He was quick to respond and available! The other locksmithing people do not respond at all or call to tell you that they do not have anybody available. Steve is the guy to call! No Doubt!!! He was on time as promised. Gave me a clear and fair quote over the phone and gave me clear advice on which option to pick. Made it easy and he was VERY professional. No doubt. He is the person to call for your lock and key needs.

Steve Doblick of A-​1 Deadbolt & Door came out to install a deadbolt for one of our bedrooms/​office. He arrived on time and did an excellent job and actually improved the original door connection with the jamb before installing the deadbolt. He honored his initial bid for $ 105 even though it took close to 2.5 hours to make a perfect fit. I was happy to add a $ 20 bill in appreciation for his work and professionalism and for his success in getting through a recent and serious medical health problem. Never met him before but I have no reservations recommending him for your lock and door needs.

I am 67 years old. I contracted with Steve to replace and stain my bath room, bedroom and closet sliding doors. Although a contractor is prevented by law from receiving over $ 1000 as a deposit, he had me pay $ 2,729 up front on the total of $ 3676. I waited 90 days with no email and no phone calls. When I contacted him it seemed to me that he had forgotten about it.
I contacted the CA state contractor licensing board. He received a warning letter which can lead to suspension if other complaints are filed.
I got the install done for $ 450 in labor using another licensed contractor for an hourly labor charge and bought the same doors myself from another supplier. I brushed on the Minwax combined stain and polycoat myself in one hour, a $ 950 charge. Beware.

We needed to have sturdy locks and weather proofing installed on our studio’s french doors. My husband found A-​1 Deadbolt and Door, and was really impressed with the conversations he had with the owner Steve. Very professional, responsive, knowledgeable and easy to brainstorm with on various options. Steve came out to do the work today, and he did a fantastic job. I needed a locksmith in Santa Cruz to do some rekeying. They came right out and did a great job at a reasonable price
