Hampton Inn – Carlsbad

This is the best hotel in the area. Very clean and comfortable. The staff is always friendly. Arthur at the front desk very patiently, will facilitate your every need. Looking for a hotel, stay here you won’t be disappointed.

Been staying at Hilton hotels for years. Never disappointed. This hotel is very nice and accommodating.

I have been to other Hampton Inns and they always had fruit flavored water in the lobby, not just coffee and hot water for tea. I was surprised a free bottle of water was not even offered. I had requested a handicapped room in October, When I arrived in December I did not have the room I needed. I could barely turn around in the room and getting in to the bathroom was almost impossible. I complained and they said I could move from the first floor to the third. That was an inconvenience since I had already unpacked. Although the hotel staff were pleasant they didn’t offer any help for the move. I would not recommend this place for handicapped people. Also, the free breakfast was available, but there were no handicapped areas to sit in a wheelchair.

Perfect because it’s right next to the ice hockey rink! Very nice room and it’s newer and updated. Front desk very helpful just didn’t have a bottle opener. No big deal we forgot it so we went to the hotel next store they had one. Let us keep it

I stayed here over the weekend and was very pleased with this hotel. Our room was very clean and had almost everything from a small fridge to a microwave. We checked in pretty late and the hotel staff was very friendly.
They’re breakfast was great! You can make you own waffles and oatmeal. Free coffee and tea. Very close to Legoland if you are looking for a hotel to stay at after a long day at the theme park.
I would definitely recommend!

I had a very pleasant experience at this Hampton Inn. Conveniently located in Carlsbad, it was clean and comfortable. The room, although a bit small, had everything advertised– a mini fridge, microwave, and comfortable beds. Housekeeping interestingly puts a post-​it note on the headboard announcing that the sheets and duvet have been cleaned «just for you.» Uh, thanks! I hope they are cleaned for everyone! The water pressure and temperature in the shower was perfect, and they provided plenty of towels.
The included breakfast was a great addition, and a big reason why I chose to stay at a Hampton Inn. This one did not disappoint. Waffles, sausage, «omelettes», potatoes, breads, fruit, juice, and coffee were among the offerings. While the coffee was not the best, it did the trick.
The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful, even during the wee hours of the night.
If I am in the Carlsbad area again, I will surely visit the Hampton Inn.

I am so impressed with this hotel. They were kind and accommodating. Our room was clean. The beds and pillows were so comfortable. And the breakfast is delicious. I’ll definitely come back!

Very reasonably priced, the room was clean, location is quiet and it is within close proximity to the 5 freeway and the coast in general. Free breakfast is always fun but it wasn’t as tasty as we were expecting it to be. The first morning we tried it, the sausage didn’t look fully cooked and the fruit had an odd aftertaste. The second morning there was nothing left in the hot trays so there were no eggs, potatoes or bacon/​sausage. I had a bagel that morning and it was totally stale. 3 stars for the room and the hotel cleanliness but the breakfast brought my rating down because it was disappointing and was one of the reasons we chose this place to stay for the weekend.

I didn’t know that walls are made out of PAPER… because thats what it felt like. Comfy beds, great check in… and then no sleep because you can hear everything from all the other rooms. stay here unless you DONT like sleep and rest.

Only reason they didn’t get 5 stars from me is because we had a few issues, but how they were handled/​addressed will definitely make me a return guest.
Pros: super clean hotel. Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. WIFI worked well for the free option. Nice variety for a free breakfast and comfy beds. Super close to Legoland, places to eat, shop… etc.
Cons: best part of the cons is that they were just stay related and resolved. The shower head didn’t work right, the fire alarm went off randomly while we were asleep and scared the crap out of us, and worst… the pool was out of commission… horror and the end of the world to my 7 year old lol I let them know about our issues and one of our nights was comped… really appreciated that gesture.
In that we just purchased legoland passes this will be our goto hotel.

Good quality hotel. Comfortable bed and ample outlets for my many electronics. Front desk and cleaning personnel were excellent. Breakfast buffet was better than the average free continental breakfast.
Only negatives were the difficulty locating a parking space when arriving back late, minimally comfortable pillows, and broken shower head spraying water everywhere.
Not a bad location if staying for a night or two but not the best option for an extended stay.

The side doors to the hotel were inoperable so we had to use the front entrance and walk far to our room. We stayed 4 nights and I never saw any maintenance or worker correcting the problem. Otherwise great room for the price.

Almost can’t go wrong with the name Hampton Inn. Great room for the price. Very nice location. Good breakfast offering in the morning. they were doing some renovation which was nice to see. Would definitely stay here again.

I am very happy with this hotel. I am usually skeptical of hotels because I’m kind of a germaphobe. However this hotel was very clean all around. Clean sheets and towels which was very important to me.
They even provide breakfast in the lobby in the mornings.
Customer service was good.

This hotel is OK for location and the breakfast is decent.
Also, this place has the worst Internet or I should say no Internet. It’s 2015, how can you still offer Internet that is slower than a mobile phone?
Those are my two big complaints but the place is clean and the staff is friendly.

. This location is very close to the Lego-​land themed park. We were greeted by a very pleasant young lady. The room I stayed at had a view of the airport. You could hear the helicopters and plane activity. The location offers free WiFi (At&t) and pay per view movies. The room was nice and clean. The restroom offers a two person shower (Nice). The only draw back are the restroom floors are COLD… This location offers breakfast. It was great but gets crowded so go early.

Bottom Line: A clean and efficient hotel located very close to Legoland and many local businesses.
I’ve stayed in lots of Hampton Inns and have found that not all are as nice as this place. This newish (2009 build I think?) hotel is updated, well maintained and clean. Also, I think the staff is very friendly. I like that they recognize my loyalty to the Hilton brand and have comped drinks and snacks for me in the past. I also like that they have a refrigerator in the room for my dinner leftovers and cache of diet cokes.
In my opinion, the breakfast here is adequate to get a bite to eat before the day starts but you’re not going to find any fancy cuisine here! They do have lots of options though — coffee with flavored creamers, several juices, a few cereals, waffle bar, fresh fruit, an egg dish, some sort of breakfast meat, etc.
Something else that is nice about this hotel is its close to a plaza next door with lots of quick dining options. (I personally recommend CYO for pizzas, salad and other entrees.)
My gripe with this hotel is the parking. It seems with all of my business trips I don’t get back to the hotel until late and by then there are not any parking spots less. While Hampton Inn has a large lot shared with the adjacent Homewood Suites, the spots are tiny so everyone is double parked. I once again found myself parking really far away and then having to lug all of my crap way further than should be required. Given this annoyance, I’ll probably switch back to the Courtyard when staying in Carlsbad.

Stayed one night while on business in San Marcos. The place is clean, quiet, and has a good free breakfast selection. Staff is friendly. Pool is heated, and the jacuzzi is perfect at the end of a long day. There are places to eat a very short walk away. Parking is ample.
The night I stayed, the rate was $ 79. One week later when I wanted to stay again, it was $ 149. I ended up at a Hyatt for less. I don’t understand these kind of price swings for a midline hotel.

Pleasantly surprised. Rooms are small but at least they have hot breakfast.
