’s just say I was apprehensive about drilling into the sides of perfectly good teeth to begin with but the pain was enough to put me off ever wanting to go back. The new dentist was okay but I could barely muster up confidence to go in yearly, that is… until Dr. Vainer. From his front office staff to the hygienists who cleaned my teeth, everything was perfect and even pleasant. I had none of the sensitivity I experienced with previous cleanings and Dr. Vainer confirmed that my molars were as fine as they felt. I even got Invisiline here and I come every month to get them checked and new trays. When I went in for the consultation, he even gave me the option to pay monthly!
My husband has his first appointment tomorrow. He has weird dental insurance that is more of a fund than traditional insurance and at the end of last year, some random dentist he found near where we lived told him he had six, SIX small cavities forming. I told him no way, that is impossible if the dentist 6 months before didn’t even notice one. It ends up the funds are a use it or lose it type of scenario and they wanted to claim his remaining fund amount by the end of December. That just makes me more weary of dentists in general but I have complete faith in Dr. Vainer! I even saw a few prominent tech CEOs here during my check up ;)

extremely unprofessional. knocked one of my tooth loose while working in another. when I mentioned this, claimed I’m imaging the loosened tooth and told me to go back to my old dentist. then kept me waiting while he worked on another patient.

Great doctor. Great staff. Dr. Vainer is friendly, intelligent, and gets down to business-doesn’t waste time. Rest of the staff is very friendly, too. Office is cute, cozy, and clean. Has a tropical feel to it as the walls are painted with images of fish, beach scenes, etc. Parking is never a problem. Just wish they were open on Fridays.

Dr Vainer and his staff are so awesome. I spend years terrified of going to the dentist but that is all in the past. Dr. Vainer’s staff has a way of making a scary experience seem pleasurable. I’ve been going there for about 5 years and I’ve recommended his office to several friends, all of whom are very satisfied. Even my 10 year old son has no worries about getting his cavities filled (grrr).
I went yesterday to have a wisdom tooth pulled. Despite all my good experiences I was fairly nervous because I couldn’t take the day off work if I was in pain. It was great. Dr. Vainer was able to numb the area and extract the tooth and I DIDN’T FEEL A THING! The rest of the day I only had minor discomfort. I never even needed to take an Advil.

Dr. Vainer is the best! I have never enjoyed going to the dentist, until I started going to Dr. Vainer. He will not perform any unnecessary procedures and will make you feel very comfortable being in his chair. He has an incredible talent for giving shots with zero pain! I have moved a few times from the South Bay, to the Peninsula, and now San Francisco. I will drive over an hour just to have him treat me. I have been a loyal patient for years and totally think he is worth it!

love Dr vainer and all of his staff. All my family goes to him and even some co-​workers. He never tries to do stuff you don’t need. definitely would recommend him!!!

My experience was kind of mixed, I guess right between a 2 or 3 rating.
Staff — the staff is. .. rambunctious, which is fine, unless you’re nervous about dental appointments and then the loud, stuffy, tight front desk/​waiting area is just not fun.
Staff (Front Desk manager) — she seemed great, and listened to the reasons I was moving to another dentist. In the background of course, I could hear the hoots and hollers of her staff, until I started complaining about how loud they were (as my reason for leaving) and suddenly it got quiet in the back.
Dentist — I wouldn’t really know, I saw him for about 2 minutes and then he left in the middle of the afternoon
Equipment — Fred Flintstone would think it was high-​tech, but I don’t! The films they take of your teeth are not digital, so if you move to another office, they have to be mailed. Also the technicians were debating over which machine to use because one preferred one machine to another and were deciding if I should move to another room to accommodate the machine they preferred. Fun times!
Information — I got really beat up about not flossing and not going to the dentist for a while, I know they have to give you the «floss twice a day» thing, which is great; but after having the technician huff and puff over my teeth, I was a bit pissed. And trust me, other than some plaque, it wasn’t a big deal, I’ve never even had a cavity!
Dental care — The technician/​dental assistant who worked on me said she would be gentle and asked me to let her know if anything bothered me, when I did, she looked at me like I was crazy (and all I said was a muffled owwgh, it wasn’t a scream, no yelling, no jerking in my seat). She stared at me so long I said, well you asked me to say something right? Should I not? Then she woke up, I guess, and said «oh yeah sorry about that». WTF?
So for me the biggest issues are the unprofessional staff (and I love fun people, just not noisy unprofessional people), the old equipment, and the stuffy office in general. Vainer himself (from the 2 minutes I saw him) seemed great, he just needs to teach the staff to be a bit more low key (think relaxing office instead of noisy airport) and get some new equipment.

I along with my entire family have been going to Dr. Vainer for over 20 years. I can’t compare him to anyone since he has been my only dentist ever, but the office is great, coworkers are amazing, and Bill does a very quick, very painless job! I have had MANY cavities and am still fear-​free when it comes to dental work. Go see Bill!

By far the best serivce. I couldn’t ask for a better Dentist! Dr. Vainer is a class act. The whole staff is friendly and not only do they look out for your teeth, but they look out for your wallet. I had used up most of my insurance and still needed a lot of work done and so rather then just doing all the teeth and working out a payment plan that i couldn’t afford he showed me what teeth needed to be worked on right away and treated me with respect. For those reasons I will keep coming back!

Dr Vainer and his staff are the BEST!
I am the kind of person that is scared of going to the dentist and had tried serveral others dentists before I met Dr Vainer. He is very professional and gentle. His staff is excellent. I have nothing but good thigs to say about him. Professional. Experianced. Friendly. And does an excelent job.
There used to be a mean lady who had a negative attitude with everyone there (Linda). Fortunately, she is no longer there. She used to call me even after I paid my monthly payment (for invisolign) and leave me nasty messages telling me how I was past due and that this was a real problem and to return her call. I would call her and tell her, Linda I already paid my monthly payment, she would just laugh and say oops! the next month the she would do the same thing! Seriously thins lady was driving me crazy with her rude messages. LUCKLY she is no lober there and the remaining staff for Dr Vainer is very friendly.

I had my first exam and filling done with Dr. Vainer today. It was a very happy experience, and I was greatful to them for letting me bring my toddler daughter along. Thank you staff, I will be back.

Best dentist I’ve experienced so far.
Just got two fillings, was in and out in 20 mins, no pain, perfect job.
Dr. Vainer is clearly a true pro — hard to find these days.

I didn’t have a chance to visit the doctor, but his front desk especially the «Office Manager» are one of the most unprofessional people, I ever seen in the health industry.
I ask for business card, and old lady (office manager) she even bother herself to give a card.
The office is extremely noisy and funny thing is, the attach a bell to entrance door (cow bell) to add more sound to unpleasant waiting room.
I never go back.

There is no issue with their office staff. The receptionist, who lives in Stockton, is still working there.
This is the best dentist I have found in years. Very professional staff and both the hygienists are equally good. The best thing about Dr. Vainer is that he doesn’t push unnecessary work. He was very understanding when I told him I couldn’t afford to replace a crown. He just told me he would be ready when I was ready.
I would highly recommend Dr. Vainer as well as the hygienists.

Dr Vainer is a really good dentist. I also enjoyed the office staff and hygenists until the receptionist moved to Modesto. Things went downhill after that.
My ex missed his appt for some reason (I can’t remember). They called his dad and left a message asking where my ex was. His dad flipped because he had a message from a doctor, naturally thinking something tragic had happened.
A coworker I’d recommended called because he had the flu so he needed to reschedule his appt. He said they kept pressuring him to keep the appt, no matter how he tried to explain how sick he was. He was so sick he didn’t feel it would be safe for him to drive.
Another coworker brought her teenage son here. She told me they asked him the type of filling he wanted and he said silver. She’d told them to do the tooth colored filling. They did the silver. She was very angry that they allowed a minor to make the decision.
This was a few years ago so maybe he got better people in. I feel bad that I recommended them and it turned out badly for my friends.
